QU-CENG honours winners of design contest

Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) has honoured 94 students who won the Student Design Contest 2018.

The event, sponsored by Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) and Dolphin Energy, was attended by CENG dean Dr Khalifa al-Khalifa, CENG associate dean for academic affairs Prof Abdelmagid Hammuda, CENG associate dean for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Abbes Amira and CENG assistant dean for students affairs al-Jazzi Fetais, as well as students and their parents and representatives of industrial partners and stakeholders.

Dr al-Khalifa highlighted the importance of the event to recognise students who have had remarkable achievements in their departments to motivate them towards more excellence

and academic progress.

He said, “It is my honour to be at this event to share the happiness of celebrating the distinguished students and to stress the academic efforts of CENG, which is committed to fulfilling its vision to be recognised in the region for its outstanding education, research and community engagement, and for the quality of its socially responsible

graduates.”

Dolphin Energy’s general manager-Qatar Hassan al-Emadi said, “We are always proud to support youth development, academic institutions and the wider, local community and it is very satisfying to witness the great sense of happiness and celebrations displayed by everyone involved in the contest.

نظّمت كلية الهندسة بجامعة قطر حفلاً تكريمياً للطلبة المشاركين في مسابقة مشاريع تخرج طلبة كلية الهندسة 2018 لجميع برامج الكلية، وهي برامج الهندسة الكهربائية، الهندسة الميكيانيكية، الهندسة الصناعية والنظم، الهندسة الكيميائية، علوم الحاسب، هندسة الحاسب، الهندسة المدنية، العمارة والتخطيط العمراني، برعاية شركة قطر للبتروكيماويات «قابكو» وشركة دولفين للطاقة المحدودة.

شارك في هذه المسابقة جميع طلبة مشاريع التخرج ممن قاموا بعرض وشرح مشاريع مختلفة من جميع أقسام كلية الهندسة، وقام بتحكيمها لجان تحكيم مكونة من ممثلين عن المؤسسات والشركات الصناعية وأعضاء هيئة التدريس في الكلية. وقال الدكتور خليفة بن ناصر آل خليفة عميد كلية الهندسة: «تنظم كلية الهندسة هذه المسابقة للعام الخامس على التوالي لتعميق الشراكة بين الكلية والقطاع الصناعي، بهدف إطلاع المؤسسات والشركات والمجتمع المحلي على مشاريع طلبة الكلية، والتي جاءت بعد شهور طويلة من العمل والمتابعة والمثابرة، وهنا أشكر الشركات التي قامت بتقديم الدعم والاستشارات للطلبة خلال الفترة الماضية، وأدعوهم للاستثمار والاستفادة من مشاريع الطلبة التي تم عرضها اليوم، والتي تهدف في مجملها لخدمة الصناعة والمجتمع ككل».;
