Elan Group signs pact with Omani development enterprise

Elan Group recently signed an agreement with Tamani Global Development & Investment, a diversified Omani enterprise that has multiple commercial, real estate, retail warehouse, healthcare and hospitality development projects in its portfolio.

As part of this partnership, Elan Group will expand its Digital Out-of-Home networks and launch two Novo Cinemas megaplexes at the upcoming signature developments of Tamani Global Development & Investment, Mall of Muscat and Sohar China Downtown Malls.

The agreement is “a step forward towards expanding its footprint as a regional player in its field”, Elan Group has said in a press statement.

Jaber Abdullah al-Ansari, Elan Group CEO, said: “A crucial element of Elan Group’s strategy is to grow by entering new markets and achieving business objectives overseas. We realise the importance of entering the Omani market and believe that Tamani Global Development & Investment will represent a perfect partner for us there.”

Sheikh Mahmood al-Jarwani, chairman of Tamani Global Development & Investment, added: “Joining forces with Elan Group will enable us to cater to the needs of the entertainment and media scenes of Oman. We value the importance of Elan Group’s offering and the demand for it in our Omani market.

“Under this agreement, we will create a platform to cater to these dynamic industries, set new industry standards and positively contribute towards enriching the visitors’ experience at both of our unique shopping centres: Mall of Muscat and Sohar China Downtown.”

With an underserved theatres industry in Oman, the addition of the two new cinema facilities will “boost the average number of cinema seats per capita, offering more choices for entertainment and contributing to the country’s economic diversification”, Elan Group has stressed.

The joint value of investments between Qatar and Oman has reached over QR5.5bn, according to officials who attended the Qatari-Omani joint entrepreneurs’ meeting in April, the statement notes.

Earlier this year, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding in order to drive bilateral trade and investment relations between them.

Moreover, Qatar has hosted – in the past few months – events such as a roadshow and business networking meet for Omani businesses as a step towards identifying investment opportunities in the Sultanate.

To shed more light on the increasing bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries, trade exchange has doubled since the launch of the two direct routes between Hamad Port in Qatar and Sohar and Salalah ports in Oman.

وبموجب هذه الاتفاقية، ستطلق مجموعة «إعلان» شبكتين جديدتين للإعلانات الرقمية الخارجية الأكثر تطوراً في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وداري عرض كبيرتين لنوفو سينماز ضمن مشروعين رئيسيين تنفذهما شركة تماني العالمية للتنمية والاستثمار حالياً، وهما مشروع «مسقط مول» ومركز «صحار تشاينا داون تاون».

وبهذه المناسبة، صرّح الشيخ محمود الجرواني، رئيس مجلس إدارة تماني العالمية للتنمية والاستثمار، قائلاً: «بفضل تعاوننا مع مجموعة إعلان سنتمكّن من تلبية احتياجات قطاعي الترفيه والقطاع الإعلاني في سلطنة عُمان. نحن ندرك أهمية الخدمات التي تقدمها مجموعة إعلان وحجم الإقبال عليها في السوق العُمانية. وبموجب هذه الشراكة، سنقوم بإنشاء منصة لتلبية احتياجات هذه القطاعات الحيوية ووضع معايير جديدة لها، وسوف نساهم بصورة إيجابية في إثراء تجربة الزوار في مركزي التسوق الفريدين لدينا: (مسقط مول) و(صحار تشاينا داون تاون)».

ركائز

ومن جانبه، قال السيد جابر عبدالله الأنصاري، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة إعلان: «من الركائز الأساسية في استراتيجية مجموعة إعلان تحقيق النمو والتطور عبر الدخول إلى أسواق جديدة وتحقيق أهداف أعمالنا في دول متعددة. ونحن ندرك أهمية الدخول إلى السوق العُماني، ونؤمن أن شركة تماني العالمية للتنمية والاستثمار ستكون الشريك المثالي لنا في السلطنة».

ونظراً لنقص خدمات قطاع السينما في عُمان، ستساهم إضافة اثنتين من دور عرض السينما في رفع نسبة متوسط عدد المقاعد للفرد الواحد، مما يمنح المزيد من الخيارات في مجال الترفيه ويساهم في التنوع الاقتصادي للبلاد.

وحسب مسؤولين في اللقاء القطري العُماني المشترك بين رواد الأعمال الذي انعقد في أبريل 2018، وصلت قيمة الاستثمارات المشتركة بين قطر وعُمان إلى أكثر من 5.5 مليار ريال قطري.

وفي وقت سابق من هذا العام، وقّع البلدان على مذكرة تفاهم تهدف إلى دفع العلاقات التجارية والاستثمارية الثنائية.;
