Qatar Social Responsibility Network honours QIIB
تكريم «الدولي الإسلامي» لجهوده في مجال المسؤولية الاجتماعية
Qatar Social Responsibility Network (QSRN) honoured QIIB as one of the 2018 CSR leaders during a ceremony held at the Qatar University in the presence of the Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Hammadi.
Heads of government and non-government bodies and institutions, and diplomats were among the dignitaries who attended the event.
Omar Abdul Aziz Al Meer, QIIB Head (Business Development) received a commemorative shield from the President of Qatar University, Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham.
Commenting on QIIB being honoured by Qatar University, QIIB Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jamal Al Jamal said: “We are very pleased with this award, which is given to us at Qatar University, the academic edifice that we are proud of and from where many generations have graduated and contributed to our country’s development and advancement under the leadership of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.”
He said: “We meet our Corporate Social Responsibility based on the standards that are focused on serving our country and people. We believe that efforts to gain profitability are important. But at the same time, supporting non-profit activities that serve the community is worthy of all efforts. We believe that corporate social responsibility is not a mere slogan, but something that has to be put into practice. It opens wide horizons for the development of societies and creates constructive and effective cooperation among the various parties capable of participating in the overall development of the society”.
Al Jamal noted: “We took numerous CSR initiatives and supported education as well as many medical, social, sports, cultural and charitable activities. We also helped train, place and empower Qatari staff in the most important positions in the Bank, particularly at the higher management level, as part of a broader vision that focuses on national capacity enhancement and to participate in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030”.
“The vital role we play in serving our community involves provision of integrated banking services that meet the requirements of different segments, based on fair terms and conditions. We are also working hard to develop Islamic banking and support small and medium-sized enterprises, which is a key driver in national economic development.”
The Deputy CEO also noted that: “The effective partnerships established between QIIB and different institutions, companies and associations have borne fruits. Profitable institutions now have a better understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and a greater involvement therein, which will eventually lead to quantitative and qualitative results that will help achieve the goals of CSR programs”.
Al Jamal expressed QIIB’s thanks and appreciation to Qatar Social Responsibility Network and Qatar University for honouring the bank for its role in serving the society.
He affirmed that QIIB will continue to play its role and enhance its initiatives in various fields related to Corporate Social Responsibility for the benefit of the country at large.
تقديراً لجهوده ومبادراته في مجال المسؤولية الاجتماعية، اختير «الدولي الإسلامي» من قبل شبكة قطر للمسؤولية الاجتماعية ضمن الجهات المكرّمة خلال الحفل الذي أُقيم بجامعة قطر لتكريم قادة المسؤولية الاجتماعية عن العام 2018، بحضور سعادة الدكتور محمد عبدالواحد الحمادي وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي، وعدد من رؤساء الهيئات والمؤسسات الحكومية وغير الحكومية، وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي، وكبار الشخصيات، ومهتمين بحقل المسوؤلية الاجتماعية.
تسلّم السيد عمر عبدالعزيز المير -رئيس تطوير الأعمال في «الدولي الإسلامي»- درع التكريم من رئيس جامعة قطر الدكتور حسن الدرهم.
أهداف
وبهذه المناسبة، صرّح السيد جمال عبدالله الجمال -نائب الرئيس التنفيذي في «الدولي الإسلامي»- قائلاً: «نحن سعداء للغاية بهذا التكريم، خصوصاً لأنه في جامعة قطر الصرح الأكاديمي الذي نفخر به، والذي خرّج أجيالاً ساهمت في نهضة بلادنا ووصولها إلى هذا المستوى الحضاري المتميّز الذي نعيشه تحت قيادة حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى».
وأضاف: «إن مسؤوليتنا الاجتماعية نقوم بها وفق معايير تشمل هدفاً مركزياً وهو خدمة بلادنا وشعبنا. فنحن نعتقد أن الأنشطة الربحية هي ميدان مهم في نشاطنا، ولكن في الوقت نفسه فإن دعم الأنشطة اللاربحية التي تصبّ في خدمة المجتمع تستحق كل العناية، ونؤمن بأن المسؤولية الاجتماعية ليست شعارات؛ بل هي فعل وممارسة حقيقية ذات أبعاد ومضامين مؤسسية ومنظمة، تفتح آفاقاً واسعة أمام تطوّر المجتمعات، وتخلق تعاوناً بنّاء وفعّالاً بين مختلف الأطراف القادرة على المشاركة في تنمية المجتمع».
مبادرات
وأوضح الجمال: «لقد قمنا بكثير من المبادرات في مجال مسؤوليتنا الاجتماعية دعماً للتعليم، عبر مبادرات متنوعة أو دعم أنشطة طبية واجتماعية ورياضية وثقافية وخيرية عديدة، فضلاً عن الاهتمام بشكل كبير بالكوادر القطرية وتأهيلها وتمكينها في أهم الوظائف في البنك، ولا سيما الإدارة العليا، وكل ذلك جزء من رؤية أشمل تركّز على التنمية بمفهومها الواسع والمشاركة في تنفيذ رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030».
وشدّد على أن الدور الحيوي الذي نقوم به أيضاً في خدمة مجتمعنا هو تقديم خدمات مصرفية متكاملة تلاقي متطلبات مختلف شرائح المجتمع، وفق مواصفات وشروط عادلة، كما نعمل بشكل حثيث على تطوير الصيرفة الإسلامية ودعم المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة التي تُعدّ أحد أهم البرامج التي تطبّقها الدول لتحفيز التنمية الأفقية التي تفيد أكبر شريحة من المجتمع.
