Ooredoo volunteers visit patients at kidney centre
متطوّعو «ooredoo» يتفقدون مرضى «فهد بن جاسم للكلى»
Doha: Ooredoo said yesterday that a host of volunteers from its staff spent a day at the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre, as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility activity schedule this Ramadan.
The delegation of Ooredoo staff received a warm welcome from nurses, centre staff and of course patients at the centre, who are undergoing treatment and dialysis there.
Ooredoo’s volunteers, in an effort to alleviate at least some of the potential stress patients could be under due to their illness, spent time chatting to and connecting with the patients and surprised them with gift bags.
Ooredoo has a long history of supporting patients with kidney disorders in Qatar, having donated the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre to Hamad Medical Corporation in 2010 to provide dialysis facilities for patients suffering acute and chronic kidney disease. The centre offers a modern, spacious environment for patients, with 80 stations and 20 private rooms.
Talking about the visit, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi, Director PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said: “Supporting the local community is a key focus for Ooredoo as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and holy Ramadan is the perfect time for us to find opportunities to show our support in a practical way. We’re delighted to continue our annual tradition of visiting and supporting the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre again this year; our team of volunteers spent a wonderful time with the patients, and we hope everyone enjoyed their gift bags.”
أعلنت «ooredoo» أن فريق المتطوعين بالشركة قام بزيارة مركز فهد بن جاسم للكلى. وتأتي هذه الزيارة ضمن إطار أنشطة المسؤولية الاجتماعية للشركة خلال شهر رمضان المبارك.
وخلال الزيارة، قدّم المتطوعون الهدايا للمرضى، كما تحدّثوا إلى عدد من العاملين بالمركز والقائمين عليه وشكروهم على الجهود التي يبذلونها للعناية بالمرضى.
وتأتي هذه الزيارات لتقديم الدعم للمرضى، من خلال التواصل معهم عن قرب والترفيه عنهم، بالإضافة إلى تقديم الهدايا لهم.
وتحرص «ooredoo» على دعم مرضى الكلى في قطر؛ إذ ساهمت في إنشاء مركز فهد بن جاسم للكلى وافتتاحه عام 2010 لتوفير خدمات غسيل الكلى للمرضى. ويضم المركز منطقة حديثة وواسعة للمرضى، تتكون من 80 محطة لغسيل الكلى، و20 غرفة خاصة.
وعن هذه الزيارة، قالت منار خليفة المريخي، مديرة إدارة العلاقات العامة واتصالات الشركة في «ooredoo قطر»: «تحرص (ooredoo) على دعم المجتمع المحلي في شتى المجالات، ويُعدّ شهر رمضان فرصة مناسبة للاجتهاد في فعل الخير ومساعدة الآخرين. لذا، فنحن سعداء بتواصلنا المستمر مع مركز فهد بن جاسم للكلى والمرضى هناك، ونتمنى أن نكون قد أدخلنا السرور على قلوبهم، سواء بزيارة فريق المتطوعين أو الهدايا التي قدّمناها لهم».
يُذكر أن هذه المبادرة هي واحدة من العديد من المبادرات التي قام بها فريق المتطوعين في «ooredoo» للتواصل مع المجتمع المحلي وتقديم الدعم والهدايا لمختلف فئاته خلال شهر رمضان.
