Kahramaa commissions all 5 substations for 2022 Cup stadiums

Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) yesterday opened and energised Ras Abu Abboud-2 substation successfully at a cost of QR93m, which will supply electricity to Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, a venue of 2022 FIFA World Cup.
With the commissioning of the new substation, Kahramaa achieved all its electricity projects pertaining to 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums. Kahramaa has energised and commissioned five substations for World Cup stadiums with a total cost of QR800m.
The substations are designed specially to ensure uninterrupted power supply to FIFA 2022 World Cup stadiums following high international standards of safety and security.
Mehairja substation was opened in May 2017 to feed Khalifa International Stadium; Al Wukair-1 substation to feed Al Wakra Stadium was energised in February 2018. Al Jahhania-3 substation to feed Al Rayyan Stadium was opened in May 2018; Al Hedhan substation to feed Al Bayt Stadium was energized in July 2018; and the last one Ras Abu Aboud-2 substation was opened yesterday.
“Ras Abu Aboud-2 substation is the last facility from five major substations constructed and commissioned by Kahramaa to energize FIFA 2022 Stadiums,” said Maytha Al Naimi Project Manager at Kahramaa while speaking to the media persons at the opening ceremony yesterday.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior Kahramaa officials, project manger and engineers.
She said that the new subtation with the capacity of 66/11 KV was completed at a total cost of QR93m and it was constructed as part and parcel of the 12th phase of Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion Network. The project was awarded in the first quarter (Q1) of 2018.
“The station will supply 80 MVA electricity from four transformers with a capacity of 40 MVA each equipped with 66/11 KV,” said Al Naimi. She said that the station is adjoined with Ras Abu Aboud Station through the cable of 66 KV with total length of 450 metre.
“The project was developed by SIEMENS Global while cables connecting the substation with the feeder are produced by the Doha Cables, a Qatari company,” said Rashid Al Rahimi, Head of the Engineering Works Section at the Electricity Projects Department of Kahramaa.
He said that the American company General Electric (GE) has carried out communication work and connected the station to the control systems at the National Control Center of Kahramaa which has assigned many businesses to local companies.

قامت المؤسسة العامة القطرية للكهرباء والماء “كهرماء” اليوم بتشغيل محطة كهرباء رأس أبو عبود2 والتي تغذي استاد رأس أبو عبود، حيث تم تشغيل المحطة بنجاح.
وتعد رأس أبو عبود2 آخر محطة من خمس محطات نقل رئيسية نفذتها كهرماء لخدمة ملاعب كأس العالم 2022، وبذلك تكون كهرماء قد انتهت من تنفيذ كامل متطلبات واستعدادات تزويد الطاقة الكهربائية لملاعب كأس العالم 2022.
وفي هذا الاطار قالت المهندسة ميثة النعيمي مديرة محطة رأس أبو عبود2، إن المحطة ستغذي أحد ملاعب كأس العالم (استاد راس ابوعبود)، حيث انجزتها كهرماء في وقت مميز، و بسعة 80 ميجاوات، مضيفة أن تكلفة تأسيس المحطة اجمالية تقدر بنحو 93 مليون ريال فيما تم تنفيذها خلال نحو 10 أشهر.
وقالت النعيمي إن هذه المحطة بعد الانتهاء من المونديال ستسهم في تغذية المنطقة الموجودة بها، موضحة أن محطة راس ابو عبود2 مثل بقية المحطات يتم مراعاة شروط الاستدامة في تنفيذها الامر الذي تضعه كهرماء في أولوياتها، مضيفة أن إدار الجودة حريصة على أن تكون الاستدامة في كهرماء عند أعلي مستوياتها وصديقة للبيئة في جميع المجالات خاصة بناء المحطات، كما يتم تشغيل هذه المحطة الطاقة النظيفة وحتى الاضاءة في المحطة تستخدم إنارة صديقة للبيئة LED.
وتعد محطة رأس أبو عبود2 (جهد 66/11 ك.ف.)، والأعمال المصاحبة لها جزء من المرحلة الثانية عشرة من مشروع توسعة شبكة النقل الكهربائي بدولة قطر، والتي تم ترسيتها في الربع الأول من عام 2018.
وتبلغ كمية الطاقة الكهربائية التي توفرها المحطة 80 ميغافولت امبير ، حيث تشمل المحطة على 4 محولات بسعة 40 ميغافولت امبير لكل محول وبجهد 66/11 ك.ف. وتتم تغذية المحطة عن طريق محطة رأس أبوعبود الكبرى بكابل جهد 66 كيلو فولت بطول 450 متراً.
وأكدت كهرماء أنها تعمل على توفير أعلى معايير الموثوقية والاعتمادية في شبكتها الكهربائية وفق أعلى المعايير العالمية ووفق الاشتراطات المطلوبة لمشاريع الملاعب وذلك بالتنسيق مع لجنة الارث 2022، حيث أدخلت كهرماء نظام حماية متطور مرتبط بشبكة الألياف الضوئية لمفاتيح التحكم لزيادة الحماية.
جدير بالذكر أن كهرماء نفذت 5 محطات لملاعب كأس العالم بتكلفة حوالي 800 مليون ريال، وقد أنجزت كهرماء نسبة 100 % من أعمال المحطات حيث تم تشغيل محطة محيرجة الكبرى والتي تغذي استاد خليفة في مايو 2017، كما تم تشغيل محطة الوكير 1 والتي تغذي استاد الوكرة في فبراير 2018، ومحطة الجهانية 3 والتي تغذي استاد الريان في مايو 2018، ومحطة الحيضان والتي تغذي استاد البيت في يوليو 2018، بالإضافة محطة رأس أبو عبود2.
