QLC celebrates graduation of 118 Qataris at NMoQ
حفل تخريج 118 منتسباً ومنتسبة لمركز قطر للقيادات بمتحف قطر الوطني
Doha: Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) celebrated yesterday its annual graduation ceremony at the National Museum of Qatar, honouring 118 Qataris who have completed one of three courses of study — the Executive, Government, or Rising Leaders programs.
“The Centre supports the development of leadership skills that are essential for Qatar, abilities which are especially critical now given the rapid rate of economic diversification and transformation currently underway,” said H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson, QLC Board of Directors. The graduates constitute the sixth class of QLC since its establishment by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani as a national platform for leadership development.
In remarks at the ceremony, Sheikha Al Mayassa said: “We gather tonight at the new National Museum of Qatar, a masterpiece of art in the service of education. It connects Qatar’s past with its future, its rich heritage and traditions are the foundation of its informed vision of development. In a similar way, the QLC graduates are guided by the strength of our national heritage and the benefits of education for a promising future.”
Other QLC Board members attending the ceremony were: Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, Managing Director and Member; H E Yousuf Mohamed Al Othman Fakhroo, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour, and Social Affairs, Member; H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, Member; and H E Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Member. A number of Qatar’s most senior officials attended the event, including ministers, government officials, ambassadors, educators, as well as guests from QLC’s partner universities, the business community, along with family members and friends of the graduates.
Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani remarked, “As we celebrate our graduates’ success, we are reminded of the responsibilities they now shoulder, to contribute to our shared societal objectives, to further strengthen our progress toward national development.”
“Qatar Leadership Centre has provided the graduates with a rigorous academic foundation that encourages critical thinking,” he stressed.
This year QLC marked the addition of an Executive Master’s degree program in leadership offered by Georgetown University, which is built on the foundational courses of the QLC program. There are 28 Qataris currently enrolled in the inaugural program.
Institutional programs are a third feature of QLC, with programs offered this year to Qatari government institutions, including the Qatar Armed Forces’ Medical Services Department and Qatar Social Work. Past programs have included partnerships with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and Qatar Petroleum.
QLC’s key partnerships include leading institutions: the University of Cambridge, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, HEC Paris, Rice University, University of Oxford, and Al Jazeera Media Institute.
Fahad Thani Saad Al Mesaifri Al Hajri, graduate of first class of EML-Q program, said: “We are very proud to be graduates from this institution because it is a major platform that offers learning the latest management methods and latest methods of leadership.”
“We got a training curriculum combines theoretical and practical sciences provided by qualified staff. In master program, we have learned Crisis Management, Financial Management, International Business Management, and Policy Development,” he added.
Regarding question about women empowering in all specialization, another graduate Maha Al Rumaihi told The Peninsula that all opportunities are open to all men and women whether jobs or specialisations. “Today the number of graduates of women are much more than men.”

الشيخة المياسة: تطوير المهارات القيادية لتنمية رأس المال البشري
قالت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس إدارة مركز قطر للقيادات: “يدعم مركز قطر للقيادات تنمية وتطوير المهارات القيادية اللازمة لتنمية رأس المال البشري، خاصة بالنظر للمعدل السريع والتنوع الاقتصادي والتحول السريع في الإنتاج المحلي الذي نشهده اليوم.”
جاء ذلك في حفل تخريج 118 منتسباً ومنتسبة لمركز قطر للقيادات بمتحف قطر الوطني، بحضور كبار الشخصيات وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي لدى الدولة.
وتابعت سعادتها قائلة “يعد متحف قطر الوطني أيقونة معمارية في خدمة التعليم، تربط ماضي قطر بمستقبلها، فتراثها الغني وتقاليدها هما أسس رؤيتها المستنيرة للتنمية. وبالمثل، فإن خريجي مركز قطر للقيادات تدفعهم قوة إرثنا التاريخي وفوائد الاستثمار في التعليم من أجل تحقيق مستقبل واعد.”
وقد أقام مركز قطر للقيادات حفل تخريج دفعة عام 2019 من منتسبيه في متحف قطر الوطني، وذلك احتفالًا بتخرج 118 خريجا وخريجة من برامج القيادات الثلاثة: التنفيذية، والمستقبلية، والحكومية، إلى جانب الدفعة الأولى من طلبة برنامج الماجستير التنفيذي في القيادة، والذي يعكس توسعًا كبيرًا شهدته برامج المركز على مدار العام الماضي. ويشكل الخريجون الدفعة السادسة من مركز قطر للقيادات منذ تأسيسه بموجب مرسوم أميري أصدره حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، أمير البلاد المفدى.
وأُقيم حفل التخرج بحضور أعضاء مجلس إدارة مركز قطر للقيادات الموقرين سعادة الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن علي آل ثاني، عضو مجلس الإدارة والعضو المنتدب، سعادة السيد صلاح بن غانم العلي وزير الثقافة والرياضة، وسعادة السيد يوسف بن محمد العثمان فخرو، وزير التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية، وسعادة السيد سلطان بن راشد الخاطر، وكيل وزارة التجارة والصناعة.
ومن بين الضيوف الحاضرين، تواجد عدد من كبار المسؤولين بالدولة ومن ممثلي الهيئات الحكومية، وشخصيات مهمة من المجتمع الدبلوماسي بالإضافة إلى حضور ممثلي الجامعات الشريكة لمركز قطر للقيادات، وعائلات وأصدقاء الخريجين، وممثلي وسائل الإعلام المحلية.
وفي سياق تهنئته للخريجين، قال سعادة الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن علي آل ثاني معلقًا: “يعد اجتماعنا اليوم “أمس” لتكريم خريجينا احتفالًا بنجاحهم المتميز، وتذكيرًا لهم بدورهم المتضمن مسؤوليات كبيرة عليهم مواجهتها بهدف المساهمة في تحقيق أهدافنا المجتمعية المشتركة، وتعزيز تقدم الدولة نحو أهداف التنمية الوطنية.”
وأضاف سعادته مؤكدًا على تزويد مركز قطر للقيادات للخريجين بالأساس الأكاديمي القوي، الذي يشجع على التفكير النقدي: “أنا على ثقة تامة بأن خريجينا سيهبون تعليمهم وخبراتهم بتفان من أجل قطر، بينما نواصل المضي قدمًا نحو الأمام في السنوات المقبلة.”
وقد شهد حفل التخرج لهذا العام الحضور الأول لطلاب برنامج الماجستير التنفيذي في القيادة، والذي يتم تقديمه بالتعاون مع جامعة جورجتاون، ليبني على خبرات خريجي برامج تطوير القيادات الوطنية، وتضم الدفعة الأولى من البرنامج 28 من المنتسبين والمنتسبات.
ولدى مركز قطر للقيادات برامج مؤسسية مصممة وفقًا لاحتياجات المؤسسات والهيئات الحكومية المختلفة، ومنها برنامج “سند”، والذي جاء نتيجة لشراكة المركز مع قيادة الخدمات الطبية بالقوات المسلحة القطرية، وبرنامج “بصمتي” بالتعاون مع المؤسسة القطرية للعمل الاجتماعي. ومن بين الشركاء السابقين في البرامج المؤسسية وزارة التعليم، وشركة قطر للبترول.
جدير بالذكر أن مركز قطر للقيادات لديه شراكات محلية وإقليمية ودولية، من أجل تقديم برامج تطوير القيادات الوطنية بشكل يتيح التفاعل المباشر ونقل للمعرفة بين المنتسبين والأكاديميين والخبراء المتخصصين الذين يزورون الدوحة لتقديم وحدات تعليمية من أعرق الجامعات، والتي تتضمن جامعة كامبريدج، كلية بوث لإدارة الأعمال بجامعة شيكاغو، جامعة ديوك، جامعة هارفارد، جامعة جورجتاون، كلية اتش إي سي باريس، جامعة أوكسفورد ومعهد الجزيرة للإعلام وغيرها.
