DIFI to hold conference on ‘Parenting, Child Wellbeing, and Development’

DOHA: Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), is to hold its international conference titled ‘Parenting, Child Wellbeing, and Development’ in collaboration with UNICEF-MENARO at the Qatar National Convention Centre on October 23-24.

The conference will highlight the importance of investing in parents and parenting strategies, programs, laws, and policies at all levels. It will identify the different approaches adopted by governments around the world to support parents and promote positive parenting practices.

The conference will also present and discuss evidence on the main challenges facing parents and possible responses to them. It will promote parenting-specific policies and programs to support parents and caregivers. In addition, it will identify and showcase examples of evidence-based and innovative parenting programs from around the world.

The DIFI International Conference will propose section themes on parenting matters, including supporting working parents, parenting in humanitarian settings, and parental conflict and absence.

In addition to the opportunities and challenges of parenting in the digital era, investing in parenting education programs, parenting children living with disabilities and behavioural problems, and parenting across the Arab region.

The event will provide a platform for policy-makers, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of civil society organizations from around the world to discuss and debate parenting issues and propose interventions to support parenting.

ينظم معهد الدوحة الدولي للأسرة، عضو مؤسسة قطر، مؤتمره الدولي الثالث تحت عنوان “التربية الوالدية ورفاه الطفل والتنمية”، وذلك بالتعاون مع منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (اليونيسف) في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، بتاريخ 23 – 24 أكتوبر 2018، في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة بمركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات.

ويهدف هذا المؤتمر إلى إبراز أهمية الاستثمار في الوالدين والاستراتيجيات والبرامج والقوانين والسياسات الوالدية على جميع المستويات، كما سيحدد الأساليب المختلفة التي تتبناها الحكومات حول العالم لدعم الوالدين وتعزيز ممارسات التربية الوالدية الإيجابية. كما سيتم عرض ومناقشة أهم التحديات التي يواجهها الوالدان في العصر الحديث، وآليات الاستجابة، إضافة إلى تشجيع تبني السياسات والبرامج الموجهة لدعم التربية الوالدية والآباء والأمهات ومقدمي الرعاية الوالدية للأطفال، وتحديد وعرض أمثلة لبرامج التربية الوالدية المبنية على الأدلة من جميع أنحاء العالم.

وسيدور المؤتمر حول محاورعدة منها التربية الوالدية في العصر الحديث، فرصها وتحدياتها وأهمية دواعي الاستثمار فيها، ودعم الوالدين العاملين، والتربية الوالدية في الأوضاع الإنسانية والمنطقة العربية. كما يتناول المؤتمر قضايا النزاع الأسري، وغياب الوالدين، والتربية الوالدية للأطفال ذوي الإعاقة، والمشاكل السلوكية والتربية الوالدية في المنطقة العربية.

وسيوفر المؤتمر منبرا لصناع السياسات ومقدمي الخدمات والباحثين وممثلي منظمات المجتمع المدني من جميع أنحاء العالم لمناقشة قضايا تربية الأطفال، واقتراح التدخلات اللازمة لدعم الآباء والأمهات ومقدمي الرعاية الوالدية.
