7,460 volunteers to participate in efforts to tackle Coronavirus

The volunteering initiative launched by Qatar Charity (QC) to contribute to the efforts made by the country to curb the spread of COVID-19 has received an overwhelming response from the people in Qatar, both citizens and residents.
The number of volunteers has jumped to 7,460, out of 8,000 volunteers targeted by Qatar Charity. A group of volunteers has embarked on their efforts in this regard.
The initiative was launched to support the civil society, respond quickly to any emergency at any time, and benefit from volunteers’ capabilities for community service.
Any Qatari national or resident aged 18 or above can volunteer. The applicant must also be medically-fit to carry out volunteering activities.
Qatar Charity has urged people to volunteer to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), calling on them to register for volunteering online at https://www.qcharity.org/en/qa/volunteer.
Several governmental bodies are contributing to the efforts by the Qatar Charity, in line with the country’s plan to engage all institutions and organisations to curb the spread of COVID-19 and minimise the infections.
The employees of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) participated in these efforts by preparing food baskets and necessary supplies.
Besides, Qatar Charity is co-operating with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) in implementing an awareness campaign for workers to urge them to take preventive and precautionary measures against COVID-19.
The campaign includes the distribution of many brochures and the release of video clips in various languages including Urdu, Hindi, Filipino, and Sri Lankan.
Personal hygiene items, food supplies, and multilingual awareness leaflets have been distributed to 3,500 workers in the industrial areas of Al Khor, Al Shamal, Al Shahaniya, in addition to 500 workers in Al Wakra.
The awareness campaign included instructions on washing one’s hands with soap and water, covering the nose and mouth with a clean tissue when coughing and sneezing and disposing of the used tissue in the trash immediately, and avoiding touching nose, eyes and mouth

7,460 متطوعا سجلوا من المواطنين والمقيمين من أصل 8 آلاف متطوع مطلوبون
مبادرة قطر الخيرية التي أطلقتها تحت وسم “#متطوع -لأجل- قطر” للمساهمة في الجهود التي تبذلها الدولة للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد -19) بحسب معايير وزارة الصحة العامة والجهات المعنية بقطر، وجدت تجاوبا كبيرا حيث وصل عدد المتطوعين حتى الان إلى 7,460 متطوعا من المواطنين والمقيمين، من أصل 8 آلاف متطوع تستهدف الوصول إليهم. وقد باشر مجموعة من المتطوعين في دعم هذه الجهود.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة لمساندة المجتمع المدني والاستجابة السريعة لأي عمل في أي وقت والاستفادة من كل الجهود التطوعية، عبر توظيف قدرات المتطوعين للمساهمة في خدمة المجتمع.
ويشترط أن يكون المتطوع قطري الجنسية او من المقيمين بدولة قطر، وألا يقل عمره عن 18 سنة، كما يجب أن يكون المتقدم لائقا طبيا لأداء الأعمال المطلوبة منه. وحثت قطر الخيرية الراغبين في التطوع في الجهود التي تقوم بها للوقاية من فيروس كورونا والمساهمة في الحد من انتشاره التسجيل من خلال الرابط http://qch.qa/volunteer
جميعا لمكافحة الفيروس
وتساهم في جهود قطر الخيرية التطوعية جهات حكومية انسجاما مع خطة الدولة الداعية لإشراك كافة المؤسسات والمنظمات للحد من انتشار كورونا ومحاولة السيطرة عليه وتقليل الإصابات به، حيث شارك موظفو هيئة الاشغال العامة من خلال برنامج “سفراء أشغال” في هذه الجهود بالإعداد والتجهيز للسلال الغذائية.
حملات توعوية مكثفة
كما تتعاون قطر الخيرية مع وزارتي الصحة العامة والتنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية في تنفيذ حملة توعوية للعمال لحثهم على اتباع الإجراءات الوقائية من فيروس كورونا المستجد «كوفيد 19» واتخاذ التدابير الاحترازية، حيث ساهمت في هذا الشأن بتوزيع عدد من المنشورات والفيديوهات التوعوية على العمال بعدة لغات مثل الأوردية والهندية والفلبينية والسريلانكية.
كما تم توزيع مستلزمات النظافة الشخصية والوقائية والغذائية والمنشورات التوعوية، على أكثر من 3500 عامل في منطقة صناعية الخور وصناعية وعزب الشمال كما تم التوزيع في عزب الشحانية، إضافة إلى 500 عامل في منطقة عزب الوكرة للحفاظ على صحة العمال وللوقاية من انتشار فيروس كورونا.
إرشادات
وتشمل الإرشادات ضرورة غسل الأيدي دائماً، وتغطية الأنف والفم بمنديل نظيف عند السعال والعطس ورمي المنديل المستعمل في سلة المهملات فوراً، وغسل اليدين بعد ذلك، وتجنب لمس الأنف والعينين والفم، كما تشمل الإرشادات تجنب قدر المستطاع مخالطة الأشخاص الذين تظهر عليهم أعراض الأمراض التنفسية مثل السعال وارتفاع درجات الحرارة، واتباع الإجراءات الإرشادية الصحية والتعليمات الرسمية التي يتم نشرها من قبل الدولة
