Sheikha Moza to take part in Silatech forum in Geneva

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Silatech’s Board of Trustees, member of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will participate tomorrow in a high-level forum organised by Silatech under the theme “Empowering Youth, Transforming Societies” in Geneva.
Sheikha Moza will address Silatech’s commitment to empowering young people economically, as well as announcing ambitious future plans to create more jobs and reduce the negative impact of unemployment, including illegal immigration and extremism.
This event comes at a time of sharp rise in unemployment, especially in areas suffering from political conflicts or social unrest.
Silatech will renew its commitment to empower young men and women, it will announce its next goal on the creation of employment opportunities to reduce the problem of unemployment and its negative effects.
A number of personalities from the United Nations, the European Union, the United Nations organisations concerned with social and economic development and a number of influential public figures from various sectors of the international community as well as the partner organisations of Sultak will participate in the event.
Sabah al-Haidous, CEO of the Silatech, said: “In this event, we aim to put youth empowerment issues on top of the international agenda for development action. We also urge the international community to do more to address unemployment and invest in youth development in order to contribute to the promotion of economy and peace for the security of our peoples and the world as a whole, we at Silatech support our country’s commitment to the implementation of the International Counter-Terrorism Strategy because we believe that youth are the foundation of the renaissance of nations.”
Since its inception in 2008, Silatech has been working to combat unemployment, poverty, extremism and marginalisation of young people by implementing innovative programs and solutions that have contributed more than 1mn jobs to young people in the Middle East and Africa to become productive participants and contribute to advancing development and enhancing security and stability in their communities.

وستلقي صاحبة السمو كلمة حول التزام «صلتك» بتمكين الشباب اقتصادياً، بالإضافة إلى الإعلان عن خطط مستقبلية طموحة لخلق مزيد من فرص العمل والحد من التأثير السلبي للبطالة، بما في ذلك الهجرة غير الشرعية والتطرف.
يأتي هذا الحدث في وقت يشهد ارتفاعاً حاداً في نسبة البطالة، لا سيما في المناطق التي تعاني من صراعات سياسية أو اضطرابات اجتماعية، وستجدد «صلتك» التزامها بتمكين الشباب والشابات، حيث سيتم الإعلان عن هدفها المقبل المتعلق باستحداث فرص عمل للحد من مشكلة البطالة وآثارها السلبية.
ويشارك في الحدث عدد من الشخصيات البارزة من الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي والمنظمات الأممية المعنية بالتنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، وعدد من الشخصيات الرسمية المؤثرة من مختلف قطاعات المجتمع الدولي، بالإضافة إلى المنظمات الشريكة لـ «صلتك».
وفي هذه المناسبة، صرّحت الأستاذة صباح الهيدوس -الرئيسة التنفيذية لـ «صلتك»- قائلة: «نسعى في هذا الحدث إلى وضع قضايا تمكين الشباب في أولوية الأجندة الدولية للعمل التنموي، كما نسعى إلى حث المجتمع الدولي على بذل المزيد لمعالجة البطالة والاستثمار في تنمية الشباب؛ حتى يسهموا في تعزيز الاقتصاد والسلم من أجل أمن شعوبنا والعالم ككل. فنحن في (صلتك) ندعم جهود دولتنا في التزامها بتنفيذ الاستراتيجية الدولية لمكافحة الإرهاب؛ لإيماننا بأن الشباب هم أساس نهضة الأمم».
وعكفت «صلتك» منذ تأسيسها في عام 2008، على مكافحة البطالة والفقر والتطرف وتهميش الشباب، من خلال تنفيذ برامج وحلول مبتكرة أسهمت في توفير أكثر من مليون وظيفة للشباب في الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، ليصبحوا أفراداً مشاركين منتجين، ويسهموا في دفع عجلة التنمية وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في مجتمعاتهم.
