Property owners and developers invited to supply residential units for Qatar 2022

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has invited property owners and developers to submit expressions of interest in providing residential accommodation during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Property owners interested in leasing their units for a period of either six, 12 or 18 months must apply via the SC’s website. The closing date for applications is March 7. The rent offered to owners will be based on the size, standard and location of the units.

Owners will be expected to provide a turnkey solution for their properties, which must be fully furnished and adhere to a minimum service level agreement. Property owners will also be required to provide a shuttle bus if their units are more than 1km from public transport nodes.

Fatima Fakhro, the SC’s vice chairman, Host Country Operation Affairs, said: “We are keen to utilise the existing housing stock in Qatar to support our accommodation requirements for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. We believe this is a sustainable solution which ensures excess hotel rooms won’t go to waste after the tournament.”

Fakhro added: “There will be a range of accommodation options in 2022, including fan villages, cruise ships and traditional hotels. Adding serviced apartments from our existing stock of residential accommodation will help us to cater for all budgets, both in the lead-up to and during the tournament.”

Applicants must have accommodation in either a villa compound, apartment tower or mixed-use development. Under-construction properties will be considered, but these properties must be completed by the end of 2021.

دعت اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، مالكي ومطوّري العقارات والوحدات السكنية في قطر، للتقدم بطلب لإبداء رغبتهم في توفير أماكن إقامة للزوار والمشجعين خلال بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم «قطر 2022».

وأوضحت اللجنة أنه يتوجب على الملاك الراغبين في تأجير مساكن أو وحدات سكنية لمدة 6 أو 12 أو 18 شهراً التقدم بطلب إليها عبر موقعها الإلكتروني، وأن آخر موعد لتقديم الطلبات هو الخميس 7 مارس المقبل، لافتة إلى أن قيمة الإيجار سوف تحدد وفق مساحة الوحدة السكنية، ومعايير جاهزيتها، وموقعها الجغرافي.

وأكدت «الإرث» ضرورة تجهيز مالك العقار الوحدة السكنية التي يرغب في تأجيرها بالكامل، وأن تتوافر فيها الخدمات الأساسية اللازمة للمستأجر، وأن يلتزم مالك العقار بتوفير وسيلة نقل للمستأجر إذا ما كانت الوحدة السكنية تبعد أكثر من كيلومتر واحد عن محطات النقل العام.

وقالت فاطمة فخرو -نائب رئيس مكتب العمليات لشؤون تنظيم البطولة- في اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث: «تهدف هذه الخطوة إلى الاستفادة من العقارات والمساكن المتاحة في قطر، ودعم جهود اللجنة في توفير خيارات إقامة متعددة للزوار والمشجعين خلال مونديال 2022»، وأضافت: «أن هذا التوجه سوف يجسّد مفهوم الاستدامة، ويضمن عدم بناء فنادق ووحدات سكنية زائدة عن حاجة السوق المحلي بعد البطولة».

وأكدت فخرو حرص «الإرث» على توفير باقة من خيارات الإقامة للقادمين إلى قطر بحلول عام 2022، من فنادق، وقرى مشجعين، وبواخر سياحية، وقالت: «إن إضافة الوحدات السكنية المؤثثة سوف تساهم في توفير خيارات إقامة إضافية تلبي احتياجات الزوار، وتلائم ميزانياتهم خلال البطولة أو قبلها»، لافتة إلى أنه يُشترط أن يكون العقار المراد تأجيره ضمن مجمع فلل، أو برج سكني، أو مبانٍ متعددة الاستخدام، وأوضحت أنه سوف يتم وضع العقارات تحت الإنشاء في عين الاعتبار، بشرط أن يُستكمل بناؤها نهاية عام 2021.;
