Qatar Airways celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2019

Doha: Qatar Airways celebrated World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2019, a global event sponsored by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to help mark its centenary, and supported by the airline to underline its commitment to health and safety as its first priority.
Qatar Airways emphasised throughout the day the key sections of their Group Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Safety Policy under the theme “A safe and healthy future of work”. The key message of the day was “Take 5 for a safe and healthy future.”
In a new internal video launched to support the event, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Our safety culture grows stronger because of the full participation of all staff in choosing safe behaviours. This ensures our continued health and safety and that of our colleagues. I am proud of our achievements in improving health and safety standards. As we look forward, we must all continue to choose positive actions, safe behaviours and strive to be safety leaders.”
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President, Group Safety and Security, Ashish Jain, said: “At Qatar Airways, we consider safety to be our number one priority. We are happy to celebrate this important event with the International Labour Organisation, one of the most respected global bodies working to ensure safety in the workplace. Our continuous efforts throughout the year to promote safety demonstrates our dedication towards a safe working environment.”
In January 2019, Hamad International Airport (HIA) held an airport’s safety week campaign as part of a Qatar Airways Group Initiative in which they conducted multiple training sessions for stakeholders and agencies operating at the airport, attended by over 10,000 staff.
In 2018, the national carrier of the State of Qatar was recognised for its outstanding safety performance record at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Safety and Flight Operations Conference held in Montreal, Canada. Qatar Airways has a long history of commitment to safety going back decades.
احتفلت الخطوط الجوية القطرية باليوم العالمي للسلامة والصحة في مكان العمل 2019، الذي أقيم هذا العام بمناسبة الذكرى المئوية لمنظمة العمل الدولية، وتدعم الناقلة هذه المبادرة ضمن التزامها بتطبيق معايير الصحة والسلامة، باعتبارها أهم أولوياتها.
وسلَّطت «القطرية» الضوء خلال احتفالها باليوم العالمي للسلامة والصحة في مكان العمل 2019 على عدد من الأمور المتعلّقة بالسلامة والصحة المهنية، وسياسة السلامة من الحرائق، تحت شعار: «مستقبل آمن وصحي لمكان العمل». وكانت الرسالة الرئيسية التي حرصت الناقلة على إيصالها خلال احتفالها بهذه المبادرة هي «خمس خطوات لمستقبل آمن وصحي».
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «تمتاز ثقافة السلامة في الخطوط الجوية القطرية بمتانتها، ناهيك عن تطوّرها عاماً بعد عام، وذلك بفضل مساهمة جميع الموظفين في تبنّي سلوكيات آمنة وصحية، مما ينعكس إيجاباً على سلامة عملياتنا. وأفتخر كل الفخر بالإنجازات التي حققناها ونحققها لتعزيز معايير الصحة والسلامة، وعلينا جميعاً الاستمرار في اختيار التصرفات الإيجابية والسلوكيات الآمنة، والعمل بجد أكبر لكي نصبح قادة في مجال السلامة».
