Two arrested for attacking motorist and filming scene
إلقاء القبض على اثنين لمهاجمتهما سائق سيارة وتصوير المشهد
The Ministry of Interior has said it arrested two persons in relation to assaulting and verbally abusing a motorist and filming the scene.
On Friday, concerned Twitter activists urged the Ministry to take action upon a video of a man attacking a driver riding a white car.
One person was seen abusing and aggressively trying to pull the driver, who was apparently tied to the seat by seat belt, out of the car. Later the aggressor was also seen boasting about his action.
“The guy strike the man, brags about the incident and says the victim must be polite. Comrades with him film and laugh instead of stopping him. He must be held accountable, and with those laugh and film. I request the Ministry of Interior to quickly intervene in this depressing incident so as to make it a lesson for others,” one of the hundreds of enraged Twitter users wrote in Arabic.
“If your power makes you oppress people… remember God’s power on you,” said @boazouuz69, one of those replied to another tweet.
In reaction to the incident, the Ministry immediately identified the person who assaulted the driver and the one who filmed the video, and they were arrested.
The Ministry tweeted: “With reference to a video clip… the aggressor and the one who filmed were arrested, and they will be referred to the public prosecution today.”
The speedy response of the Ministry was duly praised by the Twitteratis. They said it will be a lesson and deterrent to all future aggressors. They also demanded the perpetrators be held accountable even if the victim did not file a legal complaint and if he committed a mistake, law should be applied to him too.
تداول نشطاء بموقع التواصل الإجتماعي تويتر ، اليوم، مقطع فيديو يوثق لحظة إعتداء شخص على سائق سيارة بالضرب والإهانة اللفظية وذلك بحضور عدة أشخاص مع المعتدي ، وعقب القيام بفعلته نشر مقطع فيديو يتفاخر فيه بفعلته . وقامت إحدى المغردات بنشر الفيديو مرفق بـ “منشن” لحساب وزارة الداخلية مطالبة الوزارة بسرعة التدخل لوقف المعتدي .
وتفاعلا مع الحادثة ، وعلى الفور قامت وزارة الداخلية بنشر تغريدة على حسابها الرسمي الموثق بموقع تويتر أكدت فيها إنه قد تم القبض على الشخص الذي اعتدى على سائق السيارة بيضاء اللون كما تم القبض على من قام بتصوير مقطع الفيديو، مؤكدة أنه سيتم إحالتهم إلى النيابة العامة لاستكمال الإجراءات القانونية.
وجاء في تغريدة وزارة الداخلية:”بالإشارة إلى ما تم تداوله بشأن مقطع فيديو يتضمن الاعتداء على سائق سيارة بيضاء اللون، فقد تم القبض على الشخص المعتدي ومن قام بالتصوير ، وسيتم إحالتهم إلى النيابة العامة اليوم لاستكمال إجراءاتهم في هذا الشأن”.
سرعة تجاوب وزارة الداخلية مع مقطع الفيديو وجدت تقديرا واسعا من المغردين حيث عبروا عن إشادتهم بمجهودات وزارة الداخلية ، كما طالبوا الوزارة بنشر العقوبة المفروضة على المعتدي على منصات التواصل الإجتماعي للوزارة حتى يكون عظة وعبرة لأي شخص تسوّل له نفسه بالتعدي بالضرب على انسان اخر.
واكد المغردون أنه وقبل القانون هناك التربية والأخلاق، وطالبوا بمحاسبة الجناة حتى وان لم يقم المعتدي بتقديم شكوى قانونية، مشيرين إنه وفي حالة إرتكب المعتدى عليه خطأ فهناك الجهات القانونية التي تطبق القانون.
