Ooredoo announces strategic partnership with Uber

Ooredoo on Monday announced a strategic partnership with Uber, bringing together market leaders in telecommunications and technology.

The long-term partnership is set to encompass a range of features in staged rollouts over the next few years, including promotions, discounts, product co-creation and – as soon as commercially available – leveraging of Ooredoo’s world-first 5G network, the company has said in a statement.

To kick off the partnership, Ooredoo Passport customers will enjoy up to QR40 discount on two Uber trips to and from the airport and Nojoom members will get QR10 discount using a redemption voucher, the statement notes.

Speaking about the promising partnership, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi – director of PR and Communications at Ooredoo – said: “We recognise the importance of safety on the road for our customers and their need for convenience, so it gives us great pleasure to be able to announce this strategic partnership with Uber, a leader in the transport sector. We look forward to being able to offer a range of exciting promotions, products and services and, in the future, working together with Uber to ensure that our customers on both sides get the best from our groundbreaking 5G network.”

Hamdi Tabbaa, general manager of Uber in Qatar, said: “We have been seeing tremendous success for Uber in Qatar, and we are excited about this partnership with Ooredoo – which represents a positive milestone for Uber in Qatar, and is part of our continuous efforts to bring value to both riders and drivers using the app across the country.

“Since launching in Doha, Uber has expanded to cover the entire geographical area of the capital, as well as suburban areas including Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah, with plans to expand further and make the service available to as many people as possible around the country.”

Looking to the future, the partnership will enable customers of both Ooredoo and Uber to benefit from features linked to Ooredoo’s world-first 5G network as soon as it becomes commercially available.

وقالت الشركة في بيان صحافي: تأتي الشراكة طويلة الأمد هذه لتشمل مجموعة من المزايا خلال الفترة المقبلة، وتضم العروض والخصومات والمنتجات المشتركة، بالإضافة إلى الاستفادة من أول شبكة «5G» في العالم من «ooredoo»، بمجرد توفر أجهزة تتوافق معها.

وستكون أولى تلك المزايا التي سيستفيد منها العملاء، توفير خصم بقيمة 40 ريالاً لعملاء جواز «ooredoo» على رحلتين مع «Uber» من وإلى المطار، كما سيحصل أعضاء نجوم على خصم بقيمة 10 ريالات باستخدام قسائم الخصم.

وفي هذا الصدد، قالت منار خليفة المريخي، مديرة إدارة العلاقات العامة واتصالات الشركة في «ooredoo»: «نحن نحرص على سلامة عملائنا أثناء التنقل، وحاجتهم لوسيلة نقل سهلة ومريحة، لذا يسعدنا الإعلان عن هذا التعاون الاستراتيجي مع شركة Uber، التي تعد من أهم الشركات في هذا المجال على مستوى العالم. ونتطلع لتقديم العديد من العروض والمنتجات والخدمات المميزة لعملائنا، وكلنا ثقة بأن هذا التعاون سيعود بفوائد جمة لعملاء الشركتين على المدى القريب والبعيد، لا سيما في مجال الاستفادة من تقنية 5G المتطورة».

ومن شأن هذه الاتفاقية مستقبلاً، تمكين عملاء «ooredoo» و«Uber» من الاستفادة من مزايا متعددة توفرها شبكة 5G المتطورة عند توفر الأجهزة المتوافقة معها. وتحرص «ooredoo» على راحة وسلامة عملائها بشكل خاص، لذا تعد هذه الشراكة إنجازاً مهماً، بالنظر إلى السمعة التي تتمتع بها «Uber» في مجالات السلامة على الطريق، كما تتطلع من خلالها لتقديم المزيد من المزايا للعملاء.;
