Qatar informs UN of three air violations by UAE and Bahrain
قطر تبلغ مجلس الأمن وغوتيريش عن 3 خروقات جوية لمجالها قامت بها طائرات عسكرية إماراتية وبحرينية
New York: Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of three air violations of Qatar’s sovereignty committed by the UAE and Bahrain.
This came in a message by the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Security Council president for March Karel van Oosterom.
In a letter sent the UNSC on Friday, Qatari authorities said a Bahraini military aircraft overflew the exclusive economic zone of Qatar on February 28.
The plane was intercepted by a Qatari fighter jet before it left Qatari airspace, according to the letter.
On January 14, an Emirati military aircraft overflew Qatari territorial waters without permission from authorities in Doha, the letter further stated, adding that on February 25, another Emirati military aircraft approached the Qatari border before changing course after warnings were issued.
The message said that the continued air violations by the UAE and Bahrain and their violations of Qatari sovereignty are serious breach and flagrant violations of international law.
Qatar warned against the continued attempts by the two countries to ignite incidents that would increase tension in the region and without regard to Qatar’s security and stability.
The Qatar government called upon the Security Council and the United Nations to take the necessary measures under the Charter of the United Nations to maintain international peace and security.
In conclusion, the message said that the Qatar government affirms its commitment to exercise the highest degree of restraint, abide by the Charter of the United Nations and promote good-neighborly relations. It strongly condemns and rejects any breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reserves the full right to respond to any violations in line with its sovereign right, in accordance with the provisions of international law. It reaffirms that it will take the necessary measures to defend its borders, airspace and sea and its national security, in accordance with international laws and regulations.
أبلغت دولة قطر، مجلس الأمن الدولي والأمين العام للأمم المتحدة عن ثلاثة خروقات جوية لسيادة دولة قطر قامت بها كل من دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة ومملكة البحرين.
جاء ذلك في رسالة وجهتها سعادة السفيرة الشيخة علياء أحمد بن سيف آل ثاني المندوب الدائم لدولة قطر لدى الأمم المتحدة إلى سعادة السيد أنطونيو غوتيريش أمين عام الأمم المتحدة، وإلى سعادة السفير كاريل فان اوستريم رئيس مجلس الأمن الدولي لهذا الشهر.
وذكرت الرسالة أن طائرة نقل جوي عسكرية إماراتية اخترقت المجال الجوي لدولة قطر يوم /الأحد/ 14 يناير الماضي، كما قامت طائرة نقل عسكرية إماراتية من نوع C-130 يوم /الأحد/ 25 فبراير الماضي باختراق المجال الجوي القطري، وفي يوم /الأربعاء/ 28 فبراير الماضي تم رصد دخول طائرة عسكرية بحرينية المنطقة الاقتصادية الخالصة لدولة قطر.
وأوضحت أن الطائرة كانت تحلق فوق المنطقة الاقتصادية الخالصة القطرية دون تصريح دبلوماسي مسبق من قبل الجهات المعنية بدولة قطر، فتم إعطاء أمر إقلاع فوري لطائرة إنذار قمرة، مما دفع الطائرة البحرينية إلى الخروج من المنطقة الاقتصادية الخالصة القطرية.
وقالت إن الخروقات الجوية المستمرة من قبل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وكذلك مملكة البحرين وانتهاكاتهما للسيادة القطرية، تعتبر خروقات خطيرة وانتهاكا صارخا للقانون الدولي، وقد حذرت دولة قطر من استمرار محاولات الدولتين لافتعال حوادث من شأنها زيادة التوتر في المنطقة ودون اعتبار لأمن دولة قطر واستقرارها.
وقد طالبت حكومة دولة قطر مجلس الأمن الدولي والأمم المتحدة باتخاذ ما يلزم، بموجب ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، لحفظ السلم والأمن الدوليين.
وشددت الرسالة، في الختام، على أن حكومة دولة قطر تؤكد حرصها على ممارسة أعلى درجات ضبط النفس والالتزام بميثاق الأمم المتحدة وتعزيز علاقات حسن الجوار، فإنها تدين وترفض بشدة أي خرق لسيادتها وسلامتها الإقليمية، وتحتفظ بكامل الحق في الرد على أي انتهاكات انسجاما مع حقها السيادي المشروع وفق أحكام القانون الدولي.. وجددت التأكيد على أنها ستتخذ الإجراءات اللازمة للدفاع عن حدودها ومجالها الجوي والبحري وأمنها القومي، وفقاً للقوانين والضوابط الدولية.
