Desailly hails Qatar’s preparations for the 2022 World Cup

Marcel Desailly, the former France captain, visited the Heritage Wing at the headquarters of the Higher Committee for Projects and Legacy to learn about Qatar’s plans to host the first World Cup in the region. زار مارسيل دوسايي -نجم منتخب فرنسا السابق- جناح الإرث في مقر اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، وذلك للاطلاع على خطط دولة قطر لاستضافة أول بطولة لكأس العالم لكرة القدم في المنطقة. وخلال زيارته، أبدى دوسايي إعجابه بإنجازات دولة قطر استعداداً لاستضافة البطولة، واصفاً إياها «بالاستثنائية».

وفي حديث له مع اللجنة العلي، قال دوسايي: «بعد اطلاعي على خطط عمل اللجنة العليا وأهدافها المميزة لاستضافة البطولة، تيقنت أن قطر ستنظم بطولة مميزة بكل المقاييس لطبيعتها متقاربة المسافات، إذ لن يتكبد اللاعبون والمشجعون عناء السفر والتنقل إلى مسافات بعيدة، لحضور المباريات، وتشجيع فرقهم المفضلة، نظراً لتمتع قطر بموقع جغرافي مميز، كما ستكون مليارات المشجعين من مختلف أنحاء العالم على بعد رحلة جوية تستغرق أربع ساعات فقط من قلب العاصمة القطرية». وأضاف دوسايي: «أرى أن الجماهير ستكون الرابح الأكبر عند حضورها مباريات البطولة في قطر، إذ إن موقع الدولة الاستراتيجي المميز سيمنحها فرصة حضور أكثر من مباراة في اليوم الواحد».

وحول رأيه في تنظيم دولة قطر لأول بطولة لكأس العالم في المنطقة، قال دوسايي: «يحق لكل دولة تمتلك الإمكانيات اللازمة أن تستضيف هذه البطولة العالمية، وأنا سعيد بحصول جنوب إفريقيا على فرصة استضافة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم عام 2010، وقد سررت في ذلك الوقت برؤية الملايين من عشاق كرة القدم من مختلف أرجاء إفريقيا يشجعون منتخب غانا الذي تأهل إلى الدور ربع النهائي. أرى أن قطر تستحق أن تستضيف هذا الحدث العالمي عن جدارة واستحقاق، وأتابع حالياً مباريات البطولة التي تقام في مدن مختلفة في روسيا في انتظار البطولة المقبلة في قطر بعد أعوام قليلة». وفيما يتعلق بتوقعاته حول الفريق الفائز ببطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم روسيا 2018، قال دوسايي: «أعتقد أن منتخب البرازيل يملك فرصة ذهبية للفوز بكأس البطولة، حيث قدموا تصفيات رائعة دون تأثر الفريق بإصابة أفضل لاعب لديهم (نيمار لاعب فريق باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي)، كما أني أستبعد فوز البرتغال في الوقت الذي لا أرى أي منتخب إفريقي مؤهل لإحراز تقدم في البطولة، إذ إن منافسات بطولة كأس العالم تتسم بطابع خاص يختلف عن باقي المنافسات الكروية».;
