Record turnout for Bedaya’s ‘Entrepreneurship Camp’
إقبال كبير على مخيم “ريادة الأعمال” من “بداية”
The ‘Summer Entrepreneurship Camp’ organised by Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, witnessed a record turnout from students aged 16 to 24 years old.
Several specialised workshops were conducted during the event aimed at enhancing the knowledge of all participants. The workshops were hosted to offer students with practical insights and guidelines, which are required to start their projects or sustain and evolve existing ones.
They also had the opportunity to experience entrepreneurial skills with local entrepreneurs. The camp also included many recreational and educational activities spanning over two weeks, in addition to providing job shadowing opportunities in diverse sectors for students, which provided them a chance to get acquainted and familiar with the operations and gave them first-hand experience to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with each project.
In addition to increasing awareness among the youth about entrepreneurship, the camp also included visits to local entrepreneurs’ projects and allowed each group of students to work on one of the projects to live the experience of an entrepreneur. The participants also competed by presenting ideas for different projects where the winning project will be presented with the opportunity to display their project at the ‘Made at Home’ exhibition to be held in October 2018.
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Suwaidi said, “We are always keen to instil the spirit of leadership in our youth who are the backbone of our nation’s future.
Through the ‘Summer Entrepreneurship Camp’, we have been able to combine the benefits of the summer vacation and spending great and useful times during which participants were able to learn about a successful project that helped them develop their knowledge, skills and experience.
“Through the educational workshops, students were given the opportunity to learn theoretical concepts and to apply work skills in a realistic way, and to develop a clear understanding of the values, rules, and standards adopted by institutions and companies through the job shadowing, which is considered a real and tangible opportunity to get to know closely all working areas and varieties.
Moreover, we ensured to have on the camp’s schedules some recreational and leisure time to provide the students with fun moments during their participation,” she added.
شهد مخيم “ريادة الأعمال” الذي أقامه مركز “بداية” لريادة الأعمال والتطوير المهني (المبادرة المشتركة بين بنك قطر للتنمية ومؤسسة صلتك) والذي عقد في مركز كتارا للفنون على مدى اسبوعين، إقبالا كبيرا من الطلاب من مختلف الفئات العمرية والتي تراوحت أعمارهم من عمر 16 الى 24 سنة.
عقدت خلال المخيم ورش عمل متخصصة أضافت للمنتسبين العديد من الأمور الواجب معرفتها للبدء والاستمرارية في المشاريع، كما أتيحت لهم الفرصة لتجربة مهارات ريادة الأعمال مع رواد أعمال محليين. وشمل المخيم العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة الترفيهية والتعليمية على مدار الأسبوعين، بالإضافة إلى توفير تجربة معايشة بيئة العمل في العديد من التخصصات والتي أتاحت للطلاب التعرف على كيفية سير الأعمال وخوض التجربة ميدانياً للتعرف على السلبيات والايجابيات لكل مشروع.
بالإضافة إلى زيادة الوعي بين الشباب في مجال ريادة الأعمال، تضمن المعسكر زيارة لمشاريع رواد أعمال قطريين، والعمل في أحد المشاريع لمعايشة تجربة رائد الأعمال، كما قام الحضور بالعديد من الأنشطة والرحلات الترفيهية. وتنافس المشاركون في المخيم من خلال تقديم أفكار لمشاريع مختلفة، حيث سيتم منح المشروع الفائز فرصة المشاركة في معرض منتجات منازلنا في أكتوبر المقبل.
في هذه المناسبة قالت ريم السويدي، مدير عام مركز بداية :” نحرص دائما على غرس روح الريادة في شبابنا الذين هم عماد المستقبل، ومن خلال مخيم ريادة الأعمال الصيفي استطعنا أن نجمع بين الاستفادة من فترة الصيف وقضاء الأوقات المميزة التي استطاع من خلالها المشاركين التعرف عن قرب على احد المشاريع الناجحة والتي ساعدتهم على تطوير معارفهم ومهاراتهم وخبراتهم، أما من خلال الورش التعليمية، أتيحت الفرصة للطلاب للاطلاع على المفاهيم النظرية وتطبيق مهارات العمل بشكل واقعي، وبلورة فهم واضح حول القيم والقواعد والمعايير التي تنتهجها المؤسسات والشركات من خلال معايشة بيئة العمل والتي تكون فرصة حقيقية وملموسة للتعرف عن قرب على مختلف المجالات، بالاضافة الى ذلك عمدنا أن يشمل جدول المخيم أوقاتا ترفيهية لاضفاء وقت ممتع على مشاركة الطلاب”.
