Al Rayyan Stadium project hits 20 million working hours without LTI
مشروع استاد الريان يسجّل ٢٠ مليون ساعة عمل آمنة

Al Rayyan Stadium has achieved a significant FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 milestone by becoming the first project site to reach 20 million working hours on two occasions without a lost-time injury.
The major milestone was reached thanks to rigorous health and safety standards implemented by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), in collaboration with the main contractors – a joint venture between Al Balagh Trading & Contracting and Larsen & Toubro Limited – WSP Middle East, the construction supervision contractor, and project managers AECOM.
The 40,000-capacity stadium is slated to host matches up to the quarter-finals stage during Qatar 2022. It was built on the site of Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium – previously the home of popular local team Al Rayyan Sports Club. Around 90% of the materials from the old venue were reused in the new stadium and surrounding precinct. The stadium is set to be completed later this year.
Abdulla Al Fehani, Precinct Director, Al Rayyan Stadium, said: “We are very proud to achieve this milestone. The health and safety of our workforce is our number one priority – and milestones like this only serve to illustrate that fact.”
Al Fehani said progress on the venue – which will become the home of Al Rayyan Sports Club – continues unabated.
“We remain on track to complete the stadium in 2020 – according to our schedule. I am sure that football fans across the country – particularly the passionate supporters of Al Rayyan – cannot wait to attend a game at this stunning venue.”
Abdulla Al Bishri, the SC’s Health & Safety Manager, said exceptional collaboration and an unwavering commitment to health and safety were vital in achieving this milestone.
“We have achieved this milestone thanks to strong management, robust implementation and a culture of continuous improvement across our health and safety programme. We continuously monitor our work, including regular inspections and comprehensive audits. We also make the effort to regularly share lessons learned across our project sites.
“I would like to pay tribute to everyone involved in this effort – it is thanks to the hard work of the SC and our various contractors that we have achieved this outstanding milestone.”
Al Bishri said the SC had now exceeded 300 million work hours across its sites and has a low accident frequency rate of just 0.02% for the entire project.
“Our record is the result of dedication and hard work in the area of health and safety – something which will remain as a legacy for our country when it comes to construction and hosting more major events.”
Located adjacent to the Mall of Qatar and within walking distance of Al Riffa Station – on the Doha Metro Green Line – Al Rayyan Stadium will be a sporting landmark for the local community. Its striking design features a glowing façade, comprised of patterns that characterise different aspects of the country: the importance of family, the beauty of the desert, native flora and fauna, and local and international trade. A seventh shape, a shield, brings together all the others, representing the strength and unity that is particularly relevant to the proud desert city of Al Rayyan.

سجّل مشروع استاد الريان، أحد استادات بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 ?، إنجازاً هاماً على صعيدي الأمن والسلامة، بعد إتمام 20 مليون ساعة عمل دون وقوع إصابات معيقة لسير أعمال البناء، وذلك للمرة الثانية منذ انطلاق العمل في المشروع .
ويعود الفضل في تحقيق هذا الإنجاز إلى الالتزام الكامل بتنفيذ معايير الصحة والسلامة الخاصة باللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، بالتعاون مع تحالف المقاول الرئيسي للمشروع الذي يضم شركة البلاغ للتجارة والمقاولات، وشركة لارسن آند توبرو ليمتد، إضافة إلى شركة دبليو إس بي الشرق الأوسط، مقاول الإشراف على عمليات البناء، وشركة أيكوم التي تتولى إدارة المشروع.
وتبلغ الطاقة الاستيعابية للاستاد 40 ألف مشجع، ويستضيف مباريات في بطولة قطر 2022 من دور المجموعات حتى ربع نهائي، ويجري تشييده في موقع استاد أحمد بن علي، المقر السابق لنادي الريان الرياضي، وقد استخدم ما يقرب من 90% من مواد الاستاد القديم في بناء الاستاد الجديد والمنطقة المحيطة به، ومن المقرر اكتمال العمل به في وقت لاحق من العام الجاري.
وقال المهندس عبد الله الفيحاني، مدير إدارة مشروع استاد الريان، الذي سيصبح بعد البطولة مقراً لنادي الريان الرياضي “فخورون بتحقيق هذا الإنجاز، فصحة وسلامة جميع من يعملون معنا تأتي على قمة أولوياتنا، وهو ما تؤكده الأرقام والإنجازات التي يسجلها المشروع”.
وأكد الفيحاني أن معدلات العمل في الاستاد تسير على قدم وساق وفق الجدول الزمني المقرر، وقال “نتقدم بخطوات ثابتة نحو اكتمال العمل في الاستاد خلال العام الجاري. ويترقب الكثير من مشجعي كرة القدم في قطر، وخاصة جماهير نادي الريان، بكل شغف حضور المباريات في هذا الاستاد المذهل”.
من جانبه أشاد المهندس عبد الله البشري، مدير إدارة الصحة والسلامة باللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، بالتعاون الاستثنائي بين كافة الأطراف، والالتزام بصحة وسلامة العمال، وقال “استطعنا تحقيق هذا الإنجاز بفضل الإدارة الصارمة، والتنفيذ الدقيق لمعايير الصحة والسلامة، وثقافة التحسين المتواصل لبرامجنا في هذا المجال. ونحرص على المراقبة المستمرة للعمل، بما في ذلك عمليات التفتيش الدورية والمراجعة الشاملة لكافة جوانب العمل، إضافة إلى مشاركة الدروس المستفادة من مواقع العمل في مشاريعنا”.
وأضاف البشري “أشكر كل من شارك في هذا النجاح الذي تحقق بفضل جهود اللجنة العليا ومقاوليها. لقد سجّلت مشاريع اللجنة العليا إلى الآن أكثر من 300 مليون ساعة عمل، بمعدل منخفض في تكرار الحوادث لم يتجاوز 0.02%، ما يؤكد الالتزام والعمل الجاد لتعزيز الصحة والسلامة في مشاريع البطولة، ما سيعد إرثاً مستداماً لدولة قطر في قطاع الإنشاءات والإعداد لاستضافة الأحداث الرياضية الكبرى”.
ويعكس تصميم استاد الريان وواجهته الخارجية المتموجة جوانب الثقافة القطرية كجمال الصحراء القطرية، وأوجه الحياة البرية، علاوة على شكل الدرع المميز الذي يجمع بين العناصر المختلفة في رمز للقوة والوحدة في قطر، وما تجسّده منطقة الريان.
يشار إلى أن استاد الريان يمتاز بموقعه بالقرب من عدد من المعالم والمراكز التجارية الشهيرة مثل قطر مول، ومحطة الرفاع على الخط الأخضر في مترو الدوحة، ومن المتوقع أن يصبح الاستاد وجهة رياضية مميزة لأهل المنطقة وسكان قطر.
