QRCS launches fundraising drive to support coronavirus control efforts

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched a fundraising campaign to combat coronavirus, protect the medical and other professionals fighting the virus, and help the vulnerable families financially affected by the stay-at-home policy.

QRCS targets to raise QR11.3m to implement a handful of projects towards the country’s goal of zero coronavirus infection. The two-month campaign is estimated to benefit more than 8,000 persons.

Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of QRCS, commented: “Over the past couple of months, we worked hard to curb the spread of the deadly virus. Our volunteers and medical personnel stood heroically in the face of risks. Working 24/7, they showed unrivaled dedication to their national and professional responsibility”.

“To build on the work already done, it is necessary to engage the community in supporting the brave organizations and persons as they deal with the pandemic,” said Al-Hammadi. “Both the nationals and residents are called upon to return the favor and stand by our beloved country. We are confident that the people of Qatar are up to it. Giving generously, they always prove the fact that Qatar is the land of security and prosperity, caring for every life”.

He described the campaign as a “perfectly national initiative” to protect Qatar against Coronavirus outbreak. It conforms to the principles of humanitarian advocacy and international epidemic control standards.

“QRCS adopts a strategy to attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly ‘Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’,” he added.

Under approval No. 1038/2020 from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), several projects will be executed in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

These include: Control of Coronavirus by providing health and psychological services for those at risk of infection at quarantine locations and by raising awareness of workers at health centers, companies and factories; provision of health care and personal supplies for inmates and workers at quarantine locations (mattresses, blankets, clothes, and hygiene kits); provision of psychological support for the quarantined persons to boost their morale throughout the isolation period; provision of health protective supplies such as masks and sanitizers to ensure Coronavirus protection; provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the volunteers and staff working at facilities or districts at risk of infection; and provision of food meals for the workers and other vulnerable groups affected by stop of work and home quarantine.

أعلن الهلال الأحمر القطري إطلاق حملة خيرية لحشد الدعم المجتمعي، من أجل مساندة جهود الدولة في مكافحة فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19». وتهدف الحملة إلى حماية الفرق الطبية وغيرها من العاملين في جهود المكافحة، ومساعدة الأسر الضعيفة التي تأثرت بسبب الفيروس. ويسعى الهلال الأحمر القطري عبر الحملة إلى جمع مبلغ 11.3 مليون ريال من أجل تنفيذ حزمة من التدخلات والمشاريع التي تساهم في تحقيق أهداف الدولة بالقضاء على مخاطر الوباء. وتستمر الحملة لمدة شهرين، ومن المتوقع أن يستفيد منها أكثر من 8 آلاف شخص.

قال سعادة السفير علي بن حسن الحمادي الأمين العام للهلال الأحمر القطري: «لم تتوقف جهودنا طوال الشهرين الماضيين من أجل مجابهة الفيروس الذي اجتاح العالم، ووقف متطوعونا وكوادرنا الطبية كالأبطال، ضاربين أروع الأمثلة في أداء واجبهم الوطني ورسالتهم المهنية السامية».

وأكد سعادته أن هناك حاجة لإشراك المجتمع في تحمل جزء من العبء الواقع على عاتق كل المؤسسات والأفراد الشجعان الذين يتصدون لهذا الوباء.

وأعرب عن ثقته في أن أهل قطر على قدر المسؤولية دوماً في تلبية النداء، فلطالما أثبتوا بعطائهم السخي أن قطر هي بحق أرض الأمن والرخاء، وأنها تحافظ على حياة كل إنسان يعيش على أرضها».

وأكد الحمادي أن الحملة ملف وطني بامتياز لحماية دولة قطر من «كورونا» ومكافحة انتشاره محلياً، كما أنها تتوافق مع مبادئ المناصرة الإنسانية والمعايير الدولية لمكافحة الأوبئة، وتتوافق مع استراتيجية الهلال الأحمر القطري لتعزيز أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة.

وتتضمن الحملة سلسلة من المشاريع المهمة المرخصة من هيئة تنظيم الأعمال الخيرية تحت رقم 1038/2020، وسوف يتم تنفيذها بالشراكة مع وزارة الصحة العامة، ومؤسسة حمد الطبية، ومؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية.

وتنقسم هذه المشاريع إلى مكافحة انتشار الفيروس عن طريق تقديم الخدمات الصحية والنفسية للمعرضين للإصابة أثناء الحجر الصحي، وتوعية أوساط العمال من مراجعي المراكز الصحية أو في مقرات الشركات والمصانع.

وتشمل المشاريع تقديم الرعاية الصحية وتأمين المستلزمات الشخصية للنزلاء والعاملين في مراكز الحجر الصحي، وتقديم الدعم النفسي للمقيمين بالحجر الصحي ورفع روحهم المعنوية لتحمل فترة العزل.

كما تشمل توفير المستلزمات الصحية الوقائية مثل الكمامات الطبية والمطهرات اللازمة للحماية من انتشار الوباء، والملابس الوقائية للمتطوعين والعاملين في الأماكن والمناطق المعرضة لخطر الإصابة بالعدوى، إضافة إلى توفير الوجبات الغذائية للعمال والفئات الضعيفة.

3 طرق للتبرع في الحملة

رحب الهلال الأحمر القطري باستلام التبرعات في الحملة عن طريق الموقع الإلكتروني (www.qrcs.org.qs)، أو الاتصال بالخطوط الساخنة (66666364 – 66644822)، أو بإرسال رسالة نصية قصيرة كما يلي:

-مكافحة انتشار فيروس كورونا: أرسل «CO» إلى الرقم 92246 للتبرع بمبلغ 1000 ر.ق

– تقديم الرعاية الصحية: أرسل «CH» إلى الرقم 92246 للتبرع بمبلغ 1000 ريال

– تقديم الدعم النفسي: أرسل «CP» إلى الرقم 92552 للتبرع بمبلغ 250 ريالاً

-توفير المستلزمات الصحية الوقائية: أرسل «CE» إلى الرقم 92246 للتبرع بمبلغ 1000 ريال

– توفير الملابس الوقائية: أرسل «CT» إلى الرقم 92092 للتبرع بمبلغ 500 ريال

– توفير الوجبات الغذائية: أرسل «CF» إلى الرقم 92402 للتبرع بمبلغ 150 ريال.
