Qatar public parks to host family entertainment activities
البلدية تطلق سلسلة من الفعاليات الترفيهية بعنوان “أيام المرح”
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) represented by the Public Parks Department (PPD), Sasol, and Oryx GTL announced the launch of ‘Fun Days with Qatar e-Nature’, a series of family entertainment activities in seven public parks in Qatar.
It is an initiative designed to raise environmental awareness and promote knowledge in an interactive and engaging way. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the PPD headquarters and attended by the officials from the organising parties as well as representatives of Vodafone Qatar, the official telecommunication sponsor of the event.
Speakers at the press conference reviewed the activities and competitions that will be held as part of the Fun Days activities over 7 Fridays, starting on February 8 and ending on March 22, 2019, from two to 6pm every Friday.
The activities will be held consecutively in Izghawa Park (February 8), Al Shahaniya Park (February 15), Khor Plaza Park (February 22),Celebration Square Park — Al Daayen (March 1), Al Legtaifiya Park (March 8), Al Shamal Park (March 15) and Al Wakrah Public Garden (March 22). Each park will host a fun day so that all areas and communities in Qatar will be covered.
The Fun Days with Qatar e-Nature will feature exciting competitions, fun activities, planting experiences, and interactive games, in addition to various sports such as zumba, karate, and kickboxing.
Gymmito Fitness Club will present a balance game for children; Vodafone Qatar will present an augmented reality game to educate children about online safety; and Sasol will present a ‘small steps for healthy habits’ game. Moreover, ‘This is Qatar’ will offer photography workshops for adults.
Talking to The Peninsula, Director of Public Parks Department, Mohammed Al Khoori, said: “The aim behind this initiative is to promote public parks and raise awareness among public to engage themselves in healthy lifestyle. This initiative is to encourage to plant trees and increase more greenery. We thank Sasol and Oryx GTL for this initiative and we wish all family members a great time in the seven parks.”
Winners in the weekly contests, and in a draw that will take place at the end of the Fun Days, will receive valuable prizes presented by the sponsors and supporters of the event including Vodafone Qatar, Flik Cinema, AURA, and Baladna Farm. The prizes include mobile phones, cinema tickets, entertainment vouchers, and more.
Qatar e-Nature is the first smartphone application of its kind. It sheds light on Qatar’s rich environmental diversity.
Jack Saba, General Manager of Public Affairs at Sasol, said: “Fun Days with Qatar e-Nature is an extension of the Qatar e-Nature initiative, reflecting Sasol’s commitment to raise environmental awareness and educate people about the rich diversity of Qatar’s nature and the importance of protecting the environment.”
Mohamed Al Enazi, Chief Administration Officer at Oryx GTL, said: “We are pleased to be part of this important environmental event, which is in line with Oryx GTL’s vision and commitment to raise environmental awareness among the public and encourage children to plant trees.”

تطلق وزارة البلدية والبيئة وعدد من شركائها سلسلة من الأنشطة الترفيهية العائلية تحت عنوان “أيام المرح مع Qatar e-Nature” تبدأ اعتبارا من يوم /الجمعة/ المقبل في 7 حدائق عامة، بهدف زيادة الوعي البيئي في المجتمع واكتساب المعرفة بطريقة تفاعلية وممتعة.
جاء ذلك في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم استعرض فيه المنظمون الفعاليات التي تنظمها جهاتهم والتي تتضمن مزيجا من المسابقات الممتعة والألعاب الترفيهية وتجارب الزراعة، والألعاب التفاعلية، بالإضافة إلى عدد من الأنشطة الرياضية ومنها تلك التي تخص الأطفال لا سيما من حيث تثقيفهم حول السلامة الإلكترونية والعادات الصحية، فضلا عن ورش التصوير الفوتوغرافي للبالغين وغيرها من النشاطات.
ستقام الفعاليات في كل يوم جمعة من 8 فبراير الجاري وحتى 22 مارس المقبل في 7 حدائق عامة بالدولة لضمان وصولها لشتى مناطق وعائلات قطر وهي: حدائق أزغوي ولقطيفية والوكرة العائلية وسميسمة والشحانية والشمال ومنتزه الخور.
وفي كلمته خلال المؤتمر الصحفي، قال السيد محمد الخوري مدير إدارة الحدائق العامة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، إن الوزارة تعمل عبر جميع قطاعاتها لتعزيز ثقافة الاستدامة وحماية البيئة وتشجيع المجتمع على الزراعة وزيادة المساحات الخضراء، خاصة لدى جيل الشباب، وهو ما يتماشى مع أهداف برنامج أيام المرح ومبادرة Qatar e-Nature بشكل عام، متمنيا وقتا ممتعا ومفيدا لجميع أفراد الأسر التي تحضر الفعاليات والأنشطة.
يذكر أن أسئلة المسابقات ضمن برنامج الفعاليات تستند في معلوماتها إلى المحتوى المتوفر مجانا على تطبيق Qatar e-Nature وموقعه الإلكتروني باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، والذي أطلقته شركة ساسول، ويضم معلومات موثقة ومتنوعة حول النباتات والطيور والحشرات والزواحف والثدييات والحياة البحرية والمحميات الطبيعية في البلاد، وهو أول تطبيق من نوعه للهواتف الذكية، يسلط الضوء على التنوع الغني للبيئة في قطر.
