Female students feted at ExxonMobil Qatar event
«إكسون موبيل قطر» تستضيف احتفالية تكريم الطالبات
ExxonMobil Qatar recently held the annual recognition ceremony for more than 40 female students from Qatar University (QU) and Community College of Qatar (CCQ), who have taken part in its sponsorship and internship programmes this year.
The graduate students were given special recognition at the event, which was hosted by Abdullatif al-Naemi, ExxonMobil Qatar’s Human Resources manager.
Every year, ExxonMobil Qatar offers internship and sponsorship opportunities to students from local universities as part of its efforts to promote human and educational development.
These experiences can be potentially effective in enhancing employability skills and prospects, encouraging career-decision making and preparing for real workplaces.
They also help students and young people develop an in depth understanding of day to day professional roles, the company has said in a statement.
“We are very proud of the students who took part in our programmes this year; I would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” said al-Naemi.
“Many of our community programmes are focused on educational development – they contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030 by ensuring that young people are prepared with the necessary skills to thrive in the future economy.
“The students who participate in these programmes also gain first-hand oil and gas industry knowledge. As an industry that is vital to Qatar’s economy and to the global economy as well, it is important that the Qatari workforce of the future is aware of the significant role it plays in contributing to economic growth.”
The event also included a special address by Reem al-Suwaidi, general manager of Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, who spoke to the group about her experience as a young graduate who was eager to join the workforce and why she supports budding entrepreneurs and creative thinkers so they can achieve their goals and dreams.
“As a mentor, adviser and supporter of new businesses in Qatar, I cannot stress enough how essential internships are for young people. The most important part of internships is that they combine classroom knowledge with practical application and skills developed in a professional setting. They also bring a wealth of benefits to students, both while completing a degree and when seeking a career path post-graduation,” said al-Suwaidi.
“I have no doubt that this exceptional group of young women will put their experience to good use.”
استضافت «إكسون موبيل قطر»، الأسبوع الحالي، حفل التكريم السنوي لأكثر من 40 من طالبات جامعة قطر وكلية المجتمع في قطر، واللاتي شاركن في برنامجي الشركة للرعاية والتدريب الداخلي لهذا العام. وحظيت الخريجات بتكريم خاص خلال الفعالية التي استضافها السيد عبداللطيف النعيمي مدير الموارد البشرية في الشركة.
وتقدّم «إكسون موبيل قطر» في كل عام فرص التدريب والرعاية لطلاب من الجامعات المحلية، في إطار جهودها لتعزيز التنمية البشرية والتعليمية. وتساهم مثل هذه الخبرات بفاعلية في دعم وتعزيز فرص وإمكانات التوظيف، والتشجيع على اتخاذ القرار، والإعداد الجيد لبيئة العمل الفعلية، كما تتيح للطلاب والشباب الفهم العميق للمهام المهنية اليومية.
محوري
وفي تصريح له خلال الاحتفالية، أعرب السيد عبداللطيف النعيمي عن فخره بالطالبات المشاركات في برنامجي الشركة لهذا العام، وتوجّه إليهن بالشكر على ما قدّمنه من عمل جاد والتزام. وقال: «نؤمن في (إكسون موبيل) بأن للقطاع الذي نعمل فيه دوراً محورياً في التنمية المستدامة، حيث تُعدّ صناعة النفط والغاز من الركائز الأساسية لمنظومة الطاقة في العالم، ومن محركات التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. وتركز العديد من برامجنا المجتمعية على التنمية التعليمية، حيث تساهم هذه البرامج في تحقيق أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، عبر ضمان الإعداد الجيد للشباب، وتسليحه بالمهارات التي تمكّنه من النجاح في اقتصادات المستقبل. ونعمل في الأساس على دعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة لدولة قطر».
وأضاف: «يكتسب الطلاب المشاركون في هذه البرامج معرفة عملية حول صناعة النفط والغاز. وفي ضوء الأهمية الجوهرية لهذه الصناعة للاقتصاد القطري والعالمي، من المهم أن تدرك الكفاءات القطرية العاملة في المستقبل مدى أهمية الدور الذي تلعبه في مسيرة النمو الاقتصادي بالبلاد».
وشهدت الفعالية كلمة متميزة ألقتها السيدة ريم السويدي مدير عام مركز بداية لريادة الأعمال والتطوير المهني، وهي مبادرة مشتركة بين بنك قطر للتنمية و»صلتك»، حيث تحدثت أمام الطالبات حول تجربتها الشخصية عقب تخرّجها في الجامعة شابة شغوفة بالالتحاق بحقل العمل، ولماذا تحرص على تقديم الدعم لروّاد الأعمال والمبدعين من الشباب الناشئ حتى يتمكنوا من تحقيق أهدافهم وأحلامهم.;
