Qatar Airways announces return of seasonal routes

Qatar Airways’ direct seasonal routes to Antalya, Bodrum, Mykonos and Malaga to return in 2019; The award-winning airline will also introduce larger, more modern aircraft to two routes, with Antalya operated by A330 and Malaga by the spacious Boeing 777-200LR

Qatar Airways has announced the return of its recently-launched seasonal routes to Antalya, Bodrum, Mykonos and Malaga, with more flights and upgraded aircraft on two routes from May 2019. The award-winning airline is also upgrading from the A320 aircraft to the larger A330 on all flights to Antalya, with the more spacious Boeing 777, replacing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on all Malaga services.

All four routes to the hugely popular tourist destinations of Antalya and Bodrum in Turkey, Mykonos, Greece, and Malaga, Spain, have shown a consistently strong performance in the four months since being launched in June this year. “The passenger demand for the return of non-stop services to these top tourist hot spots has been very high, so we are thrilled to respond by not only resuming these routes for summer 2019, but also by adding an extra weekly flight to the Antalya, Bodrum and Mykonos schedules,” Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said.

“We are also pleased to have the opportunity to show our commitment to providing passenger-preferred, market-leading aircraft on our routes with the introduction of the larger A330 on the Antalya service, and the more spacious and efficient Boeing 777 for Malaga,” he added.

As the gateway to the Costa del Sol, the charming coastal town of Malaga in the Southern Spanish region of Andalusia is the third Spanish destination in the Qatar Airways network, and is world-renowned for its stunning beaches and historic architecture. The four-times-weekly seasonal service to Malaga will be operated by a Boeing 777 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from May 29 to September 29, 2019.

The picturesque resort city of Bodrum is famous for its many beaches, boutique hotels and seafood restaurants, whilst Antalya, with its white, sandy beaches set against the backdrop of the Taurus Mountains, is known as the ‘Gateway to the Turkish Riviera’. These stunning Turkish destinations are the airline’s fifth and sixth gateways into Turkey, joining Istanbul’s Ataturk and Sabiha Gokcen Airports, Adana Sakirpasa Airport and Ankara Airport.

The increased three-times-weekly seasonal service to Antalya will be operated every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from May 24 to September 29; with the three-times-weekly seasonal service to Bodrum operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from May 25 to September 28, 2019. Set against the crystal blue backdrop of the Aegean Sea, the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos is one of Greece’s most popular island resorts and became Qatar Airways’ third Greek destination when it launched in May 2018, just two months after the introduction of the airline’s Thessaloniki service in March.

The increased five-times-weekly seasonal service to Mykonos for 2019 will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from May 22 to September 29.

أعلنت الخطوط الجوية القطرية، أمس، عن إعادة تشغيل خدماتها الموسمية إلى مدن أنطاليا وبودروم وميكونوس وملقة، اعتباراً من شهر مايو لعام 2019، مع زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى هذه الوجهات وترقية الطائرات المشغلة عليها.

سوف تضيف «القطرية» رحلة أسبوعياً إلى أنطاليا وبودروم وميكونوس، اعتباراً من شهر مايو 2019، فيما ستقوم بترقية الطائرة المشغلة إلى أنطاليا من «أيرباص A320» إلى «أيرباص A330»، وترقية الطائرة المشغلة على الرحلات الجوية إلى ملقة من «بوينغ 787 دريملاينر» إلى «بوينغ 777».

وأظهرت رحلات «القطرية» إلى مدن أنطاليا وبودروم في تركيا وميكونوس في اليونان وملقة في إسبانيا نتائج قوية ومميزة منذ شهر يونيو لهذا العام وعلى مدى أربعة أشهر.

وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «نفتخر بالأداء القوي والاستثنائي لرحلاتنا الموسمية إلى هذه الوجهات خلال الأشهر الأربعة التي تم تشغيلها بها».

وأضاف: «لقد شهدت رحلات الذهاب والعودة إلى هذه الوجهات السياحية إقبالاً كبيراً، لذلك يسعدنا الاستجابة لهذا الإقبال بإعادة إطلاق الرحلات الموسمية إلى هذه الوجهات في صيف عام 2019، بالإضافة إلى زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى أنطاليا وبودروم وميكونوس».

واختتم سعادته قائلاً: «كما يسرّنا التأكيد على التزامنا بتشغيل طائرات ذات سعة أكبر إلى المزيد من الوجهات العالمية مع تقديم طائرة «أيرباص A330» على الرحلات إلى أنطاليا، وطائرة «بوينغ 777» على الرحلات إلى ملقة».

سياحة

وتقع مدينة ملقة في منطقة كوستا ديل سول في جنوب منطقة الأندلس، وتعرف بأنها مدينة ساحلية مزدهرة تستقطب الزوّار طوال العام بفضل طقسها المعتدل والمميز، واحتوائها على العديد من الشواطئ المميزة والمعالم الأثرية التاريخية. وتعدّ ملقة ثالث وجهات الخطوط الجوية القطرية في إسبانيا.

وتضم مدينة بودروم العديد من الشواطئ الرائعة والفنادق الراقية والاستراحات التي تقدم المأكولات البحرية، فيما تشتهر أنطاليا بأنها وجهة مفضلة للباحثين عن الشواطئ الرملية البيضاء المقابلة لجبال طوروس، وللذين يرغبون في الاستمتاع بعطلة مميزة في الريفيرا التركية. وسوف تصبح هاتان الوجهتان سادس وسابع محطات الخطوط الجوية القطرية في تركيا بعد مطار أتاتورك ومطار صبيحة كوكجن في اسطنبول ومطار أضنة الدولي ومطار هاتاي الدولي ومطار أنقرة الدولي.

وتقع جزيرة ميكونوس على بحر إيجة، وتعدّ أكثر الجزر شهرة في اليونان. وأصبحت هذه الجزيرة ثالث وجهات الخطوط الجوية القطرية في اليونان عند إطلاق الرحلات الموسمية إليها في شهر يونيو لعام 2018، وذلك بعد شهرين فقط من إطلاق رحلات الناقلة إلى ثيسالونيكي في شهر أبريل 2018.;
