St. Petersburg: A penalty from Emil Forsberg was enough to help Sweden beat Slovakia 1-0 and edge them closer towards qualification to the knockout phase of the Euro 2020.
It was a match of few chances. The breakthrough came when Alexander Isak set teammate Robin Quaison, and the latter was brought down by Martin Dubravka before Forsberg slotted the ball home from the penalty spot. It was only the third spot kick scored at the tournament from five awarded.
Sweden now top their group with four points, although Spain still has not played its second match and could topple Sweden if they win by more than one goal.
