Venus will pass between Sun and Earth tomorrow

DOHA: The brightest planet of our solar system “Venus” will be at inferior conjunction with Sun; where it will pass in between the Sun and Earth on the evening of Friday (tomorrow) at 5pm Doha local time, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) yesterday announced.

Astronomer expert at (QCH) Dr. Beshir Marzouk said, the inferior conjunction of Venus is a very important astronomical phenomenon because it is an indicator to Venus transition to disappear on an evening sky over western horizon after sunset, to appear on the morning skyover eastern horizon before sunrise. Moreover, the inferior conjunction phenomenon only occur only for two planets of our solar system planets (Venus, and Mercury); because they orbit around the sun are inside Earth’s orbit.

During Inferior conjunction of Venus, the center of three celestial objects (Sun, Earth, and Venus) will be aligned on a straight line, moreover, Venus will be in between Sun and Earth, and it will pass very close to the Sun in the sky.

Dr. Marzouk added that Qatar and Arabic region countries’ residents will be able to see and observe Venus over Eastern horizon during first half of November approximately, where the duration between time rise of Venus and sunrise time will be increasing during next few weeks.

أعلنت دار التقويم القطري أن كوكب الزهرة، ثالث ألمع الأجرام السماوية، سوف يمر بين الشمس والأرض مساء غد الجمعة، في ظاهرة تُعرف بـ «الاقتران الداخلي» للكوكب. وسوف يشهد سكان الكرة الأرضية هذه الظاهرة مع غروب الشمس بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي. وذكر الدكتور بشير مرزوق -الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري- أن ظاهرة الاقتران الداخلي لكوكب الزهرة من الظواهر الفلكية المهمة لسببين؛ أولهما: أنها تُعْتَبر مؤشِّرًا لانتقال كوكب الزهرة من ظهوره في سماء المساء (الأفق الغربي) إلى ظهوره في سماء الصباح (الأفق الشرقي)، والسبب الآخر أن تلك الظاهرة لا تحدث إلا لكوكبين فقط من كواكب المجموعة الشمسية هما عطارد، والزهرة؛ نظرًا لوقوع مدارهما حول الشمس داخل مدار الأرض.

وأوضح أن سكان دولة قطر، ودول المنطقة العربية سوف يمكنهم رؤية ورصد كوكب الزهرة بالعين المجردة، ويغرب الزهرة عن الأفق الغربي لسماء قطر وباقي دول المنطقة مع غروب الشمس غداً.

الجدير بالذكر أن آخر مرة حدثت فيها ظاهرة الاقتران الداخلي لكوكب الزهرة كانت يوم 25 من مارس العام الماضي، بينما ستحدث مرة أخرى يوم 3 من شهر يونيو 2020م.;
