First-ever Qatar Airways store opens at Hamad International Airport
افتتاح متجر الناقلة في مطار حمد بحضور عدد من نجوم «بايرن ميونيخ»
Doha: Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free unveiled the first-ever Qatar Airways Travel Boutique on today at the airline’s home and hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), marking the airline’s first-ever brand shop.
Complete with burgundy lighting, curved walls, a Business Class desk and an A380 First Class seat to experience, the shop is specially designed to enable customers to feel as though they have stepped on board a Qatar Airways aircraft.
The grand reveal of the one-of-a-kind boutique took place at an exclusive event at HIA, officiated by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker. VIPs in attendance included the Qatari Ambassador to Germany, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; the German Ambassador to Qatar, Hans-Udo Muzel; Hamad International Airport Chief Operating Officer, Badr Al Meer; and Qatar Duty Free Vice President Operations, Thabet Musleh.
The unveiling was attended by VIP guests, including General Manager of Al Sadd Sports Club, Turki Al-Ali; representatives of the media; as well as professional football players from the legendary German football club FC Bayern München Kingsley Coman, Mats Hummels, Niklas Süle, and football star Gabriel Arenas from the Qatar football club Al Sadd Sports Club.
At the opening ceremony Al Baker said: “Qatar Airways is delighted to launch our first-ever boutique to engage shoppers in a unique way by enabling them to enjoy the Qatar Airways experience on the ground. We are excited to launch this new retail concept at our magnificent home and hub, Hamad International Airport, a further testament to our vision of redefining the perfect travel experience for our travellers.”
Qatar Duty Free was awarded ‘Airport Retailer of the Year’ at the 2018 DFNI Global Awards. In April, the leading airport retailer was recognised at the PAX International Readership Awards, when Qatar Airways won ‘Best In-Flight Duty Free Program’ for the Middle East and Africa, and was acknowledged as an industry leader for its outstanding in-flight duty free service, which is operated by Qatar Duty Free.
“We are proud to launch such a unique concept to our customers, enabling them to experience the unique luxury of Qatar Airways. This boutique takes shopping to the next level, where customers can experience an A380 First Class seat, grab the latest football strip from one of the world’s top global teams, play their own penalty shoot-out and shop from an exclusive range of branded travel essentials including a high-end luggage collection, a kids’ range of travel games and accessories. This truly is the embodiment of an experience worth travelling for,” Musleh, said.
Later this year, Qatar Duty Free, along with Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport, will host the world’s most influential airport commercial revenues conference, The Trinity Forum. The conference, organised by The Moodie Davitt Report, ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific, will take place in Doha from 30-31 October 2019.

ويتزين المتجر الجديد بأضواء باللون العنابي، ناهيك عن الجدران المنحنية ووجود مكتب مماثل لمقاعد درجة رجال الأعمال، بالإضافة إلى وجود مقعد مماثل لمقعد الدرجة الأولى لطائرة «أيرباص A380»، يمكن للزوّار تجربته. وتم استلهام تصميم المتجر من تجربة السفر على متن رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية.
وافتتح المتجر أبوابه للزوّار خلال حفل حصري وخاص، أقيم في مطار حمد الدولي بحضور سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، وسعادة الشيخ سعود بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني سفير دولة قطر لدى ألمانيا، وسعادة السيد هانس أودو موتسل سفير جمهورية ألمانيا التتحادية لدى دولة قطر، والمهندس بدر المير الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات في مطار حمد الدولي، والسيد ثابت مصلح نائب الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات في السوق الحرة القطرية.
وحضر حفل الافتتاح ضيوف من كبار الشخصيات، منهم السيد تركي العلي مدير عام نادي السد الرياضي، وعدد من ممثلي ووسائل الإعلام؛ كما حضر عدد من اللاعبين المحترفين من نادي بايرن ميونيخ الألماني لكرة القدم، مثل كينغسلي كومان وماتس هوملز ونيكلاس شوله، ولاعب نادي السد القطري جابريل أريناس.

تجربة فريدة
وقال السيد ثابت مصلح، نائب الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات في السوق الحرة القطرية: «نفتخر بإطلاق هذا المتجر لجميع زوّارنا وتمكينهم من الاستمتاع بتجربة فريدة من نوعها مماثلة لتجربة سفرهم مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية. وينتقل هذا المتجر بتجربة التسوّق إلى آفاق جديدة؛ حيث بإمكان الزوّار تجربة مقعد الدرجة الأولى لطائرة «أيرباص A380»، أو شراء قميص فريقهم المفضل، أو المشاركة في لعبة تسديد ضربات الجزاء الترجيحية. كما بإمكان الزوّار التسوّق من مجموعة متنوعة من المنتجات، مثل مجموعة من
حقائب السفر، وألعاب وإكسسوارات السفر للأطفال، وغيرها الكثير. وهذا المتجر دليل آخر على حرصنا على
تقديم تجربة تسوّق تستحق السفر من أجلها».
ريادة
وحازت السوق الحرة القطرية على جائزة «أفضل سوق تجزئة في المطارات للعام» خلال حفل توزيع جوائز مجلة «DFNI» لعام 2018. كما فازت الخطوط الجوية القطرية في شهر أبريل الماضي بجائزة أفضل برنامج سوق حرة على متن الطائرة في الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، ضمن حفل توزيع جوائز قرّاء مجلة «باكس إنترناشونال»، وذلك بفضل الخدمة المميزة التي تقدمها للمسافرين على متن الرحلات، من حيث إتاحة مجموعة متنوعة من المنتجات الحصرية التي يمكنهم شراؤها أثناء الرحلة عبر خدمة السوق الحرة، التي تشغلها السوق الحرة القطرية.;
