UDST Opens Admission for Winter 2024

Doha: University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) has opened applications for the winter 2024 semester, enabling prospective students to apply online via the UDST website, “udst.edu.qa,” for selected programs.

Excitingly among those programs open for enrollment are the recently launched degrees developed to address changing market needs and tailored to direct application in Qatar. These include the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering with a strong focus on LNG shipping; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Smart Manufacturing which enables students to integrate high-level skills in managing design processes; and the Master of Science in Sustainable Tourism with a strong focus on eco-tourism and heritage tourism.

UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi said, “Each semester we have enormous interest in our programs from prospective students and their families. This reflects how sought-after applied education is, and the pivotal role it plays in co-developing the knowledge and skills required by students to successfully enter tomorrow’s workforce. UDST is the leader of technical and vocational education in Qatar. Unwavering in our commitment to ensure more than just academic education, we also provide a wide range of engaging extra-curricular and sporting activities on campus and equip students for professional success throughout their lifetime.” Spanning five colleges – Engineering and Technology, Business, Computing and Information Technology, Health Sciences, and General Education – UDST offers 64 diverse and comprehensive programs, including five Master’s programs especially developed to address market needs in relevant fields.

The University facilitates immersive learning, involving critical thinking and integrative experiences through simulated environments, as well as workplace training and an overall focus on applied education. This approach allows students to gain in-depth expertise in their respective study fields and ensures they possess practical, employable skills with which to enter an increasingly competitive workforce.

الدوحة: أعلنت جامعة الدوحة للعلوم والتكنولوجيا عن فتح باب القبول لفصل الشتاء الدراسي 2024، ما يتيح للطلاب تقديم طلباتهم عبر موقعها الإلكتروني “udst.edu.qa” لعدد من البرامج المختارة.

وأوضحت الجامعة، في بيان اليوم، أن من بين البرامج المفتوحة للتسجيل عددا من التخصصات تم إطلاقها مؤخرا وتطويرها لتلبية احتياجات سوق العمل في قطر، مشيرة الى أن هذه البرامج تشمل بكالوريوس العلوم في الهندسة البحرية مع التركيز على شحن الغاز الطبيعي المسال، وبكالوريوس العلوم في الهندسة الميكانيكية “التصنيع الذكي” الذي يمكن الطلاب من استخدام المهارات التي يكتسبونها في إدارة عمليات التصميم، وماجستير العلوم في السياحة المستدامة، مع التركيز على السياحة البيئية والسياحة التراثية.

وقال الدكتور سالم بن ناصر النعيمي رئيس جامعة الدوحة للعلوم والتكنولوجيا إنه في كل فصل دراسي، تحظى برامج الجامعة باهتمام كبير من الطلاب وأسرهم، ما يعكس تزايد الاهتمام بالتعليم التطبيقي، والدور المحوري الذي يلعبه في تطوير المعرفة والمهارات التي يحتاجها الطلاب لدخول سوق العمل بنجاح في المستقبل.

واعتبر الدكتور النعيمي في تصريح صحفي بهذه المناسبة جامعة الدوحة للعلوم والتكنولوجيا، المؤسسة التعليمية الرائدة في مجال التعليم التقني والمهني في قطر.

وأضاف: “انطلاقا من التزامنا الراسخ بتقديم تجربة تعليمية متكاملة تتخطى المقاعد الدراسية، فإن الجامعة تنظم عددا كبيرا من الأنشطة خارج المنهج الدراسي، لاسيما الرياضية منها، وتحضر الطلاب لتحقيق نجاح مهني يدوم مدى الحياة” .

يذكر أن الجامعة تضم خمس كليات هي الهندسة والتكنولوجيا، وكلية الأعمال، والحوسبة وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، والعلوم الصحية، والتعليم العام، وتقدم الجامعة 64 برنامجا متنوعا وشاملا، بما في ذلك خمسة برامج ماجستير تم تطويرها خصيصا لتلبية احتياجات السوق في المجالات ذات الصلة.

وحددت الجامعة البرامج المتاحة للتسجيل في كل كلية، وأكدت أنها تضع الطلاب في رأس أولوياتها، وتوفر لهم مجموعة واسعة من خبرات التعلم العملية لربط المعرفة في الفصل الدراسي بالتطبيق العملي، ما يساعدهم على إضافة قيمة مهمة في مكان العمل.
