Hassad acquires 22.5 percent stake in Sunrise Foods International

Doha: Hassad has acquired a 22.5 percent stake in Sunrise Foods International, the world’s largest organic grain and oilseed company, owned by Turkey’s Tiryaki Agro.
Hassad also announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Tiryaki Agro to provide various food grains to the local market in case of demand. This agreement will strengthen the efforts of the company to achieve food security in Qatar.
The deal is expected to close in the last quarter of this year.
The Chief Executive Officer at Hassad Food Company Mohamed Badr Al Sada said that the company is delighted to enter into a long-term strategic partnership by acquiring a stake in Sunrise Foods International, pointing out that the company will benefit from the commercial side of this agreement in the coming years, due to the growing demand for organic products in the global markets.
Sunrise Foods International is headquartered in Canada, markets its various products in the US and European markets, and has facilities in the United States, Canada and Turkey. The company’s operations extend from the Black Sea region through Europe to North America.
أعلنت شركة حصاد -المتخصصة في مجال الاستثمار الغذائي- أنها قامت بالاستحواذ على حصة 22.5 % من أسهم شركة «سن رايز فودز إنترناشيونال» -أكبر شركة حبوب وبذور زيتية عضوية في العالم- وهي مملوكة لشركة ترياكي أجرو التركية. كما أعلنت الشركة عن توقيعها على اتفاقية استراتيجية مع شركة «ترياكي أجرو» لتوفير مختلف الحبوب الغذائية للسوق المحلي في حال الطلب؛ حيث ستعزز هذه الاتفاقية جهود شركة حصاد الرامية إلى تحقيق الأمن الغذائي لدولة قطر.
يقع المقر الرئيسي لشركة «سن رايز فودز» في كندا، وتقوم بتسويق منتجاتها المختلفة في السوق الأميركي والأوروبي، كما تمتلك مرافق في كلّ من الولايات المتحدة وكندا وتركيا، هذا بالإضافة إلى أن عمليات الشركة تمتد من منطقة البحر الأسود عبر أوروبا إلى أميركا الشمالية.
وبهذه المناسبة، صرّح السيد محمد السادة، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة حصاد، قائلاً: «يسعدنا الدخول في شراكة استراتيجية طويلة الأمد من خلال الاستحواذ على حصة في شركة سن رايز فودز»، وأوضح السادة أن شركة حصاد ستستفيد خلال السنوات المقبلة من الجانب التجاري لهذه الصفقة، وذلك نظراً لنمو الطلب على المنتجات العضوية في الأسواق العالمية بشكل كبير.
ومن المتوقع الانتهاء من إجراءات هذا الاستثمار في الربع الأخير من عام 2019.
