WHO: Nothing confirms the efficacy of reciprocal vaccination

Geneva: WHO has refrained from making recommendations for so-called “reciprocal vaccination” against COVID-19, which uses two doses of two different vaccines to complete immunization, stressing that “there is no indication of the efficacy of this so far.”
WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris said in remarks today that sufficient information has not been available yet on the potential risks of a first AstraZeneca vaccination dose and a second dose of another vaccine, noting that work is continuing with the initial recommendation issued by a WHO panel of experts in February that “the same product should be injected for the two vaccination doses at the moment.”
Meanwhile, given the different views on AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and their association with blood clotting cases which some patients who were vaccinated with vaccines of this kind suffered from, WHO experts have called for further research to verify the use of a mixture of vaccines.
Many countries around the world have suspended vaccinations of their citizens with AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines after blood clotting cases emerged in some patients who received the first dose of these vaccines.

وقالت السيدة مارجريت هاريس المتحدثة باسم المنظمة، في تصريحات اليوم، إنه لم تتوفر بعد معلومات كافية بشأن المخاطر المحتملة لجرعة تطعيم أولى من لقاح “أسترازينيكا” وجرعة ثانية بلقاح آخر، مشيرة إلى أنه العمل لايزال مستمرا بالتوصية الأولية التي أصدرتها هيئة خبراء بمنظمة الصحة العالمية في فبراير الماضي والتي ذكرت فيها أنه “يتعين حقن نفس المنتج لجرعتي التطعيم في الوقت الراهن”.
في غضون ذلك وفي ظل الآراء المختلفة بخصوص لقاحي “أسترازينيكا” و”جونسون أند جونسون” ومدى ارتباطهما بحالات تخثر الدم التي تعرض لها بعض المرضى الذين تم تطعيمهم بلقاحات من هذا النوع، دعا خبراء منظمة الصحة العالمية لإجراء مزيد من الأبحاث للتحقق من استخدام خليط من اللقاحات.
يذكر أن عديد دول العالم أوقفت عمليات تطعيم مواطنيها بلقاحات “أسترازينيكا” و”جونسون أند جونسون” بعد ظهور حالات تخثر في الدم لدى بعض المرضى الذين تلقوا الجرعة الأولى من هذين اللقاحين.
