Overwhelming support for NMoQ’s innovative ‘Voices’ campaign

DOHA: The National Museum of Qatar’s (NMoQ) innovative “Voices” campaign has reached a major milestone six months from launch, collecting many individual stories representing the past, present and future of Qatar.

First launched in April of this year to coincide with the unveiling of the new NMoQ brand, the “Voices” campaign invited the people of Qatar to share personal stories and unique connections to the National Museum.

The campaign put the local community at its heart, asking them to share interesting backgrounds and personal experiences.

A mixture of locals and expats, these “Voices” of NMoQ, came from all corners of the community and represented its full diversity of backgrounds, histories and stories.

Representatives from Qatar Museums (QM) and NMOQ expressed their gratitude to members of the community for taking part in this initiative. They highlighted how these collective memories are interlinked with Qatar’s history and growth and are crucial to preserve for future generations.

The NMoQ will give voice to the country’s rich heritage and history whilst celebrating its future.

It also highlights Qatar Museums’ commitment to fulfilling the cultural goals of the 2030 Qatar National Vision, contributing towards creating a strong and sustainable cultural infrastructure for Qatar, helping to build a diversified, knowledge-based economy.

حققت حملة «أصوات» التي أطلقها متحف قطر الوطني قبل 6 أشهر الماضي بالتزامن مع الكشف عن الهوية الجديدة للمتحف نجاحاً مميزاً، وهي الحملة التي شارك فيها أعضاء الحملة بذكرياتهم وقصصهم الشخصية التي تربطهم بالمتحف مع الجمهور، وهي قصص كشفوا خلالها عن جوانب من ماضي وحاضر ومستقبل قطر.

وقد انطلقت الحملة في إبريل، ودعَت سكان قطر من المواطنين والوافدين لمشاركة قصصهم وذكرياتهم الشخصية المميزة التي تربطهم بالمتحف الوطني، ولاقت الدعوة قبولًا لدى السكان، ليشارك في الحملة مزيج من القطريين والوافدين من مختلف الأعمار والفئات رسمت قصصهم وحكاياتهم لوحة فريدة تعكس تنوع المجتمع على مستوى خلفياته وتاريخه وقصصه.

وأعرب ممثلون من متاحف قطر ومتحف قطر الوطني عن امتنانهم لجميع المشاركين في الحملة، حيث سلطوا الضوء على أهمية توثيق هذه الذكريات وحفظها للأجيال القادمة، خاصة وهي تمثل قصة قطر ونموها، هذا وسيعبر متحف قطر الوطني عن التراث الغني لدولة قطر ويعكس تاريخها الثري مع احتضانه في الوقت ذاته للمستقبل.

كما سيبرز المتحف التزام متاحف قطر بتحقيق الأهداف الثقافية المنصوص عليها في رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، ليسهم في تطوير بنية تحتية قوية ومستدامة للقطاع الثقافي في قطر، وهو الأمر الذي سيساعد في بناء إرث معرفي متنوع.

يشار إلى أن المتحف الجديد تم تشييده حول القصر القديم للشيخ عبدالله بن جاسم آل ثاني، أحد أشهر معالم الدوحة التراثية التي تشير إلى نمط الحياة القديمة في قطر. ويأخذ هذا الصرح تصميمه الجديد، الذي أبدعه المعماريّ الفرنسي المرموق جان نوفيل، شكل الأقراص المتشابكة المستلهَمة من وردة الصحراء، والتي تستحضر نمط حياة الشعب القطري بين البحر والصحراء.
