A variety of events on the sidelines of the 16th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition offer visitors an unforgettable experience

DOHA, 23 February 2019: For the fourth day in a row, the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2019 is witnessing a significant turnout of visitors at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), with more than 500 premium watch and jewellery brands from over 10 countries exhibiting on its dazzling show floor. DJWE offers a full programme of activities, workshops and interactive discussion sessions to give visitors and industry stakeholders practical experience in the jewellery and watches industry.

Workshops and Events for Watch Lovers
French watchmakers Objectif Horlogerie are offering “Discover Watchmaking” workshops, offering informative experiences of the watchmaking industry, and participants receive certificates of participation. Objectif Horlogerie also offers exclusive, paid workshops for interested watch lovers. Participants will be able to make their own timepiece with the same equipment and techniques as Objective Horlogerie and keep the watches they create.

Daily talks are held at the DJWE Majlis at 4pm and 5pm, with French expert Geoffroy Ader. Participants learn about the latest technologies used by the world’s leading brands in their collection of watches, as well as free consultations. Ader is recognized as an expert in modern and vintage watches. He joined French auction house Artcurial in 2016, where he works with some of the most famous watch collections from around the world. The newly formed Qatar Watch Club (QWC) has been hosting gatherings at the Majlis at 6pm every evening, with a presentation from one different watch brand a day, including Vacheron Constantin, Moritz Grossmann and Chopard. QWC is also hosting the Turkish Watches Club, who have come to Doha especially for DJWE.

Experiencing Jewellery and Gemstones
Other exclusive offerings are jewellery-making workshops, where craftsmen showcase the art of crafting jewellery and take attendees through the various steps in the process, including wax modelling stone setting initiations, as well as how to identify and evaluate precious and semi-precious stones. Participants also receive completion certificates for these highly educational workshops. For those purchasing jewellery at DJWE, an expert gemmologist is available for consultations. The Indian Pavilion
As part of the Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019, this year’s exhibition has been dedicated to a collection of 13 luxury Indian jewellery brands: Noor Jewels, AKM Mehrasons Jewellers, Jagan Nath Hem Chand, Amore Jewels, KK Jewels, Divya Jewels, Lotus Gems, Iris Jewels, Sital Dass Son, Shrians Jewels, LS Enterprise, Deviva Jewels, and Champalal and Co. Jewellers. The exhibitors’ designs reflect the artistic diversity and cultural heritage of all regions of India, making the visit a focus of attention for all attendees. The pavilion was organized by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, established under the auspices of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The opening ceremony of the event was hosted by Qatar Airways, the official airline partner of the exhibition, and Indian cinema and fashion icon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who visited the Indian Pavilion accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Qatar. Aishwarya has seen the fine jewellery of her country’s designers in the custom suite and listened to an explanation of the history of some of the unique pieces shown by the designers.

Visitors to DJWE on February 24, will be part of one of the most important events, the second edition of the charity auction. The proceeds from this year’s auction will benefit Education Above All (EAA), a global movement which contributes to human, social and economic development through the provision of quality education to those in need.

DJWE is partnering with French auction house, Artcurial, and auctioneer Geoffroy Ader to run the live auction of 11 luxurious Qatari-designed jewellery pieces. Ten of the signature pieces were designed by Young Qatari Designers (YQDs) taking part in DJWE 2019, while Qatari designer, Mariam Al Khalaf, is also participating in the auction. All the pieces have been showcased during the exhibition so that visitors could enjoy their striking beauty and inspiring designs.

DJWE is open to visitors every day from 12 noon to 10pm until Monday, 25 February; and on Friday between 4pm and 10pm. Presented by QNTC and organised by Auditoire, the six-day exhibition allows visitors to access the finest brands of classic and contemporary luxury jewellery and to interact with them in the daily workshops and discussion sessions.

الدوحة، 23 فبراير، 2019: لليوم الرابع على التوالي، يشهد معرض الدوحة للمجوهرات والساعات إقبالًا كبيرًا من الزوار على فعالياته التي يحتضنها مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات، وتُعرض في أجنحته المبهرة تصاميم أكثر من 500علامة تجارية من أكثر من 10دول. كما يقدم المعرض يوميًا برنامجًا متكاملًا من النشاطات وورش العمل، وجلسات النقاش التفاعلية لمنح الزوار والمهتمين بالصناعة خبرة عملية في صناعة المجوهرات والساعات.

ورش عمل وفعاليات لعشّاق الساعات

وتقدم مجموعة “أوبجكتيف أورلوجري” الفرنسية المرموقة ورشات عمل مجانية متاحة للجميع تحت عنوان ” اكتشف حرفة الساعات”، حيث تقدم للمشاركين معلومات موسعة حول دقة صناعة الساعات اليدوية، ويمنح المشاركون شهادة معتمدة توثق مشاركته في الورشة.

كما تقدم “أوبجكتيف أورلوجري” مجموعة من ورش العمل الحصرية المدفوعة والتي يمكن للمهتمين وعشاق الساعات حضورها، حيث سيتمكن المشاركون من تصنيع ساعاتهم بنفسهم بنفس المعدات والتقنيات التي تستخدمها “أوبجكتيف أورلوجري” والاحتفاظ بالساعة.

وتعقد يوميا فعالية “المجلس” حيث يقدم الخبير الفرنسي الشهير “جوفروي أدير” جلسات بين الساعة 4 و 5مساءً يتعرف خلالها المشاركون على أحدث التقنيات التي تستخدمها أهمّ العلامات التجارية العالمية في مجموعاتها للساعات، بالإضافة إلى تقديم الاستشارات المجانية. ويعتبر “أدير” أحد أشهر الخبراء العالميين في مجال الساعات الكلاسيكية والحديثة، وهو يعمل مع دار “أركوريال” للمزادات، حيث عمل مع مجموعة من أشهر مقتنيات الساعات حول العالم.

كما يقدم نادي قطر للساعات في “المجلس” يوميًا عند الساعة السادسة مساءً، عرضًا لمحبي الساعات يقدمه في كل يوم ممثلًا مختلفا عن إحدى العلامات التجارية للساعات، من ضمنها عرضًا لساعات فاشرون كونستانتين الكلاسيكية، وساعات مورتيز غروسمان، وشوبارد. كما يستضيف نادي قطر للساعات وفداً من النادي التركي للساعات الذين أتوا إلى الدوحة خصيصًا لحضور “معرض الدوحة للمجوهرات والساعات”.

التعامل مع المجوهرات والاحجار الكريمة

الجناح الهندي

وفي إطار الاحتفالات بالعام الثقافى قطر – الهند 2019 خصصت نسخة هذا العام من معرض الدوحة للمجوهرات والساعات جناحاً خاصا يضم مجموعات فاخرة لأشهر 13 علامة تجارية للمجوهرات الراقية الهندية، وهم: نور للمجوهرات، وإي كيه إم ميهراسونس للمجوهرات، وچاغان ناث هيمتشاند، وآموري للمجوهرات، وكيه كيه للمجوهرات، ومجوهرات لوتس، ومجوهرات إيريس، سيتال داس سون، وشريانس للمجوهرات، ومؤسسة إل إس، وديڤيڤا للمجوهرات، وتشامبالال وشركاه للمجوهرات. وقد عكست تصاميم العارضين التنوع الفني والارث الثقافي لجميع مناطق الهند مما جعل زيارته محط اهتمام جميع الحضور في المعرض، وقد تم تنظيم الجناح من قبل مجلس ترويج صادرات الأحجار الكريمة والمجوهرات، الذي أنشئ برعاية وزارة التجارة والصناعة الهندية.

ولقد شهدت مراسم افتتاح المعرض استضافة الخطوط الجوية القطرية شريك الطيران الرسمي للمعرض لآيقونة السينما والأزياء العالمية الهندية أشواريا راي باتشان ، التي قامت بزيارة الجناح الهندي برفقة سعادة سفير جمهورية الهند لدى دولة قطر. وقامت أشواريا بالاطلاع على المجوهرات الراقية لمصممي بلادها في الجناح المخصص والاستماع إلى شرح عن تاريخ بعض القطع الفريدة من قبل المصممين.

وسيشهد زوار معرض الدوحة للمجوهرات والساعات غدًا 24 فبراير، أحد أهم الفعاليات التي تقام على هامش المعرض، وهو المزاد الخيري في نسخته الثانية، والذي يعود ريعه إلى مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع، والتي تساهم في التنمية البشرية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية من خلال توفير التعليم الجيد لمن هم بحاجة له.

يقام المزاد بالتعاون مع دار أركوريال الفرنسية الشهيرة للمزادات، ويديره بخبرته الطويلة في هذا المجال، السيد جوفروي أدير. وتشارك فيه 11 قطعة فنية مذهلة تحمل توقيع مصممات قطريات مبدعات، عشرة منهن يشاركن في المعرض ضمن مبادرة المصممين القطريين الشباب، بينما تشارك المصممة القطرية مريم الخلف بقطعة مميزة في المزاد أيضًا. وكانت قد عرضت جميع القطع المشاركة في المزاد طيلة أيام المعرض، ليستمتع الحضور بجمالها الأخاذ، وتصميمها الملهم.

يستقبل معرض الدوحة للمجوهرات والساعات 2019 الزوّار الكرام لغاية يوم 25 فبراير من الساعة 12 ظهرًا وحتى الساعة 10مساء. ويتيح المعرض الذي يقام بدعم من المجلس الوطني للسياحة، وتنظيم شركة أوديتوار، لزوّراه فرصة الاطلاع على منتجات أرقى العلامات التجارية المميزة من المجوهرات ذات التصاميم الفاخرة الكلاسيكية والمعاصرة، كما يوفّر لهم فرصة التفاعل معهم ضمن ورش العمل وجلسات النقاش اليومية التي ستقام على هامش المعرض.
