Audi reveals the specifications of its electric car

Audi is launching its first ever electric car the e-Tron quattro SUV.

The German car manufacturer will unveil the vehicle on September 17th and will start taking reservations in the US on the same date.

Its global debut will take place in San Francisco and motorists will be able to reserve one with a $1,000 deposit.

Scott Keogh, president of Audi of America, commented on the reservation process in a press release: “We’re introducing a premium, customer-centric vehicle in a premium, customer-centric way.

“With our owners and our dealers, this process allows us to offer transparency from reservation and build all the way through delivery.”

Deliveries are expected to be delivered to showrooms in the first part of 2019.

The all-electric SUV is equipped with a 95kWh battery pack and two electric motors which has a total power output of 320kW.

Starting prices for the car in Europe are expected to start around €80,000.

The realistic real-world range for the car is expected to be set around 250-miles on a single charge.

Last month the car’s interior was revealed in a set of images.

It has a clean and luxurious design including a wraparound design which is flanked by two new screens which display the image from the cameras that have replaced the wing mirrors.

Audi has also included the virtual cockpit which sits in front of the driver which replaces the instrument cluster with digital displays.

At the centre of the dashboard in the central column are two screens, one which deals with the infotainment and navigation at the top of the dashboard and one lower down that deals with things such as the car’s climate and other comfort features.

A 3D sound of the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System which comprises 16 loudspeakers and an amplifier delivering up to 705 watts of power has also been added.

كشفت شركة أودي عن بعض مواصفات سيارة “e-tron” المنتظر أن تطرحها، في سبتمبر العام الجاري.وزودت هذه السيارة بمحركين كهربائيين قادرين على توليد عزم يصل إلى 408 أحصنة، وزيادة التسارع من 0 إلى 100 كلم ثانية في غضون 6 ثوان.

كما أتت بمنظومة مكابح فريدة أكثر فعالية من المنظومات التقليدية بمقدار 20%، وذلك بفضل حساسات تصلها مع دواسة الوقود، ففي حالات الطوارئ يكفي للسائق أن يرفع رجله بشكل سريع عن الدواسة لتبدأ الحساسات بإعطاء الأوامر لمنظومة الفرملة بإبطاء حركة المركبة.

أما منظومة “استعادة الطاقة” الموجودة في هذه السيارة، فتساعد على إعادة شحن البطاريات أثناء الحركة، ما يزيد من المسافة التي تقطعها المركبة بالشحنة الواحدة.
