Aspire leads 70,000 to world of fantasy and folktales

Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) on Tuesday said the inaugural Aspire Wonderland Festival received more than 70,000 visitors over seven days.

The festival, thought to be the “first of its kind” in Qatar, concluded on Monday. Visitors who flocked to Aspire Park entered a world of fantasy and folk tales, AZF said in a statement. They also had the chance to witness a “spectacular dancing water fountain on Aspire Lake that moved to the sounds of majestic melodies and featured advanced laser techniques”.

During the seven-day festival, AZF said it used more than 400,000 LED light-bulbs, 3,000m of electrical wires and 20 projector systems to design 310 characters. The festival was aided by facilitation processes that AZF provided for adults, children and persons with special needs to reach the event site.

Nasser Abdullah al-Hajri, director of PR and Communication at AZF, said: “We are proud to have welcomed such vast numbers of visitors to AZF, and for the successful use of our resources and world-class facilities to serve the community in new and exciting ways.

“Over the past week, we succeeded in adding new and distinctive activities to Qatar’s calendar and plan to provide more in the coming period. I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to the sponsors, partners and AZF’s team for their unceasing efforts in making the event a success.”

The festival was sponsored by Vodafone Qatar and Katara–the Cultural Village Foundation.

اختتمت مساء الاثنين الماضي فعاليات مهرجان «أسباير أرض العجائب» بعد سبعة أيام من الإبداع والخيال، وسط إشادة جماهيرية واسعة بالمهرجان الأول من نوعه في قطر.

ونجح المهرجان في اجتذاب ما يزيد عن 70 ألف زائر توافدوا على المهرجان الذي ألهم مخيلة الصغار والكبار على حد سواء، بعد أن أحال ليل «أسباير» لفصل من فصول الروايات الخيالية، سار الزوار خلالها بين سطور ساحرة طوعت «أسباير زون» خلالها تقنيات الإسقاط الضوئي وتراكيبه المبتكرة وعروض بحيرة «أسباير» باستخدام تقنيات الليزر.

واستخدمت مؤسسة «أسباير زون» لتقديم هذا المهرجان المبهر ما يزيد عن 400 ألف مصباح LED لتشييد 310 مجسمات مصنعة خصيصاً للمهرجان باستخدام 3000 متر من الأسلاك الكهربائية و20 جهاز إسقاط ضوئي، والتي طوعت فيها «أسباير» كل عناصر الطبيعة المحيطة كالأشجار وبحيرتها الخلابة للخروج بهذا العرض الساحر للنور.
