Innovations, technology on display at Ooredoo Innovation Roadshow

DOHA: Ooredoo elevated Qatar’s standing as a burgeoning global hub for innovation, technology and entrepreneurship after the recent success of its second Ooredoo Innovation Roadshow in Doha.

The event attracted hundreds of innovators from around the world, including department heads from the Government of Qatar, entrepreneurs, business leaders, technology experts and futurists. As well, global companies such as Ericsson, Google, Microsoft and many more, took part in the event to showcase their innovations. Ooredoo’s ecosystem of start-up incubators, accelerators, channel partners and customers also exchanged best practices and shared knowledge with their global counterparts.

Young Qatari entrepreneur Khalid Al Kubaisi began the roadshow with a motivational, inspirational speech, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem creation. Khalid – a cybersecurity professional and PhD student – specialises in blockchain technology at HBKU and founded Qchain, a start-up intended to innovate and disrupt the cybersecurity domain.

A wide range of innovations, technologies and start-ups was on display at the event. Ooredoo showcased future transport solutions with its Flying Taxi VR experience; Roadshow attendees got the chance to sit in the world’s first 5G aerial taxi in Ooredoo Tower while experiencing a VR flight tour over the whole of Qatar. Qatar Computer Research Institute (QCRI) demonstrated research projects in AI & Analytics ready for commercialisation.

Digital & Beyond, a partnership between Qatar Business Incubation Centre (QBIC) and Ooredoo, participated in the Roadshow, demonstrating how corporate entities can work together to support and develop start-ups.

Some innovations being incubated by Ooredoo under the Digital and Beyond incubator, in partnership with QBIC, included: Debit, which has created a system that enables local grocery stores to track their customer spending payments; DXwand, an interactive sales chatbot that drives ecommerce business sales; ASAPP, which aims to improve stadium hospitality through an ordering and delivery service for food and beverages, powered by a mobile application; BFive, which provides a client matching service; and Welfair, a start-up which allows trusted individuals to securely share funds.

Other solutions on show included a network strength tool from Proximie and an IoT gas safety solution from Subol.

Healthcare was also under the spotlight with RIMADS, a connected cloud-based health ecosystem connecting doctors, patients and pharmacies to drive efficiency and better care services.

Also on display by the Ooredoo was Google Assistant and Google MDP integration, both of which allow its customers to manage their mobile data plans.

Underscoring the importance of Qatar as a hub for technology, large corporates also showcased new innovations: Toshiba demonstrated Augmented Reality for B2B solutions that allow collaboration between remote sites with recording, streaming and interaction in real time, while Microsoft demonstrated an AI & Analytics solution and Ericsson demonstrated 5G capabilities.

أسهمت «ooredoo» في تعزيز مكانة قطر بوصفها مركزاً عالمياً للابتكار والتكنولوجيا وريادة الأعمال، بعد النجاح الكبير الذي حققته جولة الابتكار الثانية التي أقامتها الشركة مؤخراً في الدوحة. واستقطبت الجولة مئات المبتكرين من شتى أنحاء العالم، بمن في ذلك مديرو الإدارات في الجهات الحكومية القطرية، وروّاد الأعمال، وقادة الأعمال، وخبراء التكنولوجيا، والمتخصصون في تكنولوجيا المستقبل من الشركات الناشئة ومن كبريات شركات التكنولوجيا مثل «Ericsson»، و»Google»، و»Microsoft»، وغيرها من الشركات الرائدة.

كما تم خلال الجولة تبادل أفضل الممارسات بين حاضنات الشركات الناشئة في «ooredoo»، والداعمين للشركات الناشئة والعملاء والشركاء في قنوات التوزيع. كما تشاركوا المعلومات مع نظرائهم حول العالم.

وافتُتحت الجولة بمشاركة رائد الأعمال القطري خالد الكبيسي، الذي ألقى كلمة حثّ فيها على تهيئة الظروف المواتية لدعم مجتمع الابتكار وريادة الأعمال. ويُعدّ الكبيسي خبيراً في مجال الأمن السيبراني، كما أنه في مرحلة الحصول على شهادة الدكتوراه، ومتخصص في تكنولوجيا «البلوكتشين» بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، ومؤسس «Qchain» وهي شركة ناشئة تركّز على الابتكار في مجال الأمن السيبراني.

ابتكارات تكنولوجية

وعُرض خلال الجولة العديد من الابتكارات والتكنولوجيا الحديثة وأعمال الشركات الناشئة. بدورها، حرصت «ooredoo» على عرض مستقبل حلول المواصلات، مثل تجربة التاكسي الطائر من خلال الواقع الافتراضي. كما حظي زوّار المعرض بفرصة الجلوس داخل أول تاكسي طائر بتكنولوجيا «5G» في مقر «ooredoo»، مع تجربة الرحلات الجوية عبر الواقع الافتراضي فوق شتى أنحاء قطر. كما قام معهد قطر لبحوث الحوسبة بعرض مشاريع بحثية باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي والتحليلات تتميّز بأنها جاهزة للاستخدام تجارياً.

وشاركت في المعرض حاضنة «المنارة الرقمية»، التي تُعدّ ثمرة شراكة مميّزة بين «ooredoo» وحاضنة قطر للأعمال، ودليلاً على نجاح التعاون بين الشركات والمؤسسات الكبرى بهدف تطوير الشركات الناشئة.

مشاريع

وتتضمن لائحة المشاريع التي تتلقى الدعم من «ooredoo» ضمن حاضنة «المنارة الرقمية» وبالتعاون مع حاضنة قطر للأعمال، كلاً من: شركة «Debit» التي صمّمت نظاماً يمكّن محالّ البقالة من تتبّع الدفعات المستحقة على عملائها، وشركة «DXwand» التي صمّمت تطبيق دردشة تفاعلياً للمبيعات يسهم في رفع مبيعات الشركات إلكترونياً، وشركة «ASAPP» التي تسعى إلى تسهيل وتحسين خدمات وتجربة الضيافة في الملاعب الرياضية عبر توفير خدمة طلب وتسليم الطعام والمشروبات للمتفرجين عبر تطبيق للجوال، وشركة «BFive» التي توفّر خدمة محلية للتوافق بين العملاء ومقدمي الخدمات، بالإضافة إلى شركة «Welfair» التي توفّر نظاماً إلكترونياً لمشاركة الأموال والادخار (جمعية) بين الأفراد.

كما تضمنت الحلول المعروضة أداة لتقوية الشبكة صمّمتها شركة «Proximie»، وحلاً للسلامة في مجال الغاز باستخدام إنترنت الأشياء من شركة «Subol».

حضور

وفي دليل جديد على مكانة قطر بوصفها مركزاً عالمياً للتكنولوجيا، حضرت أهم الشركات العالمية الجولة لعرض ابتكاراتها الجديدة؛ إذ عرضت «Toshiba» حلول الشركات باستخدام تقنيات الواقع المعزّز، والتي تتيح التشاركية بين المواقع النائية مع إتاحة خيارات التسجيل والبث والتفاعل بشكل فوري. كما عرضت شركة «Microsoft» حلول الذكاء الاصطناعي والتحليلات، فيما استعرضت «Ericsson» قدرات «5G».

وعن هذه الفعالية المهمة في مجال التكنولوجيا والابتكار، قال يوسف عبدالله الكبيسي، رئيس العمليات في «ooredoo قطر»: «يُعدّ الابتكار في مجال التكنولوجيا عنصراً مهماً لتحقيق التطوّر؛ ما يتيح للأفراد تحقيق قدراتهم الكاملة لبناء مجتمع متنوع ومزدهر ودعم الاقتصاد العالمي. فهذه الجولة تهدف إلى عرض أحدث ما توصلت إليه الشركات في مجال التكنولوجيا والابتكار من شتى أنحاء العالم، ومن خلال شركات عريقة وأخرى ناشئة. ونحن فخورون باستضافة مثل هذه الفعالية في قطر في وقت تسعى فيه إلى تثبيت مكانتها مركزاً عالمياً للشركات الناشئة؛ جزءاً من استراتيجية قطر الوطنية 2030».
