384 students take part in QIB’s Holy Quran contest

Doha: For the second consecutive year, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has sponsored a Holy Quran recitation contest, which was organised by Ahmed Bin Mohamed Secondary School for Boys.

The contest was under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in partnership with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

A total of 384 students participated from 134 schools, both male and female and from various age groups. Fawzia Al Khater, Assistant Under-Secretary for Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, honoured the winning students during a ceremony at the Ministry.

During his speech at the ceremony, Hassan Al Baker, Headmaster of Ahmed Bin Mohamed Secondary School, expressed the pride his school holds for organising the contest for the second consecutive year, in cooperation with Al Falah Primary School for Girls.

He stated that the purpose of the contest is to encourage students to learn the correct recitation of the Holy Quran, as well as develop students’ skills in its vocal performance.

Al Baker also praised QIB’s sponsorship of the contest and as well as the Bank’s important role in promoting such valuable initiatives that empower students and develop skills that will be useful to them throughout their life.

Commenting on the sponsorship of the event, Hassan Sultan Al Noaimi, QIB’s Assistant General Manager — Personal Banking Group, said: “QIB’s sponsorship of the Holy Quran recitation contest and support in educational programmes is part of our corporate social responsibility which is aligned with the social objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. This sponsorship contributes to building a gifted generation which is faithful to its religion and proud of its Islamic values.”

He added: “We are pleased with the large participation in this contest from students. QIB is committed to strengthening the cooperation with the Ministry of Education to support similar programs.” Since QIB’s establishment in 1982, it has taken key roles in supporting social activities in various sectors such as education, health, sport, environment, and other social programmes. The Bank views this as an integral part of its mission and role in the local community. The Bank also recently won Dar Al Sharq Award for the best Bank CSR programme in Qatar.

قام مصرف قطر الإسلامي «المصرف»، وللعام الثاني على التوالي، برعاية مسابقة ترتيل القرآن الكريم التي نظمتها مدرسة أحمد بن محمد الثانوية للبنين، تحت إشراف قسم العلوم الشرعية بوزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي، وبالشراكة مع وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية. شارك في المسابقة 384 طالباً وطالبة من 134 مدرسة من المراحل التعليمية المختلفة (بنين وبنات)، وقامت السيدة فوزية الخاطر -وكيل الوزارة المساعد للشؤون التعليمية- بتكريم الفائزين في حفل أقامته الوزارة مؤخراً. في كلمته أمام حفل التكريم، أعرب السيد حسن الباكر -مدير المدرسة- عن فخر مدرسة أحمد بن محمد آل ثاني الثانوية للبنين بتنظيم المسابقة للعام الثاني على التوالي بالتعاون مع مدرسة الفلاح الابتدائية للبنات، مشيداً برعاية مصرف قطر الإسلامي للمسابقة.

وقال إن المسابقة تهتم بتلاوة وترتيل آيات القران الكريم وفق المنهج الدراسي، بهدف تنمية مهارات الطلاب في التلاوة والتجويد والأداء الصوتي، وتحسين القراءة، وتعزيز حب تلاوة القرآن الكريم في نفوس الطلاب، واكتشاف وتشجيع المواهب، وتحفيز الطلاب على الالتزام بدينهم وقيمهم وأداء واجباتهم تجاه عقيدتهم ورسالتهم الإسلامية.

وتعليقاً على رعاية «المصرف» للمسابقة، قال السيد حسن سلطان الجفالي النعيمي، مساعد المدير العام لمجموعة الخدمات المصرفية للأفراد: «إن رعاية المصرف لمسابقة القرآن الكريم ودعمه لأنشطة التعليم تعتبر جزءاً من مسؤوليته الاجتماعية، وبما يتماشى مع الاستراتيجية التي يتبناها المصرف بشكل وثيق مع الأهداف الاجتماعية لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030. وتهدف هذه الرعاية إلى دعم الأنشطة التي تعمل على تعزيز القيم الإسلامية السمحة، من أجل المساهمة في بناء جيل

واعد، متمسك بدينه، ويعتز بقيمه الدينية والوطنية».

وأضاف الجفالي: «نحن في المصرف سعداء بمشاركة هذا العدد الكبير من طلاب وطالبات المدارس في هذه المسابقة، ونؤكد حرص المصرف على تعزيز التعاون بيننا وبين وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي، في مثل هذه البرامج التربوية، ودعم البرامج المشابهة».;
