Doha Islamic Youth Forum begins today

*Forum to provide an interactive platform for young people to exchange ideas and discuss different issues
The Doha Islamic Youth Forum kicks off Sunday at QNCC, under the theme “Youth is the power of the nation”, which is part of the activities of Doha, Capital of Islamic Youth 2019.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the forum will continue until July 11, hosting about 90 young people representing 56 countries of the Islamic world, including 20 Qatari youth.
The forum is organised in co-operation between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Islamic Youth Cooperation Forum, the youth wing of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), and under the supervision and organisation of the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events.
Issues related to youth including good governance and transparency, importance of sustainable development, youth and social media, and diplomatic simulations are among the major topics on the agenda.
These discussions are accompanied by three workshops.
HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali described the Doha Forum for Islamic Youth as “a unique event” at this particular time when the Islamic nations are facing many challenges.
The forum will contribute to the promotion of cultural exchange among young Muslims providing an interactive platform for youth coming from different Islamic countries to learn from and about each other.
“This forum is an opportunity to empower young people by expanding their participation and initiative, building capacities and promoting cultural diversity as a value on which to build joint ventures and to connect young people from other countries and cultures,” he said.
The minister added: “It is not possible to achieve sustainability without the availability of these elements and our bet on our youth is a basic value bet, emphasising the central role of youth”.
The motto “Youth is the power of the nation”, will be the theme of Doha, the Islamic Youth Capital 2019 throughout the year.
Dr Issa al-Hur, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Doha Youth Capital 2019, said the forum will be a great opportunity for young people to exchange ideas and discuss different issues.
He said the youth participating in the forum will discuss various issues that will be presented at the forum, in addition to the workshops where the “young people will discuss the problem and develop solutions to these problems by themselves”.
After these discussions, Dr al-Hur said the youth will be trained on the model of the Islamic Co-operation Organisation summit. This will help young people to gain leadership skills, identify the nature of the problems, and how to address them by finding appropriate solutions.
Aisha al-Mahmoud, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, said that all necessary preparations for the forum have been completed.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports has provided all the necessary resources to ensure success of this forum.
Muayed al-Qahtani, Head of Public Relations at Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events, said that the centre is keen to provide all the necessary supports and resources including various forms of logistical support and accommodations for the participants.
ينطلق اليوم الأحد منتدى الدوحة للشباب الإسلامي، وذلك ضمن فعاليات الدوحة عاصمة الشباب الإسلامي 2019، وذلك تحت شعار «الأمة بشبابها»، وهو شعار الفعاليات على مدار العام. تجري إقامة المنتدى بالتعاون بين وزارة الثقافة والرياضة ومنتدى شباب التعاون الإسلامي، الذراع الشبابية لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي، وبإشراف وتنظيم مركز قطر للفعاليات الثقافية والتراثية. يشارك بالمنتدى -الذي يقام بمركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات- قرابة 90 شاباً، يمثلون 57 دولة من دول العالم الإسلامي، من بينهم 20 شاباً قطرياً. ويتواصل المنتدى حتى 11 يوليو الحالي. تدور محاور المنتدى حول الشباب والرهان على التنمية المستدامة، والحوكمة الرشيدة والشفافية لدى الشباب، والشباب ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، والمحاكاة الدبلوماسية. وتصاحب هذه المحاور ثلاث ورش عملية.
وصف سعادة صلاح بن غانم العلي، وزير الثقافة والرياضة، منتدى الدوحة للشباب الإسلامي بأنه «محطة مميزة في هذه المرحلة بالذات، حيث تشهد الأمة تحديات كثيرة، وسيساهم المنتدى في تعزيز التبادل الثقافي بين الشباب الإسلامي، فهو مساحة تفاعل للشباب الإسلامي من دول مختلفة، مما يتيح فرصة التعرف على الآخر من ثقافات متنوعة، ولرفع كفاءة الشباب، من خلال توفير بيئة مميزة لدعم التعاون والعمل المشترك». وقال وزير الثقافة والرياضة إن «هذا المنتدى فرصة لتمكين الشباب، من خلال توسيع مجال المشاركة والمبادرة، وبناء القدرات الريادية، وتعزيز التنوع الثقافي كقيمة تنظّم على أساسها المشاريع المشتركة والتعارف بين الشباب من دول وثقافات أخرى».
وأضاف: إنه «لا يمكن تحقيق الاستدامة دون توفر هذه المقومات. إن رهاننا على شبابنا الإسلامي رهان قيمي في الأساس، يؤكد الدور المركزي للشباب، وأن الأمة بشبابها».
مناقشات شبابية
من جانبه، قال الدكتور عيسى الحر، رئيس اللجنة الفنية لفعاليات الدوحة عاصمة الشباب الإسلامي 2019، إن المنتدى سيكون فرصة كبيرة لطرح أفكار الشباب فيما بينهم، ومناقشة هذه الأفكار على مستوى المشاركين من الشباب، والذين سيمثلون قرابة 56 دولة.
وقال د. الحر إن الشباب المشارك في المنتدى سيبحث في المحاور المختلفة التي سيطرحها المنتدى، بالإضافة إلى الورش التي سيشهدها، والتي ستنتهي إلى حلول ببصمات الشباب أنفسهم، موضحاً أن «الشباب هم الذين سيناقشون المشكلة، وهم أنفسهم الذين سيضعون حلولاً لها».
وتابع: إن «هذا كله سيساهم في تعريف الشباب بطبيعة المشكلات التي تواجههم، وكيفية وضع الحلول المناسبة لها، وهو ما سيؤدي إلى تحفيزهم على صياغة القرارات، ومن ثم تنفيذها، بناءً على كل هذه المعطيات، والتي شهدتها مناقشاتهم».
ولفت د. الحر إلى أنه «بعد كل هذه المناقشات، سينتقل الشباب إلى
المحاكاة الدبلوماسية، بتحويلهم إلى محاكاة القمة الإسلامية، وما يدور من مناقشات بين الحكومات، وذلك بهدف النظر في المقترحات التي تم طرحها، الأمر الذي سيجعل الشباب أمام دورين، جراء كل هذه المناقشات والورش. الأول الوقوف على طبيعة المشكلة، والثاني حلها، وذلك كله من خلال جهود الشباب أنفسهم».
ووصف د. عيسى الحر مثل هذه الآلية التي سيشهدها المنتدى بـ «الرائعة»، «لأنها تضع الشباب في بؤرة صناعة القرار ومدى تنفيذه، ارتباطاً بالمشكلة المراد حلها، وهو ما يكسب الشباب مهارات قيادية عالية، علاوة على تمكينهم من الوقوف على طبيعة المشكلات من ناحية، وكيفية التصدي لها، تمهيداً لحلها من ناحية أخرى».
وثمن د. الحر جهود وزارة الثقافة والرياضة في تنظيم مثل هذه الفعالية، وتوفير جميع أشكال الدعم اللوجستي لها، انطلاقاً من تنظيمها لفعاليات الدوحة عاصمة الشباب الإسلامي 2019، مثمناً دور مركز قطر للفعاليات الثقافية والتراثية، وجهوده في الإشراف والتنظيم لهذا المنتدى، وتوفيره جميع الإمكانات لإنجاحه، بما يليق بالمناسبة ذاتها.
