QIB takes part in 13th Qatar University Career Fair

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) participated in the 13th edition of the Qatar University Career Fair, which was held last week at QU.

The annual fair is organised by the QU Career Centre as part of the university’s efforts to enrich and diversify the experience of its students and graduates and connect them with the world of business.

QIB’s participation in the annual QU career fair “reflects its strategy of co-operation with educational institutions in the country and attracting local talents to work in the bank”, it said in a statement. The career fair provides an opportunity for QIB’s Human Capital team to meet with students and alumni for four days and introduce them to Islamic banking activities and the promising jobs the bank offers.

Khalefa al-Mesalam, QIB’s head of Human Capital Group, said: “QIB is committed to investing in local talents, and it has succeeded in achieving its goals over the past few years. The bank managed to recruit a large number of Qataris, especially university graduates. We will continue to pursue this strategy and to develop the skills of our Qatari employees through constant training and professional development.

“By participating in such events, it creates an opportunity to introduce the bank, banking activities and professional advice to students, which serves the objectives of the banking sector and our goal of building a national workforce capable of leading the Bank’s business today and in the future.”

Al-Mesalam noted that QIB has a special relationship with QU, with the bank welcoming a group of students from the university’s College of Business and Economics every summer for training and internships. Additionally, the bank sponsors a number of students who are currently studying in the university. “Recently, we have also started offering Qatar University students the opportunity to attend the programme, ‘How Money works?’, which is delivered by QIB in partnership with Injaz Qatar,” he added.

The ‘How Money works?’ programme is a five-hour training with interactive and engaging sessions, tailored specifically to educate secondary school and university freshmen students aged 15 to 19 years on managing their finances. The programme explores ways to earn money and manage it prudently by budgeting, saving and investing.

شارك مصرف قطر الإسلامي «المصرف» في فعاليات المعرض المهني السنوي الثالث عشر، الذي نظمه المركز المهني بجامعة قطر مؤخراً. وتأتي هذه الفعالية تماشياً مع أهداف جامعة قطر في إثراء وتنويع التجربة الجامعية لطلابها، من خلال التواصل مع المؤسسات وهيئات المجتمع التي تخدم هذه الأهداف وتعزز المفهوم المهني لطلبة وخريجي جامعة قطر.

وتأتي مشاركة «المصرف» في فعاليات المعرض المهني الثالث عشر لجامعة قطر في إطار حرصه الدائم على التعاون مع المؤسسات التعليمية بالبلاد، وتماشياً مع استراتيجيته لاستقطاب الكفاءات والكوادر الوطنية؛ حيث يشكل هذا المعرض فرصة مناسبة للالتقاء بالطلاب على مدى 4 أيام، تمكّن خلالها موظفو مجموعة الموارد البشرية بـ «المصرف» من تعريف طلاب جامعة قطر وزوار المعرض بأنشطة الصيرفة الإسلامية، وفرص العمل الواعدة التي يوفرها «المصرف» للخريجين.

وتعليقاً على المشاركة في المعرض المهني لجامعة قطر، قال السيد خليفة المسلم رئيس مجموعة الموارد البشرية في «المصرف»: «إن للمصرف استراتيجية بعيدة المدى للاستثمار في الموارد البشرية الوطنية؛ حيث يعمل المصرف منذ سنوات طويلة على استقطاب الخريجين والمواهب القطرية الشابة، لتوظيفهم في القطاعات المختلفة بالمصرف، تماشياً مع رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030. إن للمصرف التزاماً قوياً بالاستثمار في الكوادر الوطنية، واستطاع أن يحقق إنجازات كبيرة خلال الأعوام السابقة؛ حيث استطعنا استقطاب عدد كبير من القطريين، خاصة خريجي الجامعات، وسنواصل القيام بذلك وفق استراتيجية ثابتة والعمل على تطوير مهارات الكوادر الوطنية بالتدريب المستمر، وإتاحة فرص التقدم الوظيفي لهم».

تعريف

وأضاف خليفة المسلم: «تعتبر المشاركة في مثل هذه الفعاليات فرصة لتعريف الطلاب بالمصرف وأنشطته المصرفية، وتقديم المشورة المهنية لهم، خاصة أن ذلك كله يصب في خدمة أهداف القطاع المصرفي، وهدفنا بناء قوى وطنية عاملة قادرة على قيادة أعمال المصرف اليوم وفي المستقبل».

واختتم خليفة المسلم تصريحه: «إن للمصرف علاقة متميزة مع جامعة قطر؛ حيث يستقبل سنوياً مجموعة من طلاب كلية الإدارة والاقتصاد للتدريب خلال العطلة الصيفية. ويرعى المصرف عدداً من الطلاب الذين يدرسون بالجامعة. كما بدأنا مؤخراً أيضاً إتاحة الفرصة لطلاب وطالبات جامعة قطر للاستفادة من برنامج «كيف تدير الأموال؟» الذي ينفذه المصرف بالتعاون مع مؤسسة إنجاز قطر».

«كيف تدير الأموال؟» هو برنامج مدته 5 ساعات تدريبية، مع جلسات تفاعلية ممتعة صممت خصيصاً لطلاب المدارس الثانوية وطلاب السنتين الأولى والثانية في الجامعات، ممن تتراوح أعمارهم بين 15 و19 عاماً، لمساعدتهم على تعلّم طرق إدارة أموالهم. وتناقش جلسات البرنامج طرق كسب المال وإدارته بحكمة من خلال وضع الميزانية والتوفير والاستثمار.;
