New 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA Unveiled

The Mercedes-Benz CLA might have been the entry level sedan/4-door coupe in the Mercedes-Benz lineup but it has been one of the prettiest cars on sale from the 3-pointed star. And now, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the second generation Mercedes-Benz CLA at the CES or Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new CLA is larger than the outgoing model and surprisingly, even better looking too! Mercedes-Benz has retained its swooping body shape with the new car while the overall design language is very very similar to the larger and more premium Mercedes-Benz CLS 4-door coupe. The CLA will join the A-Class sedan in the lineup and will be priced slightly higher than the latter too.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA is now 48 mm longer than the outgoing model with an additional 30 mm added to its wheelbase. That said, cabin space has not been increased by much and legroom and headroom still continues to be low with a bigger impetus on design rather than practicality. And honestly, with looks like those, we don’t really seem to mind.

And talking about those looks, we particularly love the new grille and aggressive headlamps up front along with those coupe-like tail lamps and short bootlid. In fact, while the new A-Class and the CLS has received some flack in terms of overall design – especially the headlamps, the CLA on the other hand is spot on in terms of a blend of aggressiveness and elegance.

While the CLA always had a very sexy interior, the new CLA gets an upgrade on that front too. And a rather big one. The new CLA now gets the new MBUX of Mercedes-Benz User Experience software along with the twin 7-inch displays. There is also a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display that can be ordered on the new CLA. The new CLA also has gesture control along with a new Burmester sound system.

Expect the Mercedes-Benz CLA to make it to India sometime in late 2019 or early 2020 considering the fact that it has been a popular car in the country, especially with first time luxury car buyers. The new CLA should cost around Rs 40 lakh considering the fact that the A-Class sedan will eventually take over the space that the CLA currently fills.

كشفت عملاق صناعة السيارات الألمانية “مرسيدس بنز” عن رائعتها الجديدة كلياً CLA 2020 بتصميم أحد وتقنيات أعلى وفخامة أكثر.

وتبدو CLA الجديدة قريبة الشبه من تصميم شقيقتها CLS خاصة فيما يتعلق بالنصف الخلفي من السيارة يبدأ من انحدار السقف وحتى تصميم المصابيح الخلفية، أما القسم الأمامي فيبدو أقرب إلى عائلة A-Class ولكنه يتميز بمصابيح أقل حدة وغطاء محرك أبرز.

وفي الداخل وضعت مرسيدس كل مايجعل من CLS سيارة مرسيدس فاخرة، التصاميم العصرية، المواد عالية الجودة والتقنيات العالية، فنجد الكونسول الوسطي يحمل شاشتين للنظام الترفيهي ولوحة العدادات، على عادة مرسيدس في تمييز الإصدار الأول من سياراتها فقد ميّزت مرسيدس هذا الإصدار من CLA باسم Edition Orange بدلاً من Edition 1 ووزعت مرسيدس لمساتها الجمالية ببراعة داخل CLA بتمازج الألوان المختلفة مع اللون البرتقالي.

من الناحية التقنية نجد أن السيارة تحمل آخر ما توصلت إليه مرسيدس حيث يتوفر MBUX الترفيهي يدعم الهواتف الذكية بنظامي أندرويد أوتو وأبل كاربلاي.

كما وفرت مرسيدس ميزة ENERGIZING COACH الأولى من نوعها والتي تقدم توصيات صحية ولياقية شخصية لمالك السيارة.

وحصلت CLA 2020 على تقنيات من شقيقتها الكبرى S-Class أيضا تشمل أنظمة مراقبة الطريق ومساعدة السائق التي تقرأ 500 متر أمام السيارة وتشمل أنظمة الحفاظ على المسافة الأمامية والحفاظ على المسار ومكابح الطوارئ.
