QCDC gears up for Career Village 2019

Doha: Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, is finalising preparations for the 2019 edition of the Career Village, an event aimed at instilling a strong career culture among high school students and familiarising youth with the dynamics and challenges of Qatar’s job market.

The three-day event, which takes place from February 26-28 at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), will introduce students to career fields that will enable them to best serve their country. It will be open to visitors from 8am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm.

The event will bring together representatives of leading companies from across different industries in Qatar, including education, culture, finance and business, energy, manufacturing, transportation, communications, health, media, and security.

Exhibitors will brief visitors on professions in their respective industries and familiarise students with career opportunities and required academic tracks, while engaging visitors in a series of interactive activities to provide first-hand insight into the professions.

Additionally, the Career Village will also host a number of workshops that will help equip students with a range of life skills.

Ultimately, the event is intended to help visitors better plan their future career path.

Abdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori, Director, QCDC, said: “This year’s edition of the Career Village seeks to introduce students to the concepts of career guidance, and to instil a new culture among members of the Qatari community through the training workshops that will be held throughout the event.

“The event will also offer students the opportunity to meet with a number of entrepreneurs who will brief them on how they secured support to kick-start their projects.”

A Mini Career Village will be the latest addition to the event, enabling children aged 5-10 years to learn about various careers and professions in a entertaining and interactive way.

Finally, an exhibition featuring a selection of photographs provided by participating institutions will be organised on the sidelines of the event.

The images will show the stages of development of the exhibiting institutions, as well as the sector or professions they cover – from inception to the present day. It will also feature images of key personalities that contributed in establishing and developing these institutions and sectors.

ينظم مركز قطر للتطوير المهني “القرية المهنية 2019″، خلال الفترة من 26 إلى 28 فبراير الجاري، التي تأتي بهدف ترسيخ الثقافة المهنية لدى طلبة وطالبات المرحلة الثانوية، وإعدادهم لمواجهة التحديات التي يفرضها سوق العمل القطري، بالإضافة إلى تعريفهم بأفضل المجالات التي يمكن أن يخدموا المجتمع من خلالها.

وستضم القرية المهنية ممثلين عن شركات ومؤسسات رائدة في دولة قطر تظم قطاعات التعليم، والمال والأعمال، والطاقة والصناعة، والمواصلات والاتصالات، والصحة، والإعلام، والأمن، والثقافة حيث سيجيبون عن أسئلة الزوار حول المهن التي يمثلونها، ويعرفون الطلبة بالمسارات المهنية المتاحة أمامهم، والتخصصات المؤدية لهذه المسارات، بالإضافة إلى تقديم أنشطة تفاعلية للتعرف على المهن المتوفرة بشكل عملي.

وقال السيد عبدالله أحمد المنصوري، المدير التنفيذي لمركز قطر للتطوير المهني، إن نسخة هذا العام من القرية المهنية هدفها تعريف الطلبة بمفاهيم الإرشاد والتوجيه المهني، وغرس مفردات جديدة بالمجتمع القطري، وذلك عبر الورش التدريبية التي ستُقدم خلال فعاليات القرية،

بالإضافة إلى إتاحة المجال للطلبة للقاء عدد من الأشخاص ممن لديهم مشروعات خاصة، والتعرف على طرق تأسيسها والجهات الداعمة لهم.

ويشتمل برنامج القرية المهنية على أنشطة تفاعلية، حيث سيزور الطلبة أجنحة مخصصة للجهات المشاركة التي تعرض فيها أنشطة تفاعلية، حتى تتاح لهم فرصة التعرف على المهن المتنوعة والمتطلبات اللازمة في حال رغبوا في اختيار العمل بالمجال نفسه، وهو الأمر الذي سيساعدهم على التخطيط بشكل أفضل للمسارات المهنية التي يفضلونها، كما تستضيف القرية مجموعة من الورش التدريبية الخاصة بتنمية المهارات الحياتية لدى الطلبة.

وتعتبر “القرية المهنية المصغرة” المخصصة للأطفال من سن 5 إلى 10 سنوات، إضافة مميزة لهذه النسخة، حيث ستُتاح للأطفال فرصة التعرف على العديد من المهن والتخصصات بطريقة ممتعة وجذابة ومليئة بالمرح والأنشطة التفاعلية.

وسيتم تنظيم، على هامش القرية المهنية، معرض فني لمجموعة مختارة من الصور تقدمها الجهات والمؤسسات المشاركة، والتي توضح مراحل تطور المؤسسة أو القطاع أو المهن التي تضمها، منذ بدايتها وحتى اليوم، كما سيضم المعرض صورًا للشخصيات المهمة التي ساهمت في إنشاء وتطوير وإثراء تلك القطاعات والمؤسسات.
