Msheireb Museums welcome visitors during Eid al-Adha
متاحف مشيرب” تستقبل الزوار خلال أيام عيد الأضحى المبارك
Msheireb Museums (MM), the cultural destination at Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), will open their doors to visitors and guests from the second day of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The museums will welcome visitors, art connoisseurs and researchers of heritage and history from August 22 and the working hours will be from 3pm to 9pm during Eid. It will remain closed Tuesday.
MM are a significant milestone for Msheireb Properties in realising the vision of MDD, Qatar’s first sustainable and smart city regeneration project, a press statement notes.
The museums celebrate the history of four historic heritage houses in the heart of Qatar’s old town: Bin Jelmood House (raising awareness of formerly enslaved peoples), Company House (history of Qatar’s petroleum industry), Radwani House (providing insights into Qatari family life over generations), and Mohammed Bin Jassim Home (a journey through Msheireb district over time).
Located within the oldest part of the capital, they form an important part of Qatar’s national history. These reconstructed buildings and gallery spaces allow the community to engage in the significant aspects of Qatar’s heritage and traditions before the country’s rapid economic development, the statement adds.
In line with its mandate, MM built strong connections and collaborations with academic institutions, including universities, colleges, research programmes and exhibitions, to engage with the museums’ content and offerings.
Visitors to the museums have access to the library’s valuable digital resources of Qatar National Library.
To promote Qatar tourism, MM also collaborate with Qatar Tourism Authority to provide tour guides with best practices and training to share with international visitors.
تعلن متاحف مشيرب، الوجهة الثقافية في مشيرب قلب الدوحة، عن فتح أبوابها لاستقبال الزوار والضيوف ابتداءً من اليوم الثاني لعيد الأضحى المبارك.
وستغلق متاحف مشيرب أبوابها أول أيام عيد الأضحى المبارك لتعود للترحيب بالزوار ومتذوقي الفن والباحثين عن التراث والتاريخ ثاني أيام العيد الأربعاء الموافق 22 أغسطس 2018 حيث ستكون أوقات العمل من الساعة 3 عصراً وحتى 9 مساءً.
وتعتبر متاحف مشيرب معلماً مهماً ورئيسياً في مشيرب قلب الدوحة وهو أول مشروع لإعادة إحياء وسط مدينة مستدام وذكي في قطر. تحتفي متاحف مشيرب بتاريخ أربع بيوت تراثية وتساهم في تحقيق رؤية مشيرب العقارية في تقديم أول مشروع مستدام في قطر.
تحتفل متاحف مشيرب بتاريخ أربعة بيوت تراثية هي بيت بن جلمود الذي يتحدث عن تاريخ الرقّ في قطر والمنطقة، وبيت الشركة الذي يسلط الضوء على تاريخ النفط في قطر، وبيت الرضواني الذي يشكل نموذجاً لنمط الحياة القطري في الماضي، وكذلك بيت محمد بن جاسم الذي يحمل الزوار في رحلة إلى تاريخ منطقة مشيرب.
وتقع المتاحف في الحي التراثي في قلب العاصمة القديم وتشكل جزءاً مهماً من تاريخ قطر. وتوفر المباني التي أعيد ترميمها والمعارض التي تضمها هذه المتاحف مساحة مهمة للمجتمع للتعرف عن قرب على مختلف جوانب الحياة في قطر في الماضي قبل النهضة الاقتصادية الكبيرة التي شهدتها.
وفي إطار مهمتها ورسالتها، عملت متاحف مشيرب على بناء روابط قوية وشراكات تعاون مع مؤسسات أكاديمية وثقافية من ضمنها جامعات ومدارس وبرامج بحثية ومعارض بهدف الاستفادة المتبادلة من هذه القدرات. إلى جانب ذلك، وفرّت متاحف مشيرب لزوار مكتبتها القدرة على مطالعة وتصفح مصادر المعلومات الرقمية التي تتيحها مكتبة قطر الوطنية. وفي إطار تشجيعها للسياحة في قطر، تعاونت متاحف مشيرب مع الهيئة العامة للسياحة لتدريب المرشدين السياحيين على أفضل الممارسات للتعامل مع الزوار الدوليين.
