Citibank honours QIIB with STP Award
«سيتي بنك» يمنح «الدولي الإسلامي» جائزة التميز
DOHA: Citibank New York has chosen QIIB for “Excellence in Straight Through Processing -STP” Award and handed over the laurel at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in the presence of Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad Al Shaibei and Citibank Qatar CEO Amir Khan.
QIIB Deputy CEO, Jamal Abdullah Al Jamal received this award granted to banks that achieve exceptional performance in foreign payments.
The ceremony was also attended by Georges Hobeika, QIIB Chief Operating Officer, Mohammad Ghiyath Sheikhah, QIIB Chief Treasury and Investment, Omar Al Meer, QIIB Head of Development, Sayed Assem Mahmoud, QIIB Head of Banking Operations as well as Mohsin Al-Mahdi, Director of Correspondent Banking Group, Citibank Bahrain, John Ladani, Head of Markets Affairs and Mohtashem Al Haq, Assistant Director, Citibank Qatar.
On the occasion, Jamal Al Jamal said, “We are pleased to receive this ‘Excellence in Straight Through Processing (STP) Award’ from Citibank New York, which recognises QIIB’s technological competency and high efficiency in managing its foreign operations as per the best international standards”.
He noted, “Banks’ foreign payment operations are extremely important as they require accuracy and professionalism so as to guarantee the direct transfer of money without manual interference and the delivery thereof to beneficiaries in the most appropriate manner and the right time, free from any error or delays”.
He added: “We praise the partnership and long relationship between our bank and Citibank. We hope to further enhance this cooperation in the upcoming period in order to best serve our customers and meet their needs as well as improve the business environment in the countries where QIIB and Citibank operate”.
On his part, Amir Khan, Citibank Qatar CEO said, “This award truly reflects the exceptional level reached by QIIB in ‘Straight Through Processing’ as the bank manages these operations according to the best international standards”.
He further said, “We are satisfied with the business relationship and partnership that we have with QIIB and hope to further enhance it so as to serve the interests of both banks, customers and the business environment in which we operate”.
منح «Citibank نيويورك» جائزة التميز في استخدام نظام المعالجة المباشرة للمدفوعات الخارجية (STP) لـ «الدولي الإسلامي»، وذلك خلال مراسم أُقيمت في المقر الرئيسي للبنك، وحضرها الدكتور عبدالباسط أحمد الشيبي الرئيس التنفيذي لـ «الدولي الإسلامي»، والسيد أمير خان المدير التنفيذي لـ «Citibank قطر».
تسلّم السيد جمال عبدالله الجمال -نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لـ «الدولي الإسلامي»- الجائزة التي تُمنح للبنوك، التي تحقق أداء استثنائياً في مجال المدفوعات الخارجية. وحضر حفل التسليم السيد جورج حبيقة رئيس قطاع العمليات، والسيد محمد غياث شيخة مدير الخزينة والاستثمار، والسيد عمر المير رئيس التطوير، والسيد سيد عاصم محمود مدير العمليات المصرفية في «الدولي الإسلامي». كما حضرها أيضاً من جانب «Citibank» السادة محسن المهدي مدير مجموعة المراسلات المصرفية في «Citibank البحرين»، والسيد جون لاداني المدير التنفيذي لشؤون الأسواق، والسيد محتشم الحق المدير المساعد في «Citibank».

وقال السيد جمال الجمال، بمناسبة تسلّم الجائزة: «نحن سعداء بحصولنا على جائزة التميز في معالجة الدفعات الخارجية من (Citibank نيويورك)؛ الأمر الذي يؤكد جدارة (الدولي الإسلامي) التكنولوجية، والكفاءة العالية التي يدير بها البنك عملياته الخارجية وفق أفضل المعايير المعتمدة عالمياً».
وأشار إلى «أن عمليات المدفوعات الخارجية للبنوك تتمتع بأهمية كبيرة، حيث إنها تحتاج إلى الدقة والاحترافية، بما يضمن التحويل المباشر للأموال دون تدخّل يدوي، مع ضمان وصولها إلى المستفيدين بالطريقة والوقت المناسبين؛ حتى لا يكون هناك أية أخطاء أو تأخير».
وأضاف أننا نشيد بعلاقة الشراكة والعمل الطويلة مع «Citibank»، ونأمل أن يتعزز التعاون بيننا خلال الفترة المقبلة، بما يساهم في خدمة عملائنا بأفضل الوسائل وأكثرها ملاءمة لاحتياجاتهم، وبما يؤدي بالنتيجة إلى تعزيز مناخ الأعمال في البلدن التي يعمل فيها «الدولي الإسلامي» و»Citibank «. من جانبه، قال السيد أمير خان، المدير التنفيذي لـ «Citibank قطر»: «إن هذه الجائزة تعبّر حقاً عن المستوى المتميز الذي وصل إليه (الدولي الإسلامي) في مجال المعالجة المباشرة للدفعات الخاصة (STP)، فالبنك يدير هذه العمليات وفق أفضل المعايير المعمول بها عالمياً».
وأضاف: «إننا راضون عن علاقات العمل والشراكة التي تجمعنا بـ (الدولي الإسلامي)، ونأمل أن تستمر الشراكة وتتعزز بيننا لما فيه مصلحة البنكين والعملاء وبيئة الأعمال التي نعمل فيها بشكل عام».;
