Qatar Charity distributes hygiene kits to orphans in Pakistan

Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) distributed 100 personal hygiene kits to orphans in the Rawalpindi district, Pakistan, aiming to raise awareness about Covid-19 at schools.

The hygiene kits, which were distributed in an event attended by the local officials in Pakistan, come within the efforts made by QC to limit the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic across the globe.

Each kit had masks, sanitisers, and other hygiene items needed for daily usage. During the distribution event, QC’s staff made the children and their mothers aware of the importance of personal hygiene, hand washing methods, and social distancing.

Also, information, education and communication materials were distributed to raise awareness about the importance of handwashing and maintaining social distance to prevent Covid-19 infection.

Raja Imran, deputy district officer at the Government Social Welfare Department highly appreciated the efforts of QC in the Rawalpindi district.

“The personal hygiene items distributed by Qatar Charity are very comprehensive and covering maximum needed items,” said Imran, applauding the role of Qatar Charity in orphan care.

Besides, QC attended a coordination meeting organised by the Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF) in cooperation with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Baluchistan. At the meeting focusing on the INGOs working in the provinces, Qatar Charity presented its interventions, which received praise from the deputy director of PDMA Ghafoor Agha.

He also requested INGOs, including Qatar Charity, to work in co-ordination with each other and with the Government for a huge impact. QC is an active member of PHF at the federal level as well as at the provincial level.

In Pakistan, QC had previously, in coordination with the provincial governments, distributed 4,000 food baskets, benefitting nearly 24,000 people in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Baluchistan.

الدوحة: في إطار تواصل جهود «قطر الخيرية» التوعوية للمُساهمة في الحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيدـ19) ومُحاولة السيطرة عليه وتقليل الإصابات به، قامت بتوزيع حقائب صحية على الأيتام في مقاطعة روالبندي بباكستان استفاد منها 100 يتيم من المكفولين لديها، بحضور مسؤولين محليين. وتضمّنت الحقائب الصحية مُستلزمات النظافة الشخصية والوقائية التي تشتمل على مواد تعقيم وأقنعة ومواد نظافة. وتم خلال الفعالية توعية الأطفال وأمهاتهم بأهمية النظافة الشخصية وطرق غسل اليدين واتباع الإجراءات الوقائية خاصة بالمدارس. كما تم توزيع منشورات توعوية لزيادة الوعي بأهمية غسل اليدين والحفاظ على التباعد الاجتماعي لخلق وعي صحي ومعرفي في كيفية التعامل مع هذا الفيروس للحفاظ على سلامة الأيتام وسلامة المُجتمع والتخفيف من انتشار الفيروس.

وأثنى السيد راجا عمران (نائب مسؤول المنطقة) – إدارة الرعاية الاجتماعية بباكستان، على الجهود التي تبذلها قطر الخيرية للمُساهمة في الحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا ومُساعدة المُجتمعات الضعيفة وتوعيتهم والتخفيف عنهم من آثار الجائحة، وقال: إن المُستلزمات الوقائية والصحية التي تم توزيعها خاصة في منطقة روالبندي شاملة للغاية. وأعرب عن تقديره للمُساعدات الكبيرة التي تقدمها قطر الخيرية لفئة الأيتام في كافة المجالات الصحية والتعليمية والاجتماعية. بدورهم عبّر الأيتام وأمهاتهم عن سعادتهم باهتمام قطر الخيرية ومساعداتها التي تقدمها لهم باستمرار وقدّموا شكرهم وتقديرهم للخيّرين من أهل قطر الكرام.

وسبق أن قدّمت «قطر الخيرية» دعمًا للمؤسسات الصحية الحكومية في باكستان، حيث وزعت 4000 طرد من مستلزمات ومواد النظافة والوقاية في مراكز الحجر الصحي والمراكز الصحية الريفية في جميع الأقاليم الباكستانية بالتعاون مع عدد من الجهات المحلية. كما شاركت قطر الخيرية في الاجتماع التنسيقي الذي نظمه منتدى باكستان الإنساني (PHF) مع هيئة إدارة الكوارث بالمقاطعة (PDMA) في بلوشستان، بمشاركة عدد من المنظمات غير الحكومية الدولية العاملة في باكستان.
