Doha Book Fair stall showcases Russian culture

Doha: As a part of the Year of Culture Qatar-Russia 2018 a special Russian pavilion presenting leading publishing houses will open its doors to the public at the Doha International Book Fair. The event, which started yesterday, will continue until December 8.
During the exhibition, the books of the major publishing houses Strelka Press, Eksmo, Garage publishing programme, Artemiy Lebedev Publishing House will be presented at the Russian stand alongside with the Russias DNA and Putin Biography by the General Producer of the Russian Hour Alexander Korobko.
The visitors of the pavilion will become acquainted with the Russian classical literature, art and culture issues as well as learn more about forthcoming projects in the frameworks of the Year of Culture Qatar-Russia 2018.
Moreover, the guests will be able to relax in the lounge zone, play chess at the table designed by the famous Russian constructivist A M Rodchenko and discover the traditions of the Russian hospitality and take part in samovar-brewed tea tasting.
Guests will have an opportunity to attend film screenings, join master-classes in making tea from samovar or in creating their own designs for matryoshka as well as listening to panel discussions and lectures from the Qatari and Russian speakers.
In the evening the guests of the Russian stand are invited to attend a special music performance featuring selected pieces of music of the Russian composers and to take part in discussions dedicated to the classics of Russian literature organised in the book club.
The design of the pavilion was inspired by Supremacism style, a concept developed in 1913-1915 by Kazimir Malevich and used later in product and graphic design as well as architecture. Sharp geometrical shapes, forming abstract compositions and vivid colours, has become a modern trend and the hallmark of Russian art of the XX century.
Cross-cultural collaborations between Russian and Qatar cultural, educational and social institutions (museums, galleries, charity foundations, universities etc) will be a meeting point for two distinct cultures, which unite respect for their historical heritage and the ability to respond to the challenges of contemporary world.
The Year of Culture Qatar-Russia 2018 create an atmosphere of trust and understanding which is crucial to build business relationships and strengthen economic, tourist and cultural partnership between two countries.
427 publishing houses are participating this year in Doha International Book Fair, representing 30 Arab and foreign countries presenting about 122 thousand titles. The fair which is attended by many ministries and state institutions, will also include cultural and artistic events and a special training workshop.
في إطار السنة الثقافية بين قطر- روسيا 2018، تم اختيار جمهورية روسيا الاتحادية لتحل ضيف شرف على معرض الدوحة الدولي للكتاب في دورته التاسعة والعشرين الذي انطلقت فعالياته اليوم ، وتستمر حتى 8 ديسمبر المقبل في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات.
ويضم الجناح الروسي في المعرض دور نشر روسية رائدة ، حيث تقدم العديد من الكتب لدور نشر رائدة ورئيسية مثل اكسمو، ستريلكا برس وآرتيمي ليبدف، بالإضافة إلى السيرة الذاتية الخاصة ببوتين لـ ألكسندر كوروبكو المنتج العام لروسيا آور ، كما يتيح الجناح الروسي لزائريه الاطلاع على الأدب الروسي لكلاسيكي وقضايا الفنون والثقافة بالإضافة إلى معرفة المزيد عن المشاريع القادمة في إطار عام ثقافة قطر- روسيا 2018. كما يتعرف الزوار على تقاليد الضيافة الروسية والمشاركة في احتساء شاي المعد في السَّماوَر ، وهو وعاء معدني يستخدم لغلي الماء وتحضير الشاي، (يستخدم في روسيا).
كما يمكن للزوار مشاهدة عروض الأفلام الروسية وكذلك الاستماع إلى حلقات النقاش والمحاضرات من متحدثين قطريين وروس، ومنها محاضرة عن التصميم الحديث للبيئة الحضرية في روسيا، وأخرى عن نشر الكتاب في مجال الفن المعاصر.
هذا إلى جانب إمكانية حضور الجمهور عرضا موسيقيا خاصا يضم مقطوعات موسيقية مختارة لملحنين روس والمشاركة في المناقشات المخصصة للأدب الروسي الكلاسيكي الذي ينظم في نادي الكتاب، فضلا عن محاضرة عن الأزياء الروسية ومعرض فني يقام ضمن فعاليات الجناح الروسي .
وقد جاء تصميم الجناح الروسي مستوحى من أسلوب ( supermatism ) وهو أسلوب تم تطويره في الفترة من 1913-1915 من قبل كازيمير ماليفيتش واستخدم في وقت لاحق في الهندسة المعمارية وفي تصاميم الجرافيك ويرتكز على الأشكال الهندسية الأساسية حيث أصبحت الأشكال الهندسية الحادة وتشكيل التراكيب المجردة والألوان الزاهية السمة المميزة والاتجاه الرائد للفن الروسي في القرن العشرين.
جدير بالذكر أن العام الثقافي قطر – روسيا 2018 يسعى للتعاون عبر المؤسسات الثقافية في كلا البلدين، حيث يجمع الثقافتين احترام تراثهما التاريخي والقدرة على الاستجابة للتحديات المعاصرة ، وقد خلق العام الثقافي قطر-روسيا جواً من الثقة والتفاهم الضروري لبناء علاقات تجارية وتعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية والسياحية والثقافية بين البلدين. وفي عام 2018 تم منح دولة قطر المكانة الفخرية لـ “الدولة الضيف في منتدى بطرسبورغ الثقافي الدولي”.
يشار إلى أن معرض الدوحة الدولي للكتاب يشارك فيه هذا العام 427 دار نشر، تمثل 30 دولة عربية وأجنبية وتقدم حوالي 122 ألف عنوان، كما يتضمن المعرض الذي تشارك فيه العديد من الوزرات ومؤسسات الدولة فعاليات ثقافية وفنية وورشة تدريبية خاصة تعمل على تحقيق شعار المعرض “دوحة المعرفة والوجدان “.
