Armed forces seminar discusses blockade

The Centre for Strategic Studies of the Armed Forces organised a seminar entitled “Year on the Blockade: Current Challenges and Future Prospects” under the patronage of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, and HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces Major General Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim, in the presence of Commander of the Qatari Emiri Land Force Major General Mohamed bin Ali al-Ghanim.
The seminar highlighted the first year of the unjust blockade on Qatar and discussed its implications in all fields.
The seminar also tackled the Gulf crisis from the political perspective, the current challenges and the future prospects from the economic perspective, the role of the media, its impact from the security and military perspective, as well as its social and humanitarian dimension of the Gulf crisis.
Director of the Centre for Strategic Studies Dr Hamad al-Marri delivered a speech in which he stressed the role of the Centre in actively contributing to sensitising the members of the armed forces to what is happening in the regional and international arena, pointing out that this session comes within the framework of the efforts of the armed forces and the Centre in the continuous follow-up to the Gulf crisis and contribute to the definition and highlight the strategic risks at the local, regional and international levels.
نظم مركز الدراسات الاستراتيجية بالقوات المسلحة ندوة تحت عنوان (عام على الحصار: التحديات الراهنة وآفاق المستقبل) تحت رعاية سعادة الدكتور خالد بن محمد العطية نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الدولة لشؤون الدفاع، وسعادة الفريق الركن طيار غانم بن شاهين الغانم رئيس أركان القوات المسلحة، وبحضور سعادة اللواء الركن محمد بن علي الغانم قائد القوات البرية الأميرية.
وسلطت الندوة الضوء على حصاد العام الأول من الحصار الجائر على دولة قطر ومناقشة آثاره من جميع المجالات، حيث تناولت الندوة الأزمة الخليجية من المنظور السياسي، والتحديات الراهنة وآفاق المستقبل من المنظور الاقتصادي، ودور الإعلام وتأثيره في الأزمة الخليجية، وكذلك الأزمة الخليجية من المنظور الأمني والعسكري، والبعد الاجتماعي والإنساني للأزمة الخليجية.
وألقى سعادة اللواء الركن الدكتور حمد محمد المري قائد مركز الدراسات الاستراتيجية، كلمة شدد فيها على دور المركز في المساهمة الفعالة في توعية منتسبي القوات المسلحة بما يجري على الساحة الإقليمية والدولية، مشيرا إلى أن هذه الدورة تأتي في إطار جهود القوات المسلحة والمركز في المتابعة المستمرة للأزمة الخليجية والمساهمة في التعريف بها وتسليط الضوء على مخاطرها الاستراتيجية على المستويات المحلية والإقليمية والدولية.
