200 new converts to Islam participate in Holy Quran Competition
٢٠٠ مهتدٍ جديد يشاركون في اختبارات مسابقة الشيخ جاسم للقرآن
DOHA: About 200 new converts to Islam — males and females — have participated the 6th edition of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Holy Quran Competition hosted by Abdullah Bin Zid Almahmud Cultural And Islamic Center.
“The newly convert participants are expatriates hailing from 11 countries of Asia and Africa,” said Sultan Sad Al Badar, a member of the Organising Committee of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani Holy Quran Competition.
He said that women converts are actively participating in the competition. “A separate section for new converts was added to competition to create opportunity for them to interact and learn Holy Quran properly,” said Al Badar.
He said that the competition section for new converts included three categories. He further said that the requirement of the participation was that the converting time should not accede more than three years so the new converts can participate.
“Abdullah Bin Zid Almahmud Cultural And Islamic Center organised many programme for converts like educational and those related to learning Holy Quran and Arabic language to help them merge in Muslim society,” said Al Badar. All participants will receive valuable prizes.
شارك نحو 200 من المهتدين الجدد من الذكور والإناث في النسخة السادسة من مسابقة الشيخ جاسم بن محمد بن ثاني للقرآن الكريم فرع «المهتدين الجدد»، والتي احتضها مركز عبدالله بن زيد آل محمود الثقافي الإسلامي.
ويهدف هذا الفرع الذي يركز على حفظ قصار السور من القرآن الكريم وصولاً إلى جزء عم مع سورة الفاتحة، إلى خدمة المهتدين الجدد، وربطهم بكتاب الله، وتلاوته، وتدبره، وتشجيعهم على تعلم اللغة العربية، والعلوم الشرعية المختلفة. وقال السيد سلطان سعد البدر، عضو اللجنة المنظمة لمسابقة الشيخ جاسم بن محمد بن ثاني للقرآن الكريم، إن عدد المشاركين هذا العام بلغ قرابة مئتي مهتد ومهتدية، ينتمون إلى 11 جنسية مختلفة، من دول قارتي آسيا وإفريقيا، مقيمة في البلاد، منوهاً بوجود نماذج طيبة في الحفظ والتجويد من الجنسين، والإقبال النسائي الكبير من المهتديات على المشاركة في المسابقة.
وأوضح البدر أن تخصيص فرع للمهتدين بالمسابقة يأتي في إطار الاهتمام بالمهتدين الجدد، وإشراكهم في مسابقات القرآن الكريم، بغية تعزيز الأخوة والتعاضد بينهم، وزيادة الانتماء للإسلام، والإيمان في قلوبهم، بالإضافة إلى تعليمهم كتاب الله، وربطهم بآدابه وأحكامه، والعمل على رعايتهم، وترسيخ مفهوم الإسلام الصحيح في صدورهم.;
