Qatar Airways inaugural flight to Izmir touches down at Adnan Menderes Airport
الخطوط الجوية القطرية تدشّن رحلاتها المباشرة إلى إزمير
Qatar Airways’ first flight from Doha to Izmir landed yesterday at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, marking the addition of airline’s seventh Turkish gateway. Qatar Airways flight QR 347, operated by an Airbus A320, was welcomed to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport by a celebratory water cannon salute.
The Turkish Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Fikret Ozer, was joined by Qatar Airways Senior Vice-President Europe, Sylvain Bosc, on board Qatar Airways’ inaugural flight to Izmir.
VIPs present to greet the aircraft upon arrival included the Deputy Governor of Izmir, Aydın Memük; DHMİ Deputy Chief Manager Adnan Menderes International Airport, Necmi Karakoç; DHMİ Deputy Chief Manager, Hasan Çıracı; and TAV Ege General Manager, Erkan Balcı.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to launch direct services to Izmir, a beautiful coastal city and key business hub. This new gateway to Turkey will strengthen Qatar Airways’ already robust presence in the Turkish market, while providing our passengers travelling from Turkey enhanced connectivity to our extensive global route map of more than 160 destinations. Izmir is also home to the country’s second-largest port after Istanbul, and is a major commercial centre, making it a key destination for business travellers.”
TAV Ege General Manager, Erkan Balcı, said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Qatar Airways inaugural flight from Doha. Izmir Adnan Menderes airport is the gateway to the world-famous Aegean region, which is home to major cultural and historic attractions, drawing millions of visitors each year from all over the world.” Three weekly flights to Izmir will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class.
Set against the Aegean Sea on Turkey’s western coast, Izmir has been an important port city since ancient times. Visitors to Izmir have a wide variety of activities to enjoy, from exploring nearby monuments and archaeological sites, including the Roman Agora of ancient Smyrna, now an open-air museum, to enjoying the renowned seafood restaurants set along the city’s promenade. Tourists can also visit the restorative Balçova thermal baths, just 10km west of İzmir.
Qatar Airways currently operates flights to six destinations in Turkey, with separate services to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport (21 times per week) and Istanbul Airport (14 times per week), Adana Airport (three times a week), and daily flights to Ankara.
The award-winning airline will also resume direct seasonal services to Bodrum on May 25, 2019 and Antalya from May 24, 2019. Qatar Airways Cargo is a key player in Turkey, providing belly-hold flights to Adana, Ankara, Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul.
The airline also operates three weekly Boeing 777 freighter services to Istanbul. With the launch of flights to and from Izmir, Qatar Airways Cargo will offer direct cargo capacity for perishable exports such as fresh fish and fruits out of Izmir.
Trucking services will also be offered both ways between Izmir and Istanbul. With the thrice weekly belly-hold flights and trucking services, the cargo carrier will offer more than 50 tonnes per month to and from Izmir. Belly-hold cargo capacity to Antalya in Turkey will soon be introduced.
As well as enjoying the award-winning in-flight service, passengers travelling to Izmir will also have access to Oryx One, QA’s in-flight entertainment system, offering the latest blockbuster movies, TV box sets, music, games and much more.
وصلت أولى رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية من الدوحة إلى إزمير أمس في مطار عدنان مندريس الدولي، لتصبح بذلك سابع وجهات الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر في تركيا. ولدى وصول الرحلة رقم (QR347) على طائرة من طراز «أيرباص A320»، تم استقبالها بأقواس المياه الترحيبية. وكان على متن الرحلة الافتتاحية إلى إزمير كل من سعادة السيد فكرت أوزر، سفير جمهورية تركيا لدى دولة قطر والسيد سيلفاين بوسك، نائب أول الرئيس التنفيذي لأوروبا في الخطوط الجوية القطرية.
كان في استقبال الرحلة الافتتاحية للناقلة القطرية لدى وصولها إلى إزمير كل من: السيد إيد ميموك نائب حاكم إزمير؛ والسيد نيتشمي كاراكوتش نائب مدير الإدارة العامة للمطارات لشؤون مطار عدنان مندريس الدولي؛ والسيد حسن تشيراشي نائب مدير الإدارة العامة للمطارات، والسيد إركان بالشي، المدير العام لمطارات تاف.
حضور قوي
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «يسعدنا تدشين رحلاتنا المباشرة إلى إزمير، التي تعد مدينة ساحلية جميلة ومركزاً مهماً للأعمال. وسوف تساهم هذه الوجهة الجديدة في تركيا بتعزيز الحضور القوي للخطوط الجوية القطرية في السوق التركي، فيما ستتاح الفرصة أمام المسافرين من تركيا للاستمتاع بمزيد من خيارات السفر إلى شبكة وجهاتنا العالمية التي تضم أكثر من 160 وجهة».
من جهته، قال السيد إركان بالشي المدير العام لمطارات تاف: «إنه لمن دواعي سرورنا الترحيب بالرحلة الافتتاحية للخطوط الجوية القطرية من الدوحة إلى إزمير، التي تعد إحدى الوجهات المهمة في منطقة إيجة. كما تشتهر إزمير بضمها العديد من المعالم الثقافية والتاريخية التي تستقطب الملايين من المسافرين من شتى أنحاء العالم».
وسوف تسيّر الخطوط الجوية القطرية ثلاث رحلات أسبوعياً إلى إزمير على طائرة من طراز «أيرباص A320 « التي تضم 12 مقعداً على درجة رجال الأعمال، و132 مقعداً على الدرجة السياحية.
الشحن الجوي
وتقدم القطرية للشحن الجوي خدماتها من خلال المساحة المخصصة للشحن على طائرات الركاب إلى أضنة وأنقرة وصبيحة كوكجن واسطنبول. كما تسيّر القطرية للشحن الجوي ثلاث رحلات أسبوعياً إلى اسطنبول على طائرة من طراز «بوينغ 777». ومع إطلاق الرحلات إلى إزمير، سوف تتيح القطرية للشحن الجوي إمكانية نقل البضائع سريعة التلف بشكل مباشر من إزمير، مثل الأسماك الطازجة والفواكه. كما ستتيح الناقلة خدمات نقل البضائع بالشاحنات بين إزمير واسطنبول. وعند احتساب المساحة المخصصة للشحن في طائرات الركاب إلى إزمير، سوف تتمكن القطرية للشحن الجوي من نقل أكثر من 50 طناً شهرياً من وإلى إزمير. كما ستقدم الناقلة خدمات الشحن الجوي على طائرات الركاب إلى أنطاليا قريباً.
