وصول بايرن ميونيخ لمعسكر الدوحة التدريبي
European giants Bayern Munich arrived in Doha yesterday for a training camp at Aspire Zone.
For the tenth time in total, the record champions will prepare for part two of the Bundesliga campaign in Qatar, laying the foundations for a successful second half of the season.
Bayern coach Hansi Flick has just six days on the spacious grounds of the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence in Doha to ensure his squad achieves the “optimal level of fitness required for three competitions.”
With a total of 26 players, Flick and his coaching staff will be working in Doha until 10 January.
However, four players from the pro squad will not be making the trip to the country that will host the 2022 World Cup: In addition to long-term absentee Niklas Süle (torn cruciate ligament), Javi Martínez (muscle injury), Robert Lewandowski (groin surgery) and Kingsley Coman (torn capsule in the left knee) are also out of action.
Following ankle surgery, World Cup winner Lucas Hernández will continue to work on his comeback in the Qatari capital and he’s already penned-in to complete parts of the team training. Michaël Cuisance and Fiete Arp will are also back after recovering from their injuries.
Apart from Bayern Munich, Holland’s PSV Eindhoven (January 4 to 12) Belgium’s Club Brugge ( January 4 to 12) , AFC Ajax (January 4 to 12), Kas Eupen (January 7 to 14), FC Zenit ( January 13 to 25) and Red Bull Salzburg ( January 16 to 26) will also hold their training camps at Aspire Zone.
Aspire training camps attract athletes from the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, Europe and beyond, helping to demonstrate sport’s ability to bridge cultures.
This year, AZF has high hopes for further success in using sport to bring people together.
