Milaha to open offices in Iraq’s Umm Qasr Port
المواصلات تعلن قرب افتتاح مكاتب لشركة ملاحة بميناء أم قصر العراقي
DOHA: The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) announced it would soon open offices affiliated to Qatari Milaha in Umm Qasr Port in Iraq.
The offices aim to facilitate the maritime flow between Qatar and Iraq, which is a step that comes in harmony with the great development of relations between Qatar and Iraq, especially that the Qatari-Iraqi relations are approaching an important stage of bilateral cooperation at all levels in order to benefit the people of both countries.
A statement issued by the ministry highlighted the results of the meeting between Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Iraq’s Transport Minister Kazem Finjan during his visit to Doha in April. The meeting resulted in a fruitful cooperation and mutual intentions to promote the joint cooperation in the areas of shipping, ports and aviation.
The statement said the results of the meeting quickly came into effect by launching the new direct maritime shipping line between Hamad Port and Umm Qasr port on May 7. The shipping line was announced during the meeting to help open wide horizons of mutual cooperation and promote developing trade and economic relations between both countries. It also aims to provide more flexibility for clients and Iraqi partners through providing wider coverage of ports and lessening shipping duration.
أعلنت وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات، عن افتتاح مكاتب تابعة لشركة /ملاحة/ القطرية في ميناء /أم قصر/ بالعراق، خلال الفترة المقبلة.
وذكرت الوزارة، في بيان لها اليوم، أن افتتاح هذه المكاتب يهدف إلى تسهيل حركة الملاحة بين قطر والعراق، حيث تأتي هذه الخطوة انسجاماً مع ما تشهده العلاقات بين البلدين من تطور كبير، خاصة أن العلاقات القطرية العراقية مقبلة على مرحلة مهمة من التعاون الثنائي الأخوي على كافة الأصعدة، بما يعود بالنفع على شعبي البلدين الشقيقين.
ونوه البيان بنتائج الاجتماع الذي جرى بين سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات والاتصالات وسعادة السيد كاظم فنجان الحمامي وزير النقل بجمهورية العراق خلال زيارته إلى الدوحة في أبريل الماضي، والتي أسفرت عن تعاون مثمر ونوايا مشتركة لتعزيز التعاون المشترك في مجالات النقل البحري والموانئ والطيران.
وأوضح أن نتائج هذا الاجتماع تبلورت بشكل سريع في تدشين الخط الملاحي البحري المباشر الجديد بين ميناء حمد وميناء أم قصر في 7 مايو الجاري، وهو الخط الذي كان قد تم الإعلان عنه خلال الاجتماع الأخير ليساهم في فتح آفاق رحبة من التعاون المشترك وتعزيز العلاقات التجارية والاقتصادية المتنامية بين البلدين الشقيقين، فضلا عن توفير المزيد من المرونة للعملاء والشركاء العراقيين من خلال تقديم تغطية أكبر للموانئ وتخفيض أوقات الإبحار.
