Woqod net profit rises to QR825m in third quarter

DOHA: Qatar Fuel (Woqod) announced a 28 percent rise in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2018. The net profit, attributable to Woqod shareholders, increased to QR825m during the third quarter of 2018 compared to QR643m for the same period in 2017.

Woqod’s Board of Directors held its fifth meeting, which was presided over by Ahmed Saif Al Sulaiti, Chairman of the Board, for the year 2018 yesterday at Woqod Tower in West Bay, said Engineer Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi, Chief Executive Officer, Woqod.

The Board discussed and approved the unaudited financial statements and operational activities of the company for the third quarter of 2018.

He attributed the good results achieved in terms of profit level to the efforts exerted toward enhancing efficiency and capability in company’s business operations, and cost optimisation in line with the study duly conducted and implemented since the year 2017.

It is to be noted that the resulting cost reduction has been achieved despite the expansion of Woqod fuel stations network.

Al Muhannadi further attributed the increase achieved in profit levels to the increase of the volume of quantities distributed through the various distribution networks which had been enhanced and optimised both quantitatively and qualitatively to meet the persistent increase of demand for petroleum products and gas, along with accompanying services.

He also attributed the increase to the prudent management of cash and investment activities. The return on a share amounted to QR8.30 by the end of the third quarter 2018 compared to QR6.47 for the same period of the year 2017.

About the company’s projects, Al Muhannadi explained that the company’s plan is to increase the number of operational petrol stations to 130 stations by the end of the year 2020, of which 72 stations are currently operational.

The company is targeting the construction and operation of 32 stations by the end of this year including 13 mobile stations. Of these, the company has completed and is operating 19 petrol stations including 9 mobile stations. Another 13 stations (including four mobile stations) will be opened thus increasing the number of operational petrol stations to 90 stations by the end of 2018. A total of 47 locations are currently undergoing various stages of preparation, in order to qualify them for the construction of new petrol stations.

With regard to the company’s operations, Al Muhannadi stated that the company has witnessed an increase on the sales of most products by the end of the third quarter 2018 compared to the corresponding period of 2017.

The average increase in the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 4.7 percent compared to the same period of year 2017. Jet fuel sales increased by 11 percent in comparison with sales of the same period in 2017 while Bitumen sales reached to about 203,000 metric tonnes in current year which is approximately equal to the sales of same period of the year 2017.

LPG sales increased by 14 percent whereas Bunkering Fuel sales reached 458,000 metric tonnes, compared to 57,000 metric tonnes for the same period of 2017. Sales of natural gas and compressed natural gas realised a 5 percent increase, in comparison with the same period of the year 2017.

As regards the retail sales of petroleum products in the local market, the company targets to increase its stake to 86 percent by the year 2022. Woqod increased its market share to 68 percent during the subject reporting period compared to 57 percent during the same period of the year 2017.

Retail non-fuel sales (including Sidra C-Store sales) have witnessed a 4.6 percent increase. The total operations value of Woqod Subsidiary, Woqod Vehicle Inspection Company “FAHES” increased by about 40 percent.

Al Muhannadi stated that the Petroleum Products Sale & Purchase Agreement between Qatar Petroleum and Woqod has been executed for a further period of five years expiring on September 30, 2023. A new agreement executed recently embodies the terms, conditions and arrangements reached by the parties in this regard.

On the other hand, he stated that, the Board of Directors has approved annual budget for the year 2019, pointing out that the budget comprised the anticipated key performance indicators for Woqod group in relation to the distribution and marketing of petroleum products and gas and other activities of Woqod and subsidiary companies during the year 2019, and the requisite operational and capital costs and expenses.

In this regard, the company has allocated about QR1.175bn to be spent on new projects intended for implementation in the year 2019. The company will also spend on the requirements for maintenance, security and safety.

أعلنت شركة قطر للوقود “وقود” “شركة مدرجة في بورصة قطر” أن صافي أرباح الشركة خلال التسعة أشهر الأولى من العام الحالي بلغ 825 مليون ريال، مقارنة بمبلغ 643 مليون ريال لنفس الفترة من عام 2017، وبزيادة قدرها 182 مليون ريال تساوي نسبة 28 بالمئة.

وعزا المهندس سعد راشد المهندي الرئيس التنفيذي لـ”وقود” النتائج الجيدة في مستوى الأرباح إلى الجهود المبذولة في رفع معدلات الفعالية والكفاءة في أعمال وعمليات الشركة وتخفيض النفقات، موضحا بأن التخفيض الحادث في النفقات تم تحقيقه رغم زيادة حجم شبكة محطات الوقود.

كما أرجع الزيادة المحققة في مستوى الأرباح الى الزيادة الحادثة في حجم الكميات الموزعة عبر شبكات التوزيع المختلفة، والتي تم تأهيلها كما ونوعا للوفاء بمتطلبات البلاد المتنامية من المنتجات البترولية والغاز والخدمات المصاحبة، مضيفا أن الزيادة ساهم فيها أيضا ما قامت به الشركة من توظيف جيد لإدارة النقد والاستثمارات.

وبخصوص العائد على السهم أوضح بأنه بلغ بنهاية الربع الثالث 2018 مبلغ 8.30 ريال مقارنة بـ 6.47 ريال لنفس الفترة من العام 2017.

وفيما يتعلق بمشروعات الشركة بين المهندس المهندي بأن خطة الشركة تستهدف إكمال عدد محطات الوقود العاملة إلى 130 محطة بنهاية العام 2020 منها 72 محطة تعمل حالياً، كما تستهدف بناء عدد 32 محطة وقود بنهاية العام 2018 منها حوالي 13 محطة متنقلة، حيث قامت الشركة من بداية هذا العام وحتى نهاية سبتمبر الماضي ببناء وتشغيل عدد 19 محطة وقود منها 9 محطات متنقلة، كما أن هنالك عدد 13 محطة (منها 4 متنقلة) سيتم افتتاحها، وبالتالي سيكون اجمالي المحطات العاملة بنهاية العام الحالي حوالي 90 محطة وقود.

وافاد بأنه يجري حاليا اكمال اجراءات 47 موقعاً إضافياً هي الآن في مراحل الاعداد المختلفة، وذلك بغرض تأهيلها لبناء محطات وقود عليها.

وفيما يختص بعمليات الشركة فقد قال الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة بأن هنالك نمواً في المبيعات في معظم المنتجات خلال فترة التسعة الشهور الاولى من العام الحالي، حيث بلغ متوسط الزيادة في المبيعات الاجمالية للمنتجات البترولية نسبة 4.7 بالمئة مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من العام 2017، بينما زادت نسبة مبيعات منتج وقود الطائرات لوحده بواقع 11 بالمئة مقارنة مع مبيعات نفس الفترة من العام الماضي.

وأوضح أن مبيعات البوتاجاز حققت زيادة بواقع 14 بالمئة، فيما حقق وقود السفن مبيعات قدرها حوالي ( 458 ) الف طن متري مقارنة بحوالي 57 الف طن متري لنفس الفترة من العام 2017، بينما حققت مبيعات الغاز الطبيعي والغاز الطبيعي المضغوط زيادة بواقع 5 بالمئة مقارنة بنفس الفترة من العام الماضي.

أما مبيعات المنتجات البترولية بالتجزئة في السوق المحلية، والتي تستهدف الشركة رفع حصتها فيها لتبلغ 86 بالمئة بحلول العام 2022، فلقد سجلت نسبة زيادة اجمالية في الفترة المذكورة من هذا العام بواقع 68 بالمئة مقارنة بنسبة 57 بالمئة تم تحقيقها خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2017، بينما حققت مبيعات منتجات التجزئة غير البترولية شاملة مبيعات سدرة نسبة نمو بواقع 4.6 بالمئة.

أما الشركة التابعة وقود لفحص المركبات “فاحص” فلقد زادت القيمة الاجمالية لعملياتها بواقع حوالي 40 بالمئة .

وذكر أن قطر للوقود قامت بتجديد اتفاقية بيع وشراء المنتجات البترولية في الدولة والمبرمة بين قطر للبترول و “وقود” لمدة خمس سنوات إضافية تنتهي في سبتمبر 2023.

وفي منحى آخر كشف المهندي بأن مجلس الإدارة اعتمد الموازنة السنوية للعام 2019، مشيرا بأن الموازنة رصدت حوالي مبلغ 1.175 مليار ريال ليتم صرفه على المشروعات الجديدة التي تعتزم الشركة إقامتها في العام المقبل، كما سيتم الصرف ايضاً على متطلبات الصيانة والأمن والسلامة.
