UDC awards contract for designing master plan of Floresta Gardens to Parsons

Doha: United Development Company (UDC), one of the leading Qatari public shareholding companies in Qatar and the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Islands, has selected Parsons to provide master planning and infrastructure consultancy services for the development of Floresta Gardens, which will have a distinctive architectural feature at The Pearl-Qatar.

Parsons scope of services includes the design of master plan, infrastructure, landscape, public realm and retail center, as well as the schematic design of the precinct’s 10 mid-rise residential towers and utilities tie-in points for three gated villas.

Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman, UDC President and CEO, and Gregg A. Welch, Parsons, Senior Vice President and MEA Built Environment Division Manager, co-signed the contract on January 16, 2019, at the Oyster building, The Pearl-Qatar. The event was also attended by senior officials from both companies.

Commenting on the signing of contracts, Al Othman said: “The distinguished Floresta Gardens’ development will play an important role in UDC’s future growth plans for The Pearl-Qatar. Through inspired designs and high-quality living spaces, we are confident that the precinct will be a highly sought after investment opportunity for both local and external investors. This distinctive project reflects UDC’s commitment to offer integrated real estate projects that boost Qatar’s position as an attractive lifestyle destination”.

Gregg A. Welch commented: “Our team is excited to create a high-quality residential community that offers a diverse lifestyle, with stunning waterfront and public realm views.”

Floresta Gardens will offer a variety of community living options, characterised by Haussmannian-style architecture. The precinct, which will be home to 5,000 residents, consists of 145,967 square meters of developable land and a gross floor area of 267,471 square meters.

The project will be home to 10 mid-rise residential towers and 114 villas within three gated villa compounds, and a 2,452-square meter retail center.

It is worth mentioning that the tenders for the infrastructure works and the construction works of the retail center in the Floresta Gardens will be shared with the contractors during March 2019.

أعلنت الشركة المتحدة للتنمية، المطور الرئيسي لجزيرتي اللؤلؤة-قطر وجيوان، عن تعيينها لشركة بارسونز للاستشارات الهندسية؛ لتقوم بتصميم المخطط العام التفصيلي، وتصميم أعمال البنية التحتية، لتطوير منطقة «فلورستا جاردنز»، التي ستحمل طابعاً معمارياً متميزاً في قلب جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر.

يشمل نطاق الخدمات الموكلة إلى شركة بارسونز للاستشارات الهندسية، تصميم المخطط العام التفصيلي للمنطقة، وتصميم أعمال البنية التحتية والحدائق والمسطحات المائية، والمركز التجاري، بالإضافة إلى وضع التصميم المعماري الخارجي، واشتراطات البناء للأبراج السكنية العشر المتوسطة الارتفاع، ودراسة توفير جميع الخدمات للأبراج ومجمعات الفلل السكنية الثلاثة التي تضمها المنطقة.

تم توقيع العقد بحضور كل من السيد إبراهيم جاسم العثمان الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة المتحدة للتنمية، والسيد غريغ ويلش نائب الرئيس ومدير قسم البيئة المبنية في شركة بارسونز للاستشارات الهندسية، الأربعاء 16 يناير 2019، في مبنى المحارة بجزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر، وجمعت هذه المناسبة كبار المسؤولين من كلتا الشركتين.

وستضم «فلورستا جاردنز» 5000 ساكن، حيث تمتد مساحتها الإجمالية على 145.967 متر مربع، كما تبلغ مساحة البناء الإجمالية حوالي 267.471 متر مربع. وسيضم المشروع 10 أبراج سكنية متوسطة الارتفاع، و114 فيلا سكنية داخل ثلاثة مجمعات، ومركزاً تجارياً بمساحة 2.452 متر مربع.

وتجدر الإشارة إلى أنه سيتم طرح مناقصات أعمال البنية التحتية وأعمال بناء المركز التجاري في منطقة «فلورستا جاردنز» للمقاولين خلال شهر مارس 2019.;
