QatarEnergy Announces 10-Year Naphtha Supply Agreement with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation

Tokyo: QatarEnergy has announced the signing of a long-term naphtha supply agreement with Japan-based Marubeni Corporation, a leading integrated trading and investment business conglomerate.

The agreement was signed by QatarEnergy, for and on behalf of Qatar Petroleum for the Sale of Petroleum Products Company Ltd. (QPSPP), and Marubeni Petroleum Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation.
The 10-year sale agreement stipulates the supply of up to 1.2 million tons per annum of Naphtha to Marubeni starting from October 2023.

This agreement is based on the successful and long-term relationship enjoyed between both entities and builds on the 5-year Naphtha sales agreement signed in 2018, which expires in September 2023.

In remarks marking this occasion, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi said: “This agreement further enhances the long-standing, strategic, and fruitful relationship between QatarEnergy and Marubeni Corporation, spanning several decades. We are proud of the continued cooperation with our Japanese partners such as Marubeni Corporation, which reinforces Japans trust in Qatar as a reliable energy provider while further fostering cooperation between the two countries.” QatarEnergy and Marubeni Corporation have a long-standing strategic partnership through several shared investments in the energy industry in Qatar, including investment in Al-Kharsaah solar power plant and Mesaieed power plant.

Marubeni Corporation is the largest petrochemical feedstock trading entity and aggregator in Asia. It has received continuous and stable supplies of various grades of Naphtha from Qatar since 1986, which has enabled Marubeni Corporation to reliably supply a variety of end users in Japan.

طوكيو: وقعت قطر للطاقة اتفاقية طويلة الأمد لبيع النافثا لمؤسسة ماروبيني اليابانية، وهي شركة عالمية رائدة ومتكاملة في مجال التجارة والاستثمار.

ووقعت الاتفاقية كل من قطر للطاقة بالنيابة عن شركة قطر للبترول لبيع المنتجات البترولية المحدودة، وشركة ماروبيني للبترول المحدودة، التابعة لمؤسسة ماروبيني اليابانية .

وسيتم بموجب الاتفاقية توريد ما يصل إلى 1.2 مليون طن سنويا من النافثا إلى /ماروبيني/، بدءا من أكتوبر 2023، ولمدة عشر سنوات.

وتستند هذه الاتفاقية إلى العلاقة الناجحة وطويلة الأمد التي يتمتع بها الطرفان، وتأتي استكمالا لاتفاقية تم التوقيع عليها عام 2018 لبيع النافثا، لمدة خمس سنوات تنتهي في شهر سبتمبر 2023.

وقال سعادة المهندس سعد بن شريدة الكعبي، وزير الدولة لشؤون الطاقة، العضو المنتدب والرئيس التنفيذي لقطر للطاقة، “إن الاتفاقية تعزز العلاقة التاريخية والاستراتيجية المثمرة بين قطر للطاقة ومؤسسة ماروبيني والتي تمتد لعدة عقود. ونحن نعتز بالتعاون المستمر مع شركائنا اليابانيين مثل مؤسسة ماروبيني، وهو ما يعزز من ثقة اليابان بدولة قطر كمورد للطاقة ويسهم في تعميق التعاون بين البلدين”.

وترتبط قطر للطاقة مع مؤسسة ماروبيني بشراكة استراتيجية طويلة الأمد، من خلال العديد من الاستثمارات المشتركة في صناعة الطاقة في دولة قطر، والتي تشمل الاستثمار في محطة الخرسعة للطاقة الشمسية ومحطة مسيعيد للطاقة.

وتعد مؤسسة ماروبيني أكبر كيان تجاري بتروكيماوي في آسيا. وقد تلقت إمدادات مستمرة ومستقرة من مختلف أنواع النافثا من قطر منذ عام 1986، وهو ما مكن هذه المؤسسة من خدمة مجموعة متنوعة من المستهلكين النهائيين في اليابان وبشكل موثوق.
