Minister of Economy and Commerce holds talks with Argentine ministers

DOHA: Minister of Economy and Commerce, H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, yesterday met in Buenos Aires with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic, Jorge Marcelo Faurie, and Secretary for International Economic Relations, Horacio Reyser, in separate meetings.

They discussed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them in all fields, particularly in the fields of electricity generation, infrastructure, transportation, and tourism. They also discussed ways to activate the agreements signed between the two countries. They also followed up on the outcomes of the Qatari-Argentinian ministerial committee’s meeting that took place in December 2017.

Trade volume between the State of Qatar and the Argentine Republic was QR1.2bn. The two sides have a number of bilateral agreements, including on economic, commerce, and technical cooperation. They also have agreements to encourage and protect investments, as well as to avoid double taxation.

The two sides also have many Memorandums of Understanding in the sports, tourism, scientific research, and cultural fields.

جرى خلال اللقاء بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين دولة قطر وجمهورية الأرجنتين، وذلك في المجالات الاقتصادية والتجارية والاستثمارية.

من جهة أخرى، اجتمع سعادة الشيخ أحمد بن جاسم مع سعادة السيد خوراسيو رايزر وزير العلاقات الاقتصادية الدولية بجمهورية الأرجنتين.

فرص

جرى خلال الاجتماع بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات التجارية والاقتصادية والفرص الاستثمارية في جمهورية الأرجنتين، وخاصة في مجال توليد الطاقة الكهربائية والبنية التحتية والمواصلات والسياحة.

كما تمت مناقشة آخر التطورات بشان تفعيل الاتفاقيات الموقعة بين البلدين، بالإضافة إلى متابعة ما تم التوصل إليه خلال اجتماع اللجنة الوزارية القطرية الأرجنتينية التي عقدت في ديسمبر 2017.

تجدر الاشارة إلى أن التبادل التجاري بين البلدين قد بلغ خلال العام 2017 حوالي 1,2 مليار ريال، كما أن البلدين ترتبطان بعدة اتفاقيات ثنائية ومنها اتفاقية التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري والفني واتفاقية تشجيع وحماية الاستثمارات المتبادلة واتفاقية تجنب الازدواج الضريبي، بالإضافة إلى العديد من مذكرات التفاهم في المجالات الرياضية والسياحية والبحث العلمي والثقافة.;
